I played one of the Maxis University lots at Academy Le Tour for the first time last night, the Sharpe Family. Edwin, "the goofy brother," is wearing rectangular full-frame glasses that aren't showing up in CAS, Body Shop, or through "Change Appearance." As the screenshot below shows, "Change Appearance" is under the mistaken impression that Edwin isn't wearing any glasses. Then what are those things on his face? Since any attempt by me to use SimPE to locate and extract these frames would most likely end with a BFBVFS, I'd be ever so grateful to anyone who could extract these frames for recoloring. My lips belong to JMP, but all other body parts are up for grabs. Thanks! [attachment deleted by admin]

Despite the name, I am male.Do not call me "miss".

Have you tried putting CAS in debugging mode to find them?

I notice that too about a month ago and could not come up with an answer other than Maxis did not added that perticular pair of glasses in the game though a Sim is using it (but since a Sim is using it, it must be somewhere in the game ). The same thing happened on a downtown lot with a pot of flowers that someone pointed out on this site but I cannot remember whom or the title of the post. It was modify after it was put on downtown lot and there is no way to have the original one.

No...I didn't think of that. I'll try it, thanks. I'm really hoping someone can dig them out and make them available for retexturing, though. I need to get at them with Body Shop to do that. I'm thinking these glasses, like that pot of flowers, will eventually be found as one of those "lost" Maxis files.

Then I guess this is a case for Numenor. He's the one who has digged up most lost and found items, correct?

Hairfish, I have noticed there are some glasses that are specific to an age group, however if a sim who is wearing them in that age group grows up, they get to keep them in the next age group. Those particular ones may be child glasses. Let me go look... *edit: Nope, they aren't although the round glasses that little boys can wear are like that. I thought they might be women's glasses but I checked every age group and gender and cannot find them. let me go snoop in the game files.

Hairfish, look at the top of the "glasses" menu - the "no glasses" is highlighted, I see it in your picture above.
You have to click on another kind of glasses (no matter which), and then click again on "no glasses". It happened to me a lot of times. When I wanted to remove the glasses, if "no glasses" was highlighted - I couldn't remove them, unless I highlight another pair, and then return to "no glasses".

Okay, I found out they are called "amAccessoryEyeglassesThinFrame" however I can't seem to find them with the rest of the glasses in the Mesh Overlay section of Skins.package. I did however find hidden noserings by Maxis.

I had a couple of dormies wearing a red hat - and it as nowhere at all in the hair section, so I think that is another "lost" file! (It was a red cloche type, but with a small brim.)

Romeo's hat in Veronaville is similar. I believe it shows up as a teen girl's hat, but not for boys.

I've noticed this with some items as well, I thought I just couldn't find them or something. I've also noticed that although Castor Nova is clearly wearing glasses, he doesn't show as having glasses as one of his attraction markers - SimPE shows him as not wearing them. As far as I recall, his are in the catalogue. Does Edwin show as wearing glasses in SimPE?

The round glasses that only show up for kids in Bodyshop become available to all age groups if you make a recolor out of them.

Romeo's hat hair was an early hairstyle. It actually came with the pre-release bodyshop and if you have those files from it installed it still shows up in it. The actually re-did a lot of hairstyles to make other similar ones. My guess is they liked the hat hairs that shipped with the game better than those old ones. Why they left it on those characters is anyone's guess. Perhaps they created those neighborhoods and characters before they went back and redid those hairstyles and just never bothered to change them.
At any rate, they are still there, just hidden (via a flag of 9 in the property set). You can get them in debug mode or it's possible to mod a package file to make them viewable. I actually unhid all the hidden clothing when I did my clothing equality mod. I may go and unhide all the hats and hairs at some point too. It's not hard to do.

Motoki, are perchance some of the hair styles that show on dead sims in neighborhoods like Pleasantview hidden somewhere in the game? I was looking through the neighborhoods with SimPE and I saw at least two women's hairstyles that aren't in the game now. One was a beehive type and the other was similar to one that is included but not quite the same, and I can't remember which it is right now.

No those ones I believe were removed from the game if they're the ones I'm thinking of. If the mesh doesn't exist anymore we're pretty much out of luck. I was really bummed about that too because believe me I wanted Irma Oldie's beehive! LOL

I know. There are a couple of beehives out there now, but none of them look quite right. Too big. Too tall. Ick. I really want one that looks exactly like Irma's and fits in the portrait. Too bad about the glasses. Those look better than what most of the male styles look like. They must be SOMEWHERE if they're showing up in the game...

I tried, she doesn't have any character data last I checked unless they changed something with NL. At any rate, I'm 99.9% sure that mesh does not exist in any of the files that shipped with the game unless they stashed it someplace weird so even if you could bring her back she'd probably be bald.

Pity! They certainly didn't do a good job on some of the ghosts. I want to resurrect Darleen Dreamer, but which one? the one with the pink outfit or the other one? One (the gemini) has no character details, and SimPE doesn't seem able to put them in.
Now yet another oddity about the Dreamers is they changed the house and there aren't any unpaid bills, Dirk is A+ and not alienated, which is a shame! No problems to sort out when you start to play the house.

Same here, since I install Nightlife I also notice the bills in the Dreamer house have all disappeared. This is not related to the patch since it was like that right after I install Nightlife. I did not notice though if we still had the pop-up message that Darren wanted to paint but have to pay a lot of bills. For players that are playing them for the first time, they will look for those bills all over the house poor them... A few things were fix though, after I install University when I went to play the Summerdream family in Veronaville, the party scenario would never start (no meter) after I install Nightlife it was corrected and now there is a party scenario. I do not need to move the Pleasants or Broke in another house either since before Angela would always bring back home Dustin Broke and vice versa no matter age they were, now she brings him home once and same with Dustin.

Weirdly, I had a boy wearing the child's Harry Potter round glasses grow up to a teen and while he kept the glasses, they appeared to have melted into a weird wiggly oval shape. It looked freaky and I changed them before I thought to take a screenshot.

The same for me, they were all stretched and melty, so I changed them too after not finding teenage round glasses like that. I imagine the mesh stretches for some reason to fit the teenage face?
