What does the Star carrer reward actually do?

Good question.  I wondered that, too.

Until somebody who really knows answers, I'm going to hazard a guess that it increases the number of lot visitors.  I seem to be getting more walk-bys, but I could be wrong.

I was going to suggest it does sheer bugger all.  Considering the worthlessness of increasing the number of walk-bys, I'm going to stick with that for now.

Personally, I'll take a good book to a glowing star anytime I need "social". Heck, I doubt I even have a Social need…

I thought it increased the social of sims in the same room.

It certainly seemed to be doing that the last time I played a lot where one was present.

Fame Star is +10 to Social to all sims in room within 6 tiles of trigger square every 15 sim-minutes. Like a snapdragon, only not as awesome (or overpowered, depending on how you look at it). Useful for whiny outgoing-10 sims, particularly the 12s. Like above, only with numbers.

Heh.  That explains why it did nothing for my sims.  I thought it was like the Hollowwood stars on the sidewalk, and so put it outside.  None of my sims ever went near the thing and so its effect was nil.

Heh. I did the same thing. I thought it was for the walkway outside.
