None of my bdyshop items will show up in game. Other custom content will, but nothing bodyshop. CAS will display default replacements though. It's not custom content, I've tried all of it. I'm so confused.

What's "not custom content", the items? You mean it's not an "enabling CC" issue? In the meantime, is your Downloads folder spelled with a capital D?

Liz: I tried deleting custom content, but it didn't work. All my downloaded houses are working though. It's stuff like makeup, clothes, and facial features that won't work. If it helps, I've got all the expansions, and all stuff packs except for K&B and Holiday.

Wait, why are you trying to *delete* the cc to make it appear? The last question still remains: is your Downloads folder spelled with the capital D? And far be it from me to ask a stupid question, but have you actually enabled CC in-game?

Liz: I deleted the old stuff and put in new stuff. Yes the downloads folder has a "D", and yes I enabled custom content. I'm not sure what to do. I's like the game is refusing to display custom content.

All right, have you tried deleting cigen.package and groups.cache?

You're claiming that custom content that isn't Body Shop content is showing up, but you haven't mentioned any of it specifically. Downloaded houses ALWAYS show up -- what about downloaded furniture? Do you have any, and is it showing up?

Try creating a fresh Downloads folder, or removing the one you have and running Bodyshop to generate one for you.

Akatonbo: It's just all makeup, clothes, and facial feautures. It's not a specific item. Furniture does work. Food works. Hacks work. But bodyshop items won't. Simsample: I tried that already. Also, this problem started after I used a download organizer to start putting my custom content in folders. Although taking them out of the folders didn't help.

Are you sure that organizer you mentioned doesn't also have an option to disable custom content while still leaving it in the Downloads folder (by changing the file-type extension or something) and that you didn't do that (one way or another) to the BS content you're missing?

Cappuccino: I deleted the program a while ago. I do remember I got it in MTS2 though. I'll do a search. Edit: Nothing came up.

In regards to what Cappuccino said, what do the downloaded bodyshop item filenames end in? They have to be .package for the game to read them. Even if you did accidentally change them to something else with the program (probably .bak or .disabled) you can still change them back manually.

Simsample: I tried that already. It's worth checking your My Documents/EA Games/ The Sims 2/ Config/ userprops.xml file. The values you need to confirm are: <AnyBoolean key="allowCustomContent" type="0xcba908e1">true</AnyBoolean> <AnyBoolean key="disableCustomObjects" type="0xcba908e1">false</AnyBoolean> I'd have thought that they would already be correct as you can see other CC, but it's worth trying. Also, does this occur with all bodyshop content, even freshly downloaded items? What about if you put them in the Saved Sims folder (but not in subfolders)?

I'm tired, haven't been able to play Sims for a few months, and am dealing with computer issues ATM, so my brainstorming skillz aren't at their best right now, but I'll give it a shot.
Are you sure the CC works? It is possible you got some bad files. Try deleting and re-downloading the ones that aren't working.
Check that you don't have two items trying to use the same GUIDs.
Wild speculation time: If you have two or more BS items both set as "default replacements," only one tends to work. Does this apply to make-up things, or only to eye colour / skins / other genetics?
This doesn't generally come up anymore, but another issue people used to have (with Sims 1, actually) was downloading files made for a Mac or a Win machine when they owned the other OS.

Simsample: I checked the values and they were correct. Also, it's all bodyshop stuff. Lorelei: There are no specific files. None of the bodyshop items I have work. Right now I don't have any default replacements.

Did you check if they worked in the Saved Sims folder?

No one else thought of anything? Then I suppose a back-up, uninstall, reinstall is the only remaining solution. So sorry.

Kazzandra: Darn. I lost the discs for some of the EPs. Isn't there some other way?
