This is the definition of party politics, I believe.  A party in power has only a short-term and wants to be re-elected.  A policy or programme that will take 20-50 years to show that it is a sustainable solution is therefore less attractive.  From Yes, Prime Minister:  "Diplomacy is about surviving until the next century. I do have to say this in defense of FeeEssen, seeing as I have her cheap shower tub, terlet, and sink.  They are all functional, ugly, matching, and cheap.  You can have a full bathroom using them, for the cost of the walls, floor, and door plus something like 25 Simoleans.  I have been known to use them for Sims just starting out.  The best part is when the Sim guys lift the non-existent lid of the terlet.  I also like how when the shower breaks, you can just throw it out and get a new one for 10 Simoleans.  The truly disposable shower tub, not worth fixing.

However, since this is more or less cheating, lately I've just been using money cheats to get them nicer things anyway.

Depends how you use them.  I use money cheats to take money away from my sims. 

Money is much too easy to come by in the game, and I take cash away from my sims using the familyfunds cheat so that it takes longer for them to be able to afford nice things.

If you class no20Khandout and moreexpensivenpcs as money cheats, then yes I use those.

I've got no20Khandout and there isn't even close to enough squalor in my neighborhoods.  The only time I've ever come close to wanting/needing a $10 shower was during the course of the Ghetto challenge (which currently has my vote for best challenge ever).  And even if that sort of thing were allowed in that challenge it wouldn't make me want any FeeEssen crap.

Meh. Parsimonious has no sense of humor. Last time I did them the politeness of rehosting the images, they got all butthurt because I didn't do it quickly enough, and then whined about being nominated.  Rather than explaining the problem, or answering my (I'll admit, pretty n00bish) questions about it, they got all snippy and engaged in unrestrained asshattery.  What ever happened to the honor of being nominated? They also claimed that hotlinked images use up the majority of their bandwidth, which I find hard to believe. More likely it's people linking to their downloads, since they won't allow their stuff to be uploaded in houses, etc, and demand a link to the site instead.

Point is, bandwidth is clearly not the issue here. Pissy creators: DO NOT WANT!

What item/set were you attempting to nominate? Should be easy enough to go take a peek. I lurve the hell out of Parsimonious. They're just so damned fancy! The majority of their TS2 creations are definitely not my personal taste, but I'm always curious to see what they'll come up with next.
