Got a question for the peanut gallery. I've just completed goopisation and taken screenshots - now I'm looking for an easy place to upload this monstrosity, in case anyone's stoned enough to want a copy. If it were just a couple hundred K I'd not stress it and just load it to my own space, but this puppy weighs in at a meaty 560K at rar's "Best" setting.

Yes, in her infinite wisdom, Rose has decided that this outfit should require not one, not two, but three completely separate sets of textures & alphas. One texture & alpha is for the heels of the boots. Yes, you read that right. For some insane reason, the HEELS of the BOOTS have their own tex & Alpha. Plus the 3rd one for... I'm not entirely sure. It's completely white. But I'm sure it's absolutely critical to the performance of this special little mesh.

That sweater at the waist is not actually "tied to" the pelvis' movements at all, so the slightest motion in the buttock region starts the skirt poking through the sweater. Of course, it's when the yoga begins that the mesh becomes truly, truly special.

(Oh, and it's a hand-swallower too. Yes, a miniskirt outfit that swallows its wearer's fingers. Adorable.)

So yeah, any suggestions on where I can post this half-Meg file?

Did you try compressorizing it? I recently was working on some stupid walls and my files ended up being 334kb. Ran them through the Compressorizer and they all ended up around 3-4kb instead.

Sadly, since the majority of the bits are image files, there was only so much this zesty little program could do, so instead of a 560K rar it's down to 505K. Definitely a big improvement but still a lot bigger than I'd ideally like to be hosting from my own webspace. Any other suggestions, guys?

BTW, Tsarina, too fricking funny. Looks like she's trying to Lamaze her way through birth or something.

SalixTree, I lurve your approach - totally compliments the Goopy look without being a copy. Yay, Emma gets two Gooptastic ensembles!

I know zero about meshing and am therefore completely ignorant of the correct terms to use, but I think the main problem with the mesh is that the tie-around cardy appears to move completely independently of the skirt (or more correctly perhaps, not move at all). So not only does that allow the skirt to poke through it at the slightest provocation; it's what so graciously provides the EZAccessFTW breeziness you look for in your athletic gear. And I'd dearly love to know why in the pink and frilly hell the heel of the boot requires its very own texture & alpha. Insanity.

You're right that the problem is with the independent cardigan (and skirt.) Most sims meshes don't have the parts that aren't visible (or shouldn't be visible.) So for this mesh, most creators would remove the upper thigh and butt and just attach the skirt to the upper thigh underneath the skirt. It looks ugly when the sim sits down but it's a good idea because it reduces the poly count and eliminates problems like this.

I've heard that Rose borrows/steals a lot of their meshes from the 3d modeling community (and Peggy does too), which would explain why the mesh isn't optimized for sims. It wouldn't be that difficult to do, though.

I thought a bit about this mesh and ended up confused. How is this possible? I didn't think Sim clothing actually had anything 'underneath' them, and that the clothes was the body. Are these meshes just some kind of shells put on top of the Sim? Because that would be a crazy polygon count having both the clothes and the body.
