Need help identifying a hack...
« on: 2005 October 27, 09:50:15 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I've recently been cleaning out my stuff ready for when I install NL (am not-so-patiently waiting for it to be given as a birthday gift, in a couple of weeks!) and have been going through my hacks folder, but can't identify this one....

It doesn't have a name, just a long string of letters/numbers, and in Content Manager in the description it says -

Overrides Behavior Trees
Interaction - Check Working - TEST
Interaction - Maximize Energy & Comfort
 Interaction - Maximize All Needs
 Interaction - Maximize Aspiration
Interaction - Set Aspiration - TEST - UNUSED
Sub - Set Aspiration For Me
Interaction - Always True - TEST - DEBUG

Obviously I have a fair idea of what it does, but what exactly is it? Have I somehow gotten hold of a Less Awesome hack, or is this one of JMP's? The reason I ask is, all my other Pescado hacks all have proper names that explain exactly what it is they do, whereas this is just named a string of random crap which leaves me none the wiser...  Huh

Any input appreciated etc. etc.  Smiley

Doesn't seem like one of Pescado's hacks.  Maybe it's come in a downloaded house?

You could try the clean installer, it has a function which reads all your content and identifies hacks.  You can get it from ModTheSims2.

Sounds like a Wintermuteai hack that stowed away with a house download. Seems like it's something someone snagged from the debug mode and I know Wintermute tends to do that. Anyway it should be safe to get rid of it. I really don't reccomend keeping any hacks that you don't recognize or recall downloading.

I totally agree with that - happened to me once with a house, before I ever installed a single hack in my game, and suddenly I had at least a dozen, plus unwanted recolours, sims, sim memories and god knows what, and my game went totally berserk!  So use the clean installer before you install any downloaded house!

And it's by far the easiest way, in my opinion, to clean out anything you don't want that's already got a foothold.

Then use SimPE to make doubly sure it's all GONE!
