Should I be able to walk to community lots?

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

CryI didn't get BV but I did get FT. Should I be able to walk to community lots or is this a hack that I turned on by accident? If this feature is suppose to be there why does my sim get stuck in arriving mode? If I leave the community lot w/o saving the sim is still stuck in limbo at home. I have to move the sim out and then back in? Any suggestiion will be tried and appretiated

Actually Kat, it came with BV Wink

People had problems with this when BV was first released and I think it was due to an outdated hack. Can't remember which one though.

She said she didn't have BV though.  Wink

Was it the phone hack that was causing it maybe? Or hmmm... visitor controller? I know that it was one I use, which narrows it down some.

Inteen was one cause, and an outdated visitor controller was the other.

I'll take the visitor controller out but it was on the list of hacks that should work. I'll let you know what happens

Which version of the visitor controller are you using?  The painting-based one, or the beta version?

If you have BV or later, you can no longer use the painting-based visitor controller and you will need to upgrade to the beta version.  This can be found at Inteen, but you will need to be logged in over there to access TwoJeff's beta stuff.

Please, Mr/Ms. NikiJohns:  Stick to black colors in your posts.  I have difficulty reading the rainbow colors, and it is proper MATY Etiquette.  Please read the FAQ.  It's currently in the podium, labeled "SPORE TORRENTS IN THIS THREAD".

rofl.

Anyhow black is used also in the Gospel (except perhaps when Jesus himself is purported to have spoken).  I only say, 'cos the OP raised it (the Gospel that is).  Black is the fashionable colour of normal typing this season.

Embarrassed Sorry, I'm not very good at this stuff, but I will make an effort to be more compliant in the future!

And don't apologise!  Honestly, everytime someone says something it's "sorry" this, and "forgive me" that, and "I'm not worthy".  It's like those miserable Psalms...  (Apologies to Monty Python).

Actually, nikijohns, I didn't think you were doing that badly, apart from the colour thing.  Tip for success at MATY:
1) Lurk and read
2) Read interestingly misnamed FAQ
3) Use search - try not to post questions that have already been asked and answered in another thread.
4) Be polite until you know someone well enough to really piss them off and want MOAR FIGHT.
5) If you want to use a swear word, don't use ****, but use the actual word.  We know what they all are anyway.
6) NO POOFTAH's! - no wait, that's wrong - there is NOOOO...rule six.
7) Don't be 12. (or at least don't act 12) - Lurk and read.

Walking to lots was first introduced in BV, but is also enabled in FT as well, since it has no meshes, textures, or animations.

I'm using the 'updated for FT' beta version of the Visitor Controller and I've had no trouble with 'walk to'  in Free Time.

May I make a suggestion?

1. Keep mislabeled FAQ to entice ADHD n00bz to click it. I don't think it is working very well, but it has an amusement factor, and Venusy seems to enjoy coming up with new n00b-enticing titles.

BUT

2. Have a clearly labeled "GO FAQ YOURSELF NOW--READ THIS FIRST BEFORE YOU POST OR RUE THE DAY" Sticky, too. That way we get to flay those who will not read it. I suspect some of us miss the sport.

That way there are no more excuses for laziness. Also, it makes it easy for the non-lazy to find useful info. I know I wouldn't be enticed by BRITNEY'S BEWBZ or SPORE DOWNLOADS, and it is likely other people are missing the FAQ for the same reason.

I have this walking problem, too, but I don't have inteen, and I don't think I have a visitor controller of any make. I don't remember downloading/having one and none of the hacks I do have say/imply they're visitor controllers. I do have the phone hack (if that's a visitor controller, then I have it. It doesn't seem to be, though). Does the current phone hack cause this or is there something else that can cause this problem?

Have you got the latest phone hack?  The hacks are updating pretty fast at the moment.  Download a new one and try with and without the hack in place.  If you've already done that, please say so.
