Please Help Me De-Fuglify Castaways Stories

I really want to get rid of the fugly characters shipped with Castaways.  I have default face templates installed, but the fuglies still appear.
Will it work for me to just delete the character files in the C:\Program Files... area or do I have to create an empty template too?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, please keep it fairly simple - I have all of the cleaned up templates for Sims 2 and love it.

There is no point in trying to clean Castaways. Firstly, many of those characters are plot-central. Second, why bother? Castaways is worth one playthrough, then that's basically it.

I agree with JM. After the first play-through just delete the pre-made characters. Then add your own sims.
