Can't see pond fish in BV - advice on updating drivers?

G'day all,
I noticed this morning when i installed BV that i can no longer see fish in the ponds, no matter how deep/wide and on lots that i could definitely see fish on before installing. I haven't updated my video drivers in probably 12 months so wondering if people thought this would be the way to go? Way back in FFS days i had a HUUUGE issue with video driver updates so i'm reluctant to just jump in off the deep end and screw over my entire system unless someone elsed thinks this is a good idea  .
I have a Radeon from the X1600 series, can't remember which at the moment...

I think you need to post your computer specs, including the exact graphics driver that you have, otherwise people are not necessarily going to be able to give you the best advice for your game.  Personally, if everything else works fine, I'd be reluctant to mess with it just for pond fish!

While all the sims EPs work best with ATI cards, they're terrible at recognizing the video quality the ATI cards provide most of the time.  Add the following line to your userstartup.cheat file, and it should get your fish back:

boolprop useshaders true
