CASTING CALL BY MTV
Do You Play Sims 2? Have Great Stories about Your Sims Game?
We're looking for young people who want to share their Sims experiences. If you're interested, please post a short video (or picture, but video is preferred) of yourself telling us about your Sims world (and your real world).

Well, on an anonymous board, I don't mind telling all of you how much time I spend playing the sims, fretting over their little pixelated lives, my OCD note taking and planning for the game. BUT there is no way I'd go on TV to talk about it. I'm not THAT crazy.  Grin

I think reggikko should volunteer to tell her experience with TS2, and show her stories - she is just the player for this...Smiley.

You have to be prepared to answer a whole 4 simple questions.

Quote
How do you play the game?
Why do you love Sims?
What do you do in the Sims that you can't do in real life?
What's your real life like?

One loaded question and one that isn't even about Sims.  Roll Eyes

Ye hairy pixelated gods. No. Just no. MTV? Doesn't that stand for, I don't know, MUSIC television? Not "random annoying crap television?" Someone should start that channel. RACTV. "Rack TV." Nice ring to it, and the innuendo in the name suggests some possible content.

I'm *under* 22 and I don't watch MTV, and if I'd seen or heard about the sims being featured on it before I got the game, I would never even have considered buying it.

Although it would be neat to do, just to give entertaining answers to those questions.

1. Through tactile contact with my keyboard and mouse.

2. JMPescado makes hacks for it. Also, I can buy fire.

3. I make men pregnant.

4. It involves physical objects that I can move around, and not enough fire.

I watch MTV sometimes, but not too much tv these days, too busy playing the sims, plus some of the stuff sucks, hardly any music on anymore.

PS. I'm 27

I was an 80s kid and believe it or not when I tell you that at one point MTV actually played Music Videos and that was all that they do. I miss those days. Now if you want to see a video and it's not Britney Spears on Total Request Live you're pretty much limited to file sharing.

Remember Night Train?  It predated MTV by quite a bit, long before producers decided to cater to the three second attention span.  And it wasn't made to intentionally annoy parents.  I remember a long night sitting transfixed watching ABBA perform on Night Train.

I really wonder if Maxis & the sims community realise just how many sims players are actually adult? I would guess EA would target the marketing more heavily toward adults if they knew what a big sims playing segment it was.

One of the plusses of the game, IMHO,was finding an intelligent and articulate adult community online, though sometimes there's a lot of crap to wade through on the way. Wink

I was an 80's teen as well, and I remember we could have MTV on for background music. Even if the only thing they played was by Haircut 100, or something like that.

I admit MTV can still be a junk-food indulgence for me. I watch the Real World. I'm 35 frickin' years old.

My mom watches the Real World, and she is almost 50. I don't watch it, because I do not care the least bit about reality TV.

*shrug* I am not a TV watcher, much less someone who voluntarily watches MTV (and I am under 22). I don't care if Sims 2 was featured on it or not. If it was just MUSIC TV, then I would probably watch it. However, it isn't. It's Random Teenage and Young Adult Crap TV.

I went off TV a long time ago, not nearly interactive enough for me. I do watch some stuff, but I have to put a reminder on my cellphone for the programs I want, otherwise I'd never remember to turn the tellie on.
