Hacks in the root downloads directory?

Hey guys/gals
I'm wondering if anyone could offer some ideas on which hacks are known to need to be put in the root downloads directory.  I've been wanting to put everyone's hack in their own directories, but I think I remember that there were certain hacks that needed to be in the root.
I'm only wondering about any of the hacks from this site...I have very few hacks that aren't from here.

Jordi's better names hack (Live.package) and the InSIMenator are the only two I know of which need to be in the root downloads directory.

Are you sure? I use both hacks and have them filed in a subfolder in the subfolder hacks.

I use the insim all the time and as far as I can tell, newly created sims get better names as well.

Was this maybe resolved with some expansion? Or is something not working right in my game, that I can´t see?

Live.package works for me in a subfolder, as long as it keeps its name. The same goes for my other GUI overrides (the UK spelling mod, and the object text mods).

Same with the inSim. All the hacks I have in my game work in subfolders.

I've always kept InSIM and all my other hacks in subfolders, makes it sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much easier to keep track of them!

All of my hacks are in subfolders, except Live.package which now that I know I can put it in a subfolder I will.

All the bodyshop stuff (eyes, makeup, skins, etc.) needs to be in the root directory, but only if you don't have Nightlife. If you have Nightlife or above EP, everything can stay in subfolders.

No hacks need to be in the root directory, not even CEP.  I don't have any files at all in the root.
Bundled files, like insim and inteen need all their files to be kept in the same directory for loading order purposes, but there's no reason that folder should be the root.  Just make a folder called "Insim" and put the files in there.

Not necessarily, but since sheeple are stupid it is recommended to place it there. On 2k/XP the root dir loads before subdirs, so having the CEP there makes sure it is present for any recolours. Also SimPE expects it there.

BTW, I love your Live hack, Jordi. It's one that I can't live without.
Sorry it took so long to respond...I've been having troubles on the site and whenever I try to post, I get a connection error.
