Turning college into child boarding school?
« on: 2006 February 25, 05:20:04 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I was looking at inges school modds, and then when I went back to play a YA, I got a wild idea. Put the kids in boarding school that is just a modified college. And while you're at it, make it so child dormies run around in this little boarding school.

Yeah, retardedly hard idea, but hey! I think of stupid things just to entertain myself, because that's what stupid people do!

That's the kind of "odd" idea I've been playing with. I don't know if you've looked at the stories Inge has posted, but she is running a boarding school with the MATY self-sims. I was playing around with a boarding school of the MATY sims and had something like 18 of them running around.

As far as the "dormies" go - trust me, with that many running around, you can't micromanage them and a lot are left to fend for themselves. Also, I don't see why after you "added them to family" that you couldn't also make them unselectable, so they would be in essence boarding school "dormies".

Well, if you modelled your boarding school on an English Public school, then you could have several Houses (ie dorms) each with a Housemaster/mistress in charge!

That's a very very cool idea. I would be SO ecstatic if someone managed to do that! (Especially if it could be for children AND teens.)

No way!  The whole point of Boarding Schools is to send children away!

What's the point if they come right back?

I once ran a child orphanage. I took in all the children townies ( you know, the ugly pains that bother our poor simmies) and created more.  So I guess it could work but I won't  be sending the Sims I have and control, just those rotten townie ones. It sure would be nice to send them off and ignore  Grin

At first I thought you meant a REAL LIFE orphanage. Then I read the rest of the sentence. *headdesk*
