[fixed] My BodyShop a SPLODE!

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Everytime I start BodyShop, it crashes on load with a "This program has crashed. This program will now terminate" error. Wassuuup?

It seems to only have done this after I installed NL. (my self-sim was made ages ago)

Edit: Fixed - removing the Saved-Sims folder fixed it.

Really silly question, but are you using the NL bodyshop?

About 6 months ago I tried to use the base game bodyshop after I had installed uni - I just had a shortcut to it on my desktop and merrily double clicked.  It crashed but I can't remember what the error was as it was so long ago.  Maybe it is the same for NL?

Try moving out the Saved Sims folder and see if it starts then. I had the same problem and this solved it, a few of the exported sims in the folder went wonky... when I first export them, I can start Body Shop, then some times later it crashes. I'm not sure, why Undecided The files of exported sims are always larger than those made in Body Shop, but I always figured it would be because of clothes and whatnot.

I remember reading ages back that when you export sims using SimPE, you should clone the sim and then delete the exported version of it.

I thank you too, Sleepycat, I feel stupid for not thinking about cloning them and dumping the exported ones Smiley

your both welcome  Smiley

Vejitto, don't feel bad, I wasn't sure if it was still an issue after all this time (and versions of SimPE). I made it a habit to clone them "just in case" after reading that exported sims could make Bodyshop crash.

This is good to know.  I had the same problem some time back, and it was an exported sim from SimPE that was causing it.  Deleting him did the trick, but next time I export a sim in SimPE, I'll try cloning him and deleting the one extracted from SimPE.
