Will this method of deleting sims work

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I just attached a Downtown to my neighbourhood and I want to prune it before the evil hordes of downtownies contaminate my neighbourhood.  I especially want to get rid of the children.  The method I was thinking of using to get rid of them was 1) make sure they have no memories, locate their character file, delete in SimPe and then delete the file.

Will this produce a clean deletion, or will it cause problems down the line?

Well, be careful, most of the downtownies have friends among the dormies (unless they're already extinct!)  However, it should work with no repercussions if they have no relationships - but 6 of the teens are related as half-brothers and sisters, so you'd need to be careful with them.

Thanks, I'll be careful.

The dormies are not an issue as they have been snuffed out by the convienent and expedious means of a deleteallchars.

Should I also remove the names of my sacrificial lambs from the families or does that matter

You might want to check out this list.

This was included in a test release and it didn't work due to various problems, not least of which was that it caused all the Sims' DNA to be reset to CAS defaults.

Erm, I meant it as a check list for things to delete manually. I read about your discovery of that version of SimPE messing up DNAs, so I've still been doing it manually. That deleter tool is no longer available, is it? Never knew how it worked. I got NL weeks later than most people here, and when I finally upgraded to newer versions of SimPE, I tried deleting the Sim Description of the sim I want to get rid of, then checked the wants & fears and DNA resource etc, everything was still there. I got rid of all that manually Undecided.
