Replacing neighborhood picture
« on: 2005 July 29, 17:30:53 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Quick question (feel free to ridicule): I created my own neighborhood and I would like to replace the picture that is there when I open the game. Currently it shows some kind of graph/grid  looking thing (I guess it's a mesh of the terrain the neighborhood is built on) and I would like it to show a picture of the neighborhood like the ones from Pleasantview/Strangetown/Veronville. I have no idea how to go about doing this.

I hope that was coherant.

Actually, that graphic is just a generic placeholder graphic.

To replace a neighborhood's portrait, edit the relevant PNG file located in the neighborhood directory. If you want the animated one from one of the Maxian neighborhoods, you should copy the .reia file.

However, I have no idea how to create a new Reia file, or what a Reia file even *IS*, so I can't help you any further with that. You'll have to either use it as is, or figure out how to make one on your own.

Thank you for the quick answer and help....not to mention the laugh I had over ME trying to figure out how to do something YOU don't know how to do.
