Neutral Witches Broken
«

Using Paladin's visual teleporter, I noticed something odd with my neutral witches. Their thumbnails show a head and clothes, but no body. The good and evil witches are working just fine, but when I try and summon a neutral witch, I get an error (I think I attached the relevent log file).
Here's what I did to try and fix this:
1. Made sure all my hacks relating to witches were up to date. No luck.
2. Checked multiple neighborhoods to make sure the problem wasn't in one hood. Nope, it's in all of them.
3. Pulled my downloads folder so there were no cc or hacks. The only thing left in the game was the teleporter and the same thing was happening.
4. Checked to make sure I was patched. Yup, I'm patched.
I'm at a bit of a loss for this. I was hoping to use one of the neutral witches for something today or tomorrow, but now it looks as if I've got something buggered up. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

If the problem goes away when the teleporter is removed, contact the maker of the teleporter, Paladin.
That will be $25, pay at the window, please.

A review of the error log points the blame squarely at tight pants.

Nuts. I have that, and it's so damn useful. I'm hoping your tight pants were not purchased at Paladin's Place, and you have someone else's tight pants conflicting with the only-slightly-tight pants you picked up there.

UGH. It has to be Paladin's teleporter. It was the ONLY thing in my downloads folder when I tried without any cc. Well, with just that cc. Crapola. It's the best teleporter out there.
Edit: Pulling the visual teleporter did NOT fix the problem. I still can't summon them via any sort of teleporter. I'm at a loss for what to do.

What's wrong with using the Ingelogical?

Pretty much. It's amazingly useful trying to find a sim you don't know the name of. I've found it to be almost necessary rebuilding my hood. It lets me find dormies or downtownies with their new names. It also lets me find NPCs of a particular type without already knowing their name. I also like the way the menus are organized.
An update on the problem... I don't think it is the Visual Teleporter now. I wrote down the names of the affected witches and tried to summon them with both the InSim teleporter and the Inge teleporter (with the Visual Teleporter removed from my downloads) and the same thing is happening. There's something else going on there.

I don't think it's a bug in a hack either.
I just did an 'export sims' from the new QA on a fresh pleasantview.
Pleasantview is unplayed, and has been allowed to generate hack free.
I see three thumbnails of witches with no bodies as you describe. They're all NPC type 71 (0x4B).
All have skills maxed on clean, mech and crea. Zero skill in others.
Which sticks out as an unusual pattern among other npc's, where there is a sprinkling of randomness.
There are 6 other witches (NPC type 64), that have no thumbnails generated as yet,
and I'm guessing the 6 generated witches are 3 good and 3 evil. Can't see good/evil info in the output.
I've only seen the good/evil type on comm lots.
Where in the normal game do these "neutral witches" appear?
If the answer is never, then they're probably broken shit that EA left behind.

Bodiliess witches are not witches, they are the Summonable Servants. They are non-interactable NPCs and you should never touch them.

IIRC, the only neutral witch NPC is the gypsy matchmaker.

I think that actually a neutral witch NPC doesn't exists; if you look at the options in the NPC & Townies creator, you can create only good or evil great witches NPCs.

Yeah that kinda pisses me off. Also when you make a witch with the batbox and choose neutral they don't get a memory of becoming a witch. They only get memories for becoming good or bad ones. I assume that's because there is no neutral witch NPC to learn from. I kind of wanted to see if that were possible. Create a third magical secret lot and have a neutral witch that hangs out there. I'm no modder though so I'm not sure I could do it.
That is a bug, actually. Creaturefixes repairs the missing-memory-for-becoming-neutral-witch bug.

Actually, this is irrelevant to the issue of the missing memory, isn't it?
