Bring a real friend

Where has the "bring a real friend" patch gone? I can't find it anywhere, and there's no note if it works with NL or not. It makes me crazy when my sims bring the pizza boy with them when they visit. I want them to bring real friends again!

So far it works - if you answer the question "can I bring a friend" positively - the sim will come with a real friend.
Tank came with his dad, and Ripp brought a secret society member. It was very good for my kid (which had a birthday - I don't make parties), because when he enterred the college he already had 4 best frind among the SS members.

Hmm...it works then? I thought it was discontinued after Uni came out, so I removed it when I got that expansion. That hack was a must for me before I got rid of the pesky townies!

I never bothered with this before, but I'm going to give it a try now.  My Sims have brought some really weird friends along recently, such as a Matchmaker.  One brought someone they were so 'friendly' with they ended-up almost fighting.  Before NL, one brought a nanny to a Greek house and she wouldn't leave, ended-up stinking the place out, falling asleep and blocking the toilet door, then eventually dropping dead of starvation on the front lawn.  She would keep making herself meals so it took about 4 days.  Had to delete the things in the end or feed them to the cow mascot.

When I first got the game, the "friend" a sim brought over was, of course, the sim that his girlfriend was having an affair with. Of course.

It's too bad you can't boost their creativity and create a band out of them.
