Arghness - Game Crashing During Load Screen

Some major help needed, cos I thinked I broked it. 

The game was completely fine until about 2 days ago. It loaded in the morning, and then when I tried that night, it wouldn't.  I then:

- Took out all my downloads, refused to load
- Took out the entire EA Games folder from ‘My Docs", still nothing
- Reinstalled Free Time, and still nothing

The stupid thing refuses to go past the loading screen (it gets to the 5th (I think) bar, when it says something about "writing scrolls..", and then conks out).

Because it was working 2 days ago without any problems whatsoever, I doubt its anything to do with my laptop (which I'm running it on). The blasted thing is less than 6 months old, and I've have no problems with anything else except the Sims. I've installed All EPS but pets (cos i dont like the critters mucking up my lawn) and most of the stuff packs.

Any suggestions??

I have a suggestion although I'm not sure how well it works for you. Sometimes when my game refuses to start, I delete the accessory/content/cigen/groups files from inside the sims 2 folder in my documents. It lets my game start but I'm not sure if it would fix the crashing after the starting for you.

Have you changed anything in the catalog files, such as adding scripts for stairs? If you've made a mistake it causes crashes during loading.

Not recently no, and i use numenors program for that. makes it soo much easier.

Emma,  thanks for suggesting to look at the scripts folder... somehow some of my downloads veered into the folder: i then removed them and it WORKS
