Well, that's been the case with the maids since Day one of TheSims1!  And now of course, you can add cleaning the cooker just as your sim is about to cook breakfast, and by the time she's finished, and you've clicked on it for your sim to continue cooking, the pool car has arrived and your sim is halfway down the front path!
