Is there a way to find a sim missing from a business lot?
« on: 2010 September 29, 06:02:55 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Okay, I am stupid and I broke my game. Please poke me with sticks, but hopefully help me too... I put this mod into my game to increase the frequency of witches showing up, but both times a witch showed up on a community lot I lost live mode. The first time I just exited to the neighborhood and went back to the home lot where the sim returned in the taxi, so I didn't think anything more of it (stupid). The second time, the witch showed up on the sim's business lot, so I tried the same trick, but since it was the sim's lot it asked me to save and I did (stupid), and when I re-entered I still didn't have live mode. I deleted the witch, saved again and re-entered, which gave me back live mode, but all the sim would do was get into her car and sit there. So I deleted the sim, thinking that would reset her (stupid), but when I re-entered the business lot there were now NO SIMS, and only build mode available.

She's not on the business lot, but the home keeps insisting she is and that she has to return. I tried moving her into a friend's house to get her back and got the same message. I couldn't find anything useful by turning on boolProp. Does anyone have any ideas on how to find her and get her back home? I'd prefer to do it in-game because I've never used simPE or any other modding programs before, but I'm willing to learn them if it can help. Anything?

Call me an idiot, I deserve it. I wouldn't care so much if she weren't a stinking sixth-generation stinking legacy sim.

It only happened about an hour ago so I haven't had a chance, but I hadn't really thought about that. I lost live mode because of the witch, but I assumed I lost the sim because I deleted her. Do you think that would help? I thought the best way would be to tell the game she's somewhere other than the business lot, I'm just not really sure how to do that.

Try the magic wand?

Oh I didn't know about the magic wand! I bet it would have worked, too. Instead I ended up using the teleporter cat to add her to another household, then moved her back out and into her own house. But I lost all her stuff, including the family's gravestones and portraits.  I guess it's better than having to start the family over from scratch, anyway.

Mootilda - thank you SO much for the instructions. I am SO glad I won't have to use them. Wink
