Not able to buy groceries downtown

This was for a main neighbourhood lot, I sent my sim downtown in her own car to buy groceries from the fresh rush grocery, and all the grocery bins and fridges were unclickable! The fridge was just the mini one if that makes any difference, and I was able to order groceries over the phone when I got her home. Does anyone know what might have caused this? I have had no trouble before with buying groceries from downtown community lots.

Feature not bug. Only sims that live Downtown can buy groceries there. Same as only sims that live on the University campus can buy food there.

It's a bit stupid, but apparently intentional.

You can't buy groceries downtown unless you live downtown.  The game needs to be able to find your refrigerator in the neighborhood that you are buying groceries in, and your refrigerator is not in downtown.

Oh, I know there's no "official" ban. I was just being subtley sarcastic in my own way. I highly enjoy just how openly derisive people can be here. I find it all quite amusing.
