TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Neverending Pause
|

I was having the NEP off and on since Sims 3 first came out. After LN, the pause was happening quite frequently and, on one occasion, I could duplicate it. It happened as the car pool arrived to take my Sim, who was in the Journalism career path, to work. Time: 11:59. I then noticed that she was set to work at the Dos Peas building and there was no such building in this hood (the new LN hood). I had to switch her career location to the new building that houses Journalism and a restaurant after which the pause stopped.
I am going to try to replicate this with AM in the game. I had AM in this hood and removed it and the pause stopped, but I got the 'go to work' queue stomp instead of a freeze. So, I cannot totally rule out a glitch with the mod. I can try to dupe this as I was playing an EAxian Sim in the new hood.
I also cannot fulfill any opportunities that take place in the new multiple purpose buildings. One example is to teach a class to the police. If you try to click on the opportunity tab (on the UI), the queue drops. If I try to manually send her to the police station, there is no opportunity available. So could a lot of this be, as mentioned before, routing problems?
Edit: I tried to replicate the freeze with and without AM and I could not. :/ The only difference between these two game plays/saves today and the game played last night was that last night a car showed up to carpool her to work. No carpool showed up with either of these two saved games.
There is borkage with that Sim and her job. The name is King and her job is Journalism level 6. I had not remembered correctly when I said she worked in the Dos Peas towers. It does not say that in the UI. But you do get the option to have her transfer her job to Steve's Business Complex. Transfer from where? I searched the hood and couldn't find an alternative Journalism work zone. *shrug* Anyway, this post now belongs in the LN Bugs thread since I cannot replicate the pause and had queue stompage instead.

The only major annoyance that has cropped up in my game is that when using the pattern tool to copy a scheme to another piece of furniture, the curser gets stuck here and there and moves all over the place highlighting everything but the item I want to copy the color scheme to. I've only managed to copy a few whole schemes and that was only if I held my mouth just right while I did it. I can sometimes use one pattern and manage to drop it on an item but that is very rare. Seems to be affecting all hoods. Yes, I checked my mouse and my machine has plenty of processing power and RAM. The only thing I haven't done is to use the LAA, as I had to use that before because of random CTD's.
Other than that, I haven't had too many problems but I only played for a few sim days.

I've done the driver Rumba. Both machines are wildly different. One being a gaming laptop and the other a PC I had built to play games. One has a NVidia card, the other an ATI. Tried old and new drivers. Same story: CTD. I guess I'm stuck with Twallan now. Played with that mod for 5 hours last night without a lick of trouble on the PC and today for 3 hours on the laptop with smooth gameplay. I have definitely narrowed it down to one thing that is causing the crash: AM. Being a help mod, believe me, I have tried everything to get this sucker working. Every conceivable configuration I could think of. I am not ready to resort to chanting etc. I'll just play with the NRaas and keep sporadically trying AM as it is updated.

I am a Mod at MTS. That post was in reply to a question on how to play the game without the disk. AM is discussed everywhere on our forums. We just do not like to call attention to the fact that it has a no CD crack. If you search for awesome mod at our site, you will find thousands of hits. We do not discourage it's use. In fact, we often refer folks to it for solving game problems.
Now, if I could just get the darned thing working in my WA game, I'd be golden.

I am still getting the CTD. Just for kicks, I installed TS3 and WA on my gaming laptop. Installed the AM (today's updated version) and played the game. Mind you, this is a clean install that has never seen any sort of mod. The game played for approximately 15 minutes before it CTD. All the resource.cfg files and d3d etc files are correctly installed etc. So this problem, as far as I can tell, has nothing to do with my system(s). Anyone have any other ideas? I really miss playing with AM.

Just put AM in my game and it is consistently crashing to desktop. It will run for about 5 minutes before shutting down. I deleted the cache files and it crashed for the 6th time. Prior to reinstall of the mod, the game was running just fine. I do have exception logs, but I doubt they are of any value.
I just removed AM and am playing a hack free game and the crashing has ceased. I was so excited to get AM back in my game.

Yep. Same thing happened to me with Riverview. Whole hood was toast. I have no idea what happened. I was playing a clean game.
Now they are starting to disappear in my Sunset hood and I am fearing impending disaster. I've been backing up the hood like crazy. I'll try the fixall. I just reinstalled awesomemod. Oh how I missed it!

I noticed since this update that my platters of meals are automagically being stored in the fridge. While it seemed like a good thing at first, I am having a bit of difficulty with it. It has rendered my food replicator useless. The food won't sit out long enough to 'store' it. Also, I can no longer call the family and/or guests to meals. I assume this is a robotic hand of god feature. I don't expect you to redo it. I am just registering my opposition to that one feature.

I agree. I'm a bit peeved by the fact that, the way the gov't operates, I have to tear out my fucking land lines to have a reprieve from the incessant spam. i sign up for the - do not call lists- Federal and State. And yet they do nothing. I suppose I could go live in a bunker in Montana, but being that I was born and raised in ND (at least the first 44 yrs of my life),and I'd prefer to spend the rest of my life in solace and peace without neccessarilly tearing out every fucking thing that is of the 21st century, Grump. I thought I was maybe a bit of a luddite. I think that I need to reconsider the luddite principle.
Edit: Thanks Tuna. Now I don't have to tear out all the land lines to get a reprieve from the telemarketers.

Tonight I spun up the game after not playing for a bit. I sent 3 sims through college and each of them, after graduating, has been receiving almost constant phone spam (str > 95 ltr > 80) from their ex-professors. Mind you, these are the first sims I have graduated since installing AL. I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered this? Latest awesomeware phone hack installed all awesome mods updated and game(s) patched.
