1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a cheat to increase lot size? on: 2005 October 03, 07:24:24
Perhaps I didn't spell it well (slums or slams, don't know), but we name the poor people, living in poor build areas (like Harlem, or Bronks) - slams (slums). They usually have low intelligence, and are hard-working for their living. We have too areas of this kind, and the young generation wants to run away from there, and achieve a higher rate of life...Smiley.

Err .... where I come from, the slums are the poorer neighbourhoods, not the people who live there ..
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Request: Non-ADD Cooking Hack on: 2005 September 29, 21:25:57
Hmm .. my solution is to remove free will.  They always stand obediently at the oven when free will is off Wink.

Shocked
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife bugs on: 2005 September 27, 18:10:09
Don't know if this is a bug or not, but it sounds as if it's akin to the handheld/scanner problem.  I had a Sim buy coffee for the Contessa (who she was friends with, but not best friends) and they both developed crushes on each other.

I think, in one of these threads, Maxoid Tom said that would be addressed in the patch.  The original idea was something akin to buying someone a drink at a bar ..

What I remember reading is that the relationship restriction doesn't apply to the count / countess ..
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Invisible Memories - Virus Spreading Fast on: 2005 September 27, 02:06:08
What exactly are "invisible memories"? Memories that appear in SimPE but not in-game?
Yeah .. they tend to be memories that belong to other sims.  If they directly witness a memory-creating event, or learn about it through gossip, they gain an invisible memory about it.  They then transfer it to other sims through gossip.

If you RTFM you'll see Dr. Boris is the other half of Flying Fish Systems (FFS).
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pleasure/Grilled Cheese thought bubbles on: 2005 September 26, 22:58:14
I don't think the thought bubbles have much to do with anything.  It's just random crap, generally.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife Nightmare on: 2005 September 26, 18:41:14
Good lord .. they expect the average user to follow all that?

I hate how their first answer is always to tell people to shut down all open processes.  You shouldn't go shutting down processes in task manager, willy nilly, unless you actually know what they are and whether it's safe to do so.  And telling people to shut down their virus scanners and fire walls is just dangerous.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: default hair problem on: 2005 September 26, 18:33:46
thanks everybody I thought it was just me, but actually the hairdo does not look like a hat to me,  I thought it was a bow in her hair.

It's not that it is a hat, the game just treats it as a hat, since it would be a little silly to sleep or go swimming with that massive thing on your head Smiley.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Request: STOP SWOONING OVER ROMANCE SIMS!!! on: 2005 September 26, 03:06:14
I don't have NL, yet, so can't really comment on how things are working with the attraction system in place.

Personally, though, I always saw it as sort of like rock stars.  Most of them are butt-ugly with the personality of a toad, but that doesn't stop the swarms of groupies ..
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This new furious state on: 2005 September 25, 05:52:21
I don't need the kids to hate each other.

Sibling rivalry .. sounds pretty natural to me.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Vampires and Gardening...A question about motives... on: 2005 September 25, 03:31:48
Their motives won't decay naturally at night, but can still be lowered by objects and the like.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Mrs. Crumplebottom Vampire. Her true calling? on: 2005 September 25, 00:57:41
Idiots on the BBS are claiming that this thread doesn't exist, and that we are all liars. They probably can't handle that bugs exist so freely in the game, becuase Maxis are above human and can't make mistakes, clearly.
Well, of course they can't find this thread.  They probably can't afford the monthly subscription ..
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Morality & The Sims on: 2005 September 24, 22:35:22
My sims tend to stay faithful.  Personally, I don't have too much interest in destroying their marriages by having them cheat.  I do have a romance sim, though, that lives by himself in a little disco shack.  He woohoos anyone who walks by the lot Smiley.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bubble blowers on: 2005 September 24, 21:10:12
Hmm .. I have a modified bubble blower that I downloaded from MTS2 that blows smoke instead of bubbles  Grin
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My popularity sim wants to be a romance... on: 2005 September 23, 20:35:45
It's not unusual for sims who just had public woohoo for the first time to roll up that want.  Just ignore it, and it'll go away.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Submit Issues about Nightlife on: 2005 September 22, 19:53:27
08 - problem in non-English languages (fixed in patch).  Also may be a soundcard issue (AC97), or performance dropping sounds (put audio settings on highest)
...
And while this is a problem with non-USEnglish games, will it have a fix in the patch?
You quoted the answer to your question, eh ..
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help looking for 2 hacks on: 2005 September 22, 18:28:57
I don't think this is the right place to ask for an 'eat all you want and never get fat' hack.  JM tends to make hacks that remove annoyances and things that aren't logical.  His solution was to create a hack that stopped sims from eating when they weren't hungry.  Making them always stay thin, no matter how much they gorge, is moderately cheaty, and not the sort of thing I've seen JM create.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hurricane Katrina on: 2005 September 22, 16:43:52
Look at this article that appeared (unsolicited) in my personal email:

An Unnatural Disaster: A Hurricane Exposes the Man-Made Disaster of the Welfare State

An Objectivist Review

by Robert Tracinski | The Intellectual Activist

I really hope the author is alone in feeling that was in any way, shape, or form, objective.  I'd be pretty worried if that's what passes as objective journalism, these days ..
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Another hack question on: 2005 September 22, 01:50:17
My sim-kids live on muffins.  Parents are too busy doing other stuff to make food for them.  Come to think of it, my sim-parents rarely interact with their kids ...  Undecided
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: telephone answering machines for sims on: 2005 September 22, 01:06:40
Yes .. my Sims need to exit the stone age and purchase an answering machine.  Or how about a message pad for those stupid "Is Johnny home?" calls.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: It's an OT party!!!! on: 2005 September 21, 18:44:44
I feel so plain and ordinary, now, just having the two cats.  We had a dog, too, but had to put her down last year :/.

We took care of a friend's ferret and another friend's iguanna for a while.  They scared the hell out of me.  The iguanna hated us, would posture and attack the glass of his tank whenever we were in the room, and bit my hand when I was putting food in it's tank.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Matchmaker Madness on: 2005 September 21, 18:34:10
Even so, you'll probably get a townie that you think is unattractive, regardless of what your Sim thinks.

Well, that goes for any townie, really, doesn't it?
