It's installed and I updated the drivers last night. I also downloaded a directx 'redist' thingie which should include dirextx9 but it's still not working and I have no idea where to look if the directx9 is actually installed now since I only see the directx11. Product Current Installed Driver Latest Driver Update NVIDIA GeForce GT 230 195.62 Your PC currently has the latest driver installed for your GPU. No driver update is necessary at this time. I miss my old computer and xp Is this card even compatible with TS2?

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Technical Issue
|
on: 2010 January 10, 00:23:09
|
Last week, my computer died on me so I had to buy a new one with a limited budget. (The old one was 5 years old and beyond repair according to the tech guy). I spend two hours installing TS2 and all the ep's, sp's and patches only to get this message:
"Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer."
I thought my new one would be fine running TS2 seeing as the old one ran great until it didn't do anything anymore. I already updated the drivers on the video card and tried installing directx9, but apparently it won't install over directx11. Anyway, here is a fragment of the dxdiag text:

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds
|

This game reaches a whole new level of craptastic. Whereas the change from TS1 to TS2 was awesome (better graphics, better gameplay, better interface), the change to TS3 is a major setback imho. The sims are awful (and I'm not one of those face1 type lovers), the interface sucks majorly and the entire build/buy mode is even crappier than the TS1 one. If there was no TS2, I'd rather play TS1 than this non-game. I'm going to unpre-order immediatly and throw this piece of crap off my precious computer!

I'll be downloading then, so thanks in advance I know what you mean about actually starting to play. I'm so anal about everything, every single house and sim must be made-over before I can start to play, and there's a lot of houses and sims in this hood

I started working on a downtown template with the Tricous and Rainelle Neengia living and in the sim bin. It never got finished. If I do finish it eventually, those sims would have blank wants and fears (they'll appear eventually) and there would be no family descriptions 'cause I can't think of anything witty enough. Would you be interested in it? It's not a whole lot of work at all, but I'm lazy.
I would be interesting if you or anyone fixed it, but I really don't want to bug anyone. I've started over and I will just let the Tricous and Rainelle rest in peace for now. I was thinking about removing the memories with Simpe, but I was afraid that my game would become a BFBVFS (or something like that). If you ever have the time and feel the need to fix the template, I will be downloading it About that dormie that can't be married. Are there hacks involved? I've had the problem myself a while ago and I remember it was because of some outdated hacks.

I have some kind of problem. I don't know if it's because of me or not. I started to play your hood and wanted to resurrect the Tricous from downtown. I used insim to do it. I got them resurrected, but when checking their memories, I noticed they all got memories of the other family members dying and getting an inheritance from little Beau Broke (I didn't play the Brokes before). I tried to remove those memoires using the lotdebugger but for some reason they stayed. I've started over because I didn't really know what problems would come from it. I just thought you'd like to know. Thanks for all the work you have done on this hood, you totally rock!

I'd love to contribute too, but I'm not from US or Canada too. This is only a suggestion, but is it not possible to open up a paypal account where all of us who can't but want to contribute could send money too and this account could then be used to buy the store crap? I hope I'm making sense here, I think I just made a very weird sentence

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you organize your CC?
|

Yes to both. I also combine all my package files. Say I get a dress with a mesh and four recolours, I use SimPE to combine all four files into one. It makes it so much easier and there are no abandoned meshes (plus a lot less files to muddle through. I do the same with hair and multiple recolours of maxis objects etc. I have 735 (probably without combining it would be over 2000) files in 55 folders.
Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to do this? I'm a maniac when it comes to my downloadfolder, and this seems to be the perfect solution for the headaches it gives me sometimes.

Is someone still working on them to make them compatible with TS2? I remember when it just came out everyone was going to give it a go, but I never heard of it again. I've tried a lot of times, and sadly it never worked So I was just wondering if there are any people who got them to work, and are maybe willing to share them

I was wondering if this is possible? I've merged all hoods together, and I deleted all of the excess townies and other rubbish, but I don't like the fact that my characters files aren't numbered correctly anymore now. I'm a freak, I know, but can I change those numbers without screwing up my game?

I was wondering which option would be best for not having a corrupted hood too soon. I currently have a hood that has 6 subhoods attached to it. Is it best to let it stay that way, or should I better move all sims to the main hood and delete as many hoods as possible?

I took al those three steps (several times in fact The last time I printed the whole tutorial out so I would be sure I did every single step but still nothing. As I said , it worked for me before Seasons, I had no trouble merging hoods using your method, but now I just can't get Riverblossom to show up as a template. I can't get any of the other hoods show up either Anyway, thanks for trying to help me

I've tried your tutorial before, and it worked like a charm, but now that I'm trying to add Riverblossom, it doesn't work as it's supposed to be. I've tried it several ways, I've tried to attach it as a suburb to my original (unplayed) merged hood, I've tried from scratch using Pleasantvieuw as main hood and tried it again using Riverblossom itself as main hood. I just can't change the default templates anymore. Is something that might have been changed with adding Seasons? Or am I a complete idiot who forgets the same step over and over again? Has anyone else tried it yet and got it to work?

I have a question for everyone that knows something of SC4. I just bought a copy of it because I wanted to make my own hood for all the Sims of PV,ST,VV and Bluewater Village. Now I was wondering if there's a way to place those terrains in SC4 and then combine them with a sort of ingame-feature?
