1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Endlessly Raking Gardener on: 2007 December 28, 01:18:25
Raking itself isn't much of a problem, but the gardener insists on throwing out every pile of leaves individually. Because of this, even a couple trees is too much. However, when Sims macro-> garden, they leave the piles where they are. If the gardener would do that, s/he would be able to finish.
2  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: I seem to have an immortal sim. on: 2007 December 23, 19:16:48
I've had the same interaction problem. Delete her with move objects on, save the game, exit the lot, return to the lot. She should be standing by the mailbox and fixed.
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The stupid trees are back! on: 2007 December 23, 19:14:04
Do I just delete the group.cache file to clear it? Or do I have to do some strange doohikery in SimPE?
You just need to delete it.

5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Idea: "Arousal" meter on: 2007 December 18, 22:04:26
I was thinking more of sleep deprivation than anything. People don't tend to have much time for their marriage when they have babies and toddlers.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: releasing SimPE - soon on: 2007 December 18, 22:00:10
It's funny how every online community seems to harbor a contingent of drama sheeple. There must be a school somewhere that they all attend.

The Sims 2 has a particularly large and prestigious school.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Straf#@!! TS2Ehn. on: 2007 December 18, 21:58:01
...don't use unsupported buggy crashware?

Precisely.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Would this result in a BFBVFS? on: 2007 December 18, 10:23:18
Thanks for the suggestions, Ziggy and Rowan. I forgot about All About Style.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Would this result in a BFBVFS? on: 2007 December 17, 21:32:26
Thanks cabelle! Unfortunately they'll still be stuck with EAxis clothes, but this is certainly an improvement.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Would this result in a BFBVFS? on: 2007 December 17, 21:04:18
I like elders. They tend to roll nice big value wants; they're usually permaplat, but they can buy all sorts of aspiration rewards for their kids, and besides, I like getting points. They're also great at childrearing. I just wish they had a wider selection of clothing.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: releasing SimPE - soon on: 2007 December 17, 20:52:33
He hasn't felt moved to address anything other than the announcement of the pre-release.

Ugh. Can we have developers who actually deign to talk to people next time? Roll Eyes

I don't know how to edit careers, sorry Undecided.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Idea: "Arousal" meter on: 2007 December 17, 20:40:34
It would be cool if the attraction would go up and down over time. Also, it should plummet while Sims have babies and toddlers. I like that Sims moon over their spouses as elders, it seems realistic to me.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of the cow mascot costume in the main hood? on: 2007 December 17, 20:36:01
If you zombify him, he'll wear casual clothes -- and a cow head. If my experience is anything to go by, he'll also become a lot nicer, though his personality points won't improve. Oh, and he'll still show up everywhere. I like my zombie cow though Grin.
14  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Default Names Project - ROUND ONE - Fire at will! on: 2007 December 16, 23:27:20
I'd be happy with Jan as a boy's name. Other names that can be used for either sex include Kelly, Robin, Marion, Jamie and Jessie. But of course you're not going to be able to please everyone; I absolutely hate "Aura, Lyric, Sunshine, Rainbow, Rayne, Storm, Nirvana, Fantasy, Spirit, Promise, Freedom, Hope, Breezy, Starlight, Jazz, Joy, Moonshine, Hawk, Trinity, Journey, Skye & Blossom" for instance. Tongue
15  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Simkid wants friendship with self - BFBVFS? on: 2007 December 15, 23:46:17
Wasn't there a "met self" bug with the bar that caused a BFBVFS? I'd be worried it would have the same effect.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Too many mean sims on: 2007 December 15, 06:45:29
You have a buyable newspaper, Pescado?  Do I need to go poke Gwill so that I can leave my sims' personalities un-screwed-with?

Yes, yes, I know there's probably a better word/term to use than "un-screwed-with", but there's a reason I teach maths, and I just can't think of one right now!
Unadulterated?

Doesn't seem quite right.  More suggestions?

I'm also a little disturbed at putting a package named "weirdo" in my game with no clear knowledge of what it actually does.

I'd probably just say "as is".

Also, "weirdo"? Cheesy
17  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Default Names Project - ROUND ONE - Fire at will! on: 2007 December 14, 21:31:47
The only names that would really annoy me are "Hiawatha" & "Jan" as male first names.  I would consider both of those names to be female.

Hiawatha and Jan Van Eyck would be rather surprised to hear you say that Tongue.

I get lots of names from http://www.zoope.com/about/about_names.html.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: releasing SimPE - soon on: 2007 December 13, 21:55:00
Second-guessing what's going on behind the scenes gets no one anywhere. What we know is that Quaxi is not working on SimPE at the moment, that you and Peter seem to be the natural ones to take over, and that if you're willing to do it we'll all be very grateful.

I didn't know Quaxi was so loathe to communicate. That's seriously messed up for the maker of the most important tool in a large modding community. It's all very well to say, "it's free, shut up," but that doesn't negate personal responsibility, community spirit and common decency Angry.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: releasing SimPE - soon on: 2007 December 13, 11:23:41
Wow. Have you talked to anyone whom you know to be close to Quaxi? Numenor, maybe?
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: More bullshit from Massive Shithead on: 2007 December 12, 21:29:47
My biggest phone annoyance right now, though, is creditors calling for the person who had this number before us. Grrr. Ever try convincing a creditor that the person they are looking for doesn't live there?

YES.

We have told them about 4 times now that there is no Arthur Winjay Moose here. And that the name doesn't sound real anyway. When we actually manage to get hold of a real person, the calls stop for about 3 weeks, then start again. It makes me consider supporting Pescado's rocket launchers for all stance.

At least the people trying to sell us satellite dishes and claiming they have a great way to refinance our house have stopped. "We live in an apartment, take us off your list," didn't work, but the Do Not Call list did. So far, anyway.
21  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Face Templates - Updated 2007-12-09 - #17 Added (Thanks Gwill) on: 2007 December 12, 21:23:27
My dormies use my replacement templates and CC as well.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Idea: "Arousal" meter on: 2007 December 12, 21:06:53
Headmasters love my kitchens. They seem to like expensive counters.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: releasing SimPE - soon on: 2007 December 12, 21:05:07
Exactly, and you shouldn't have to figure it out. I don't like all this Mission Impossible garbage. This community is ridiculous enough without people using mouthpieces to say what they should be saying themselves.

Well, I'm obviously not in your position anyway. I wish I could program, but I can't, I can only say that if you were to decide to keep on with updating SimPE I'd support you.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: releasing SimPE - soon on: 2007 December 12, 20:55:17
I thought SimPE was open source. Also, the author has apparently taken down his forum. This is a program people depend on, and I think you and Peter continuing the work is completely legitimate, bleatings of random person notwithstanding. If Quaxi has a problem, Quaxi should be the one contacting you.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Myths, urban legends.... and alien abduction on: 2007 December 12, 03:00:46
Knowledge sims should probably like it and roll wants to be tazed.
So true. Tazing really is fun! I've developed a hefty resistance to it as a result.

Thanks a bunch for the image that just flashed into my head, featuring Pes, Mrs. Pes, and a cattle prod Tongue.
