1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: wut EPs are teh bestest? on: 2009 April 06, 18:03:00
OFB is a glorified stuff pack to me.  I love the Body shop items and the build/buy mode items, but I stopped dealing with the business aspects of the pack after a month.  I have an anti stuff pack stance, but after looking at what I just said about OFB, I may get a stuff pack one day.  What is the penultimate stuff pack?

Mim, please explain halves testing to me.  I do need to refresh my CAS thumbnails.   I don't think I have even seen the clothes in question properly in my game.

Oh I got the sweater vests and the skirts at Garden of Shadows.

Marhis, that's how I found out something wasn't right about the mesh.  I made a sim in CAS and threw the two inch skirt on her.  When I moved her into a house, the skirt looked like it does in the buy preview.

I have a few pieces of clothing in Bodyshop/CAS that don't show up properly in my game.  The outfits in question look like when you put a short skirt texture on a long skirt mesh back in the TS1 days. Other outfits don't show any non-maxis 3D details.(will take pics later)   I have the needed meshes.  I've made sure the meshes and recolors are compatible with the EPs I have.  What the hell is going on?  How can I fix this problem?
BTW:I compress my files before I put them in the game.

CAS/Bodyshop version

Wacky in game version

5  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Download Appearence Order on: 2008 July 21, 18:35:15
Is there or reason behind the order in which download appear in bodyshop/CAS?  I'm going to take some questionable files and knowing will help me find them.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Because I suck at Knowing Names... on: 2008 March 27, 07:02:38
I think it is one that Carrigon made. For doing witchraft? I got rid of that download a while ago. I do still have the decorative books, though.

EDIT: Actually, it was at verystrangesims.com, I think. Should be able to find it at the Sims 2 Graveyard.

I think that's what I'm talking about.  Did it have commands like kill my victom and make so and so pee?  I don't want to go to Sims Graveyard because I have a copy of the file.

Zazazu, I will take pictures post haste.  Hopefuly, the picture don't turn put super shitty.

What is the name of the apsiratio object that in an alter with books on top of it?  I have a hacked version or it, but I can't hind it in my back up folder.
8  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: I Broke a Bunch of Crap on: 2008 March 01, 22:13:44
Lum, I've read that BV packaging bugs Delphy's problem doesn't always read duplicate files well.  I lost a few files that way.

Witch, I was unable to move or delete some files when I used Delphy's problem in the past.  Does that mean those fiiles may have been jacked up?

1.My computer is having memory problems again and I would like to know how to fix this without reinstalling the game or moving around my downloads.

2.My clean installed is borked.  I don't have problems installing sims and lots.  However, when I check my downloads for duplicate, none of the duplicates are highlighted.  Can I fix this on my own?  I've reinstalled this program multiple times, but that doesn't help.  BTW I brought up this problem on the clean installer board, but I haven't gotten a response in two months.

I was going to ask about Free Time, but I'm not buying that game for a long while.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Trailer trash/ Chav names on: 2008 February 05, 17:53:00
I think you should go in the opposite direction and use stupid rich people names like Gadge, Strobe, Honor or Truly.

I wish more people would use baby name books, no mater their social class.  Sad
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Question about BV souvenir shelf boost on: 2007 November 25, 18:38:13
I've read somewhere that 5 seashells on souvenir shelf actually make bladder decay faster

Someone at EA saw Demolition Man may too many times.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Lock up Issues (I FAIL at installation~!) on: 2007 October 07, 14:46:21
I bought Bon Voyage at the beginning of last week.  When the key screen popped up, my keyboard locked up.  Yesterday, I exchanged my copy of BV with the hope of actually installing the game.  When I tried to install Bon Voyage this morning, my keyboard locked up at the code screen.  I thought a clean install would solve the problem, but when I put in the Sims 2 DVD, my keyboard locked up for the third time today.  What is going on with my computer and how can I fix it?

Update: I told my brother about my problems and he thought there might be an issue with my DVD drive.  He hocked up his extra combo drive to my computer and the same stuff is happening.  I don't see any characters pop up when I type in the code box.

I believe a program I tried to install between Seasons and Bon Voyage borked my ability to type in the registration box of my Sims 2 game.  Someone else is going to reinstall windows altogether.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can Sound Errors Cause Game to Crash? on: 2007 September 14, 20:46:16
We had a few of the screens at work start doing that the other week. Dell machines. Turned out to be a problem on the motherboards.

What?  I have a dell
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can Sound Errors Cause Game to Crash? on: 2007 September 14, 18:37:58
Did you put in an ATI card? I have had this happen to me from time to time. I thought it was the card itself, or maybe the motherboard, but if you are having it happen occasionally too...

I have an ATI card and I'm having the same problems as KellyQ.  What'd possibly going on?

This has happened to me too, and it is utterly baffling. I always end up having to turn off the computer. I'm using a Radeon 9200. Piece of shit, yes, but what's sad is the intergrated card doesn't do the shit that this card does. Sad

I have the same/simular video card.  The same card my brother made the main video card for my computer!

Is it the monitor that is shutting down, or does your PC itself shut down too?  Have you checked all the settings that the video card has, just in case there is something not right there.  Just suggestions, not at all sure if they are any use, but sometimes these settings get altered.  I had this problem when Windows Update decided I ought to install the world time clock update - and when I did, all my settings had been completely lost.  I had to do a system restore to get them back and informed the updater it could keep the darned clock update!

What setting should I check and alter?
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Remote Installation on: 2007 August 27, 03:00:33
The connection to the drive may be a fire wire connect unless my brother puts the drive in my tower.  The only reason I'm thinking about this is my brother refuses to reinstall my video card.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Remote Installation on: 2007 August 26, 23:27:47
I want to reinstall my game on an exturnal harddrive and I would like advice on how to do this right.  I want to have both EA folders on the exturnal drive.  I also want to avoid the My Documents folders mimicing each other.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Playing with fridge on: 2007 July 24, 05:43:00
water wiggler?  I don't have any stuff packs.

BTW Didn't these dumb ass sims see the episode of Punky Brewster when the kid got stuck in the fridge and almost died?
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Play Style: The Nitty Gritty on: 2007 July 20, 14:29:53
How do you play? Please include details such as:

- are you more into building lots, decorating lots, creating sims, or playing families?
creating sims, amd playing families

- lots: do you play highly decorated, with walls up/cutaway, with a focus on 'whoever has the most toys wins"? Or do you play barely decorated, walls down, with a focus on interractions/spawning?
Even though I focus on family play, I like well decorated and furnished lots.

- is genetics your thing? Do you like watching spawns, and spawns of spawns for how they turn out? Or do you barely get through one generation before you're off to the next family?
I like watching how spawns turn out.  I like to use genetics to make sims in CAS.

- do you build lots of hoods, or have you been playing one or two hoods forever?
I play one custome hood that is made to look like the upper middle class section of my city.

- in terms of what your sims do: are you into relationships and interractions, or are you more into how they skill and climb the corporate ladders?
I put an equal focus on skill building and personal relations.

- do you play lots of community lots, or are your sims homebodies?
My sims are homebodies because it's easier to control them at home.

-city/country/suburban?
suburban

- do you do themes? (aliens, medieval, Victorian)
Nope, just a hodge podge of different styles.

- do you play with pets?
I just started to play pets.

- do you do the vamp/werewolf/alien/zombie thing, or are you more a 'real person' player?
I'm a real person player, but the real people can be real...umm...

- hacks: do you like to make life simpler or harder? insim? inteen?
I have a bunch of hacks in my game to cut down on anoyences(sp?)

-custom content: lots or a little? what do you have the most of?
I can't imagine my game without CC.  My CC ratio is pretty even.

- and finally, if you share your creations...what do you create
I'm the 1,562,356,162,813th person that creates womens' clothes.  I like to play fashion designer, so I tend to create what I'd like women to wear insted of what women actualy wear.  I also recolor hair.  I'd like to recolor objects, but I'm still tramatized from Sims 1.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Neighborhood Screen Hell on: 2007 July 20, 13:49:25
jfade, it worked after knocking down my unpreped/useless lots.(and a reboot)
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Neighborhood Screen Hell on: 2007 July 10, 18:14:04
The problem could be that the game is not compatible with the new driver. You may have to roll back to an earlier version of the driver.

If I go back to an older driver, the game may not load.  My game wash freazing and crashing before the update.

When my brother reinstalled XP he made the video card my computer's primary video source.  Could this factor in to my problems?

BTW, my card is a RADEON 9200 SERIES [Display adapter] RADEON 9200 SERIES - Secondary [Display adapter]
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Neighborhood Screen Hell on: 2007 July 03, 15:33:06
When's the last time you updated the drivers for your video card?
I had some strange problems like that before, and that's what my problem was.
Worth a try, since it doesn't cost anything. Smiley

I updated my drivers not around a month ago.  Whenever my video card needs new drivers, I get the slowest game ever.  Will deleteing cgen help at all? (I delete groups and accessories after I play or open bodyshop)
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Neighborhood Screen Hell on: 2007 July 02, 16:07:22
The hood in questio uses a maxis supplied template.  I don't have any maxis or comunity patches.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Neighborhood Screen Hell on: 2007 July 01, 00:54:52
For the last five days, all hell breaks loose when I go to the neighborhood screen.  At least a third my lots are flashing red blocks and the camara moves 30 seconds slower.  Sometimes when the lot are flashing, the game controls are a block white mess.

1)What is causing this?
2)How can I fix this?
3)Should I just zap the neighborhood in question?
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hair files in Skintones on: 2007 July 01, 00:37:03
I know what the means, it means the hair creator messed up.  I did this myself recently.  I managed to set a flag for the hair as a skintone, and it caused a few minor problems like that.  Recoloring it would not help, as the recolors would do the same thing.  I had to go back to SimPE and Theo's color binning tool to fix it.  Find the custom created hair responsible and either fix it in SimPE, get the creator to do it for you, or delete it.  Janna used to do something similar, way back before any expansions existed yet.

The hair textures in question belong too Old/TSR Janna creations.  Now I have to look up the file, so I can chuck it.  I think I set a hair flag for a skintone during my nood days of dinning.

25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Hair files in Skintones on: 2007 June 27, 20:36:52
I opened a skin file in bodyshop and when I looked at the files, I found three male hair files.  I would like to know what causes this to happen.  In a related note:I see the same three male hair textures on blonde male sims in various stages of baldness.
