Don't you normally crop the picture anyway? Otherwise you get all sorts of stuff that you don't want in the picture, stuff that is potentially incriminating.

Like the teleporter painting hanging on the wall, yupyupyup. I frequently crop just for better framing and (again) smaller file sizes for the finished images.

I recently upgraded to a widescreen flat monitor and am also now having the aggravation that "what I see" and "what is captured in the screenshot" is slightly different, with a strip being added to the top of every shot that often unbalances the framing the scene, or captures things like the stairwell openings in my ceiling tiles. Bah!

What's wrong with TAB and Printscreen?
I'd also volunteer that Printscreen & TAB is only a viable option if you have a good PC. My old laptop took a good 20 minutes to TAB out. Addison takes a second on a bad day.

I'll second that! I have a 6 year old P4 1.7GHz machine, with it's max of 1 GB of RAM, and I force the poor thing to deal with around ~6-10GB of downloads (just did a cull the other day and haven't run a recount of file size yet).  On the (thankfully rare) occasions when I do need to toggle to desktop for some reason (such as to start up the aforementioned Sim Camera), it takes for-freakin'-ever.

I really need to run another cull. Even after getting rid of the insane poly count downloads from Caravan Shop and a bunch of "nice, but I never use that..." stuff, my game loading time is still in the "start it loading, go do something else for an hour" range.

And yeah, I know of F10, but it's easier to just ignore the UI, point, and shoot. And the red pause frame, as far as I recall, remains up even when F10 is used. Yes, I know there's a hack to remove the red frame too, but why do all of that when the in game camera is adequate?

Why the *heck* are you still using the in-game camera?

It's free, the pictures are big enough and high enough quality for my current purposes (in fact, part of my own post-processing drops the .jpg quality in favor of smaller file sizes), it automatically subtracts the UI, which screen cap utilities don't... and for those times when I actually do want the UI and/or a bigger image (such as when making set preview pics of my objects), I still have a copy of Sims Camera floating around on my desktop Wink

Now if someone figured out how to make a hack that made the in-game camera take screen-resolution screenshots, with a toggle for turning the UI capture on or off - and maybe with that annoying camera flash firmly squelched - now that I would want!

And now back to re-shooting what I can of what got borked yesterday by the bug... *Grumbles about not being able to set age -> baby so she can replay a birthday*

Just stumbled over a thoroughly nasty bug with FreeTime (well, nasty if you use the Sims to write stories) and am really hoping someone here has already heard of it and squished it, or knows where it has been squished, or can squish it.

Basically, when you use the job-reward drafting table to create a sketch, it leaves the screenshot shader set to the "sketch" mode until such time as you do something to reset it, such as exiting the game or using the BV camera. I used the drafting table in one house to have the inhabitant make a sketch of his building, and three houses later had someone take a picture using the BV camera. Every single screenshot taken between those two points came out like the samples in the attached rar.

Just a note, the cs_bedding file has two of the bedding textures set to default=true, which (somewhat annoyingly) makes one of the two end up being the default bedding for all your beds.

Edit: If you're using the fix where custom skins use the S3 werewolf texture, this should hopefully do the trick.

Yes, I'm using the fix from Peasantry by pioupiou.

Tried this in game, I'm getting mixed results - some werewolves are showing up with the werewolf eyes still, others are showing their custom eyes. I'm not sure why the mix, unless it could be related to the fact that some of my werewolves are using default skins and some are using the custom skin?

Thanks so much!

I hate the way werewolf eye colours change to the same identical ugly yellow colour. Given how hard they are to tell apart in screenshots already (the males particularly), I was wondering if it's possible to have their eyes not change? Anyone aware of a hack already out to do this? Or of what would be entailed in creating one? I use custom skins extensively so it would also need to be something compatible with or replacing the custom werewolf skin fix from here.

No eat crap should work with a hack that would cause sims to put their half-a-plate of uneaten sparkly food back in the fridge.

Yeah, that'd be nice! And speaking of noeatcrap, I think it might need an update for Seasons - almost all my sims, regardless of neatness/slobbiness, are eating beyond when their bar is 100% full and then standing up and getting fat. This seems to happen only with the sparkly food, so I'm guessing totally at random that the extra food value of "fresh" meals is missing from the calculations about how much they can actually safely eat without exploding out of their clothes?

I don't understand why sim kids can't get leftovers autonomously, instead of getting the message that "Sharla is just skin and bones! You'd better feed this kid before the Social Worker takes her away!"

I'd love to see that also - it annoys me to no end that here I have a fridge full of leftovers (most of which I took the time to put into the firdge as individual plates, not serving platters),  and the kids, on the very rare occasions they do grab food autonomously from the fridge, they get cookies or chips, not leftovers. Okay granted with a lot of kids that actually is more realistic... I'd rather they grabbed leftovers! I can remember snacking on leftovers quite happily as a kid, after all (mmm, leftover chili or spagetti made into jaffles...)

I also think hungry adults should grab leftover food in preference to cooking new meals when they do autonomous hunger-fulfilling.

Another couple of things I noticed today: in buy mode under Linoleum, my "Lapitoh green" (sp?) flooring has turned into an exact match of the "Lapitoh sand" flooring.

And when setting hairsyles on a toddler, I noticed in the outerwear hair styles that there's one knit hat where all four hair recolours are showing up in the same bin..

It must be the backdrop, as that's the only one of the three you mention that I don't have and my fountain works fine.

Sweet, and yup, I had those Targa objects too - have removed the backdrops now, hopefully I can now resume using fountains without the game coughing up a hairball about them.

Thanks!

Fixes like this are porbably the #1 reason that any time I visit MATY looking for one thing, I end up going home with a half dozen other things... thank you for this, every time I've sent my sims clothing shopping or been setting up their wardrobe after a transition, I've been cursing the stupidity of Outerwear not having been retrofitted to existing outfits Smiley

Had an interesting (read: frustrating as *&%@#) bug show up in my neighborhood. I'd made and furnished a house, and moved in a family - 1 servo, 2 children, and 4 toddlers. The servo and toddlers seemed fine but the children when in free will mode would just stand around doing diddly-squat and often jump out of queued-up interactions. Thought they were bugged somehow and restored them from a backup of them on a different (empty) lot, they were fine there, moved them into the hosue again, and again they stoped working.

Had testingcheatsenabled on at one point and noticed they were generating an object error file every few seconds, so I checked the files. Turns out there was something wrong with one of the new objects, the little tiered bowl fountain (forget the name... Holy something-or-other) - as soon as I deleted it from my lot, the kids returned to normal. GRRRRR....

Now I just have to figure out why none of the toddlers have wants... three fears, zero wants, on all of them.
