1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / TS3 Patch 1.34 on: 2012 June 01, 19:44:09
So the patch is out. Its included in the Katy Perry Sweet Treats thing. (Local store broke street date, and I gave in. Shut up.) Imagine that it will be out soon to everyone else, probably June 6 if not sooner.

Thing is huge... 962MB. I understand that it fixes Showtime stuff.

2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Decrapify made store lots disappear from the Library folder on: 2011 October 19, 15:36:28
Actually, the same thing happened to me. Everything was working fine, then I added some new stuff and decided to decaprify it. But then a bunch of Riverview buildings went missing. And it was just Riverview, everything else was working fine. Eventually, I just opened a new Riverview, added the missing buildings to my library, and plopped said buildings on old Riverview. Problem solved.

Will the neighborhood eventually be destroyed in a ball of fire? Dunno. I'm overall less attached to sims 3 worlds. If this had happened in Sims 2, I'd be pissed.
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Still planing with TS2 anyone ? on: 2010 June 07, 15:58:32
Still love TS2. I had to reinstall after a crash and took extraordinary measures to save my old neighborhoods. There's stuff in TS2 I still haven't done. Like, I'm only now just getting into plantsims and werewolves.

As for TS3, I hadn't played for months until I installed Ambitions. I'm trying to get into it, but I can tell I'll be bored of it soon enough.

What's more, I can't bring myself to care about my sims. I've reinstalled TS3 often and nuke neighborhoods all the time, without shedding a single tear. In TS2, I have an elaborate family tree going on strong since 2006 or so.

4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What in the world is it about the game that makes it so badly optimized? on: 2010 June 01, 17:45:46
Do what I did and crawl back to Sims 2. You know you want to.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The definitive EA Store Set & Guide? on: 2010 April 13, 23:44:57
I nth the request. I would be content with clear, spelled-out instructions on step 1, step 2, ect. On the rare occasions I try download new things, its like I have to learn the process all over again because suddenly the info is outdated or I got the wrong thread.

After the guide is done, maybe Pes could lock the thread, make it a sticky and send all the noobs there. It would eliminate a LOT of confusion.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims 3 crashing on: 2010 March 15, 02:20:46
Well, you didn't mention if you have any expansion packs or just the base game. Is the game legit or not? Did you patch? Because my game used to crash occasionally, but after a few patches, it just kinda went away.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patching problem for Sims 3 on: 2010 January 16, 18:12:19
I have a legit base game (properly patched) and arr'd WA. WA didn't even want to install because of wrong region. Changed base game to 2 and it installed.

Then it didn't want to patch through EA installer, so I found all the patches released and installed them one by one ---2.0, then 2.2, then the final one. Worked just fine. BUT I didn't use the crack for WA, I used the real exe, so watch out for that.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: a new world, Coconut Island on: 2010 January 10, 22:09:35
Been testing this world; the underground cemetery was a stroke of genius. The only thing I would add is a bookshop to buy recipes, but I'll live.
9  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 10, 22:34:22
Back to the babby issue:

Why not make something like 'breed like rabbits until X number of sims is reached' (enough to create a sustainable population), then for every sim elder or any other sim that kicks the bucket, have someone somewhere have a baby to replace the dead sim, so that the population remains constant.

As for the Job engine that also creates sims... well, I don't know, you're the Awesome ones, y'all would figure out something. Maybe pick an already existing sim to fill the vacancy so the engine doesn't create new ones unless somebody else dies?

(This would be very fun if we had a random death mod that killed and killed often. Random death has been a dream of mine since Sims 2.)
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Traits Cheat Sheet - Work in Progress on: 2009 August 10, 02:21:15
I don't know if anyone has noticed, but one sim of mine has a 'Teeldeer' trait, as in TL;DR. It has a leaping deer and a wall of text for a description. His magic power is to bore people to sleep, sort of like 'No sense of humor' does, only supercharged.

He's a teen in Riverside, and I'm not sure if he came with the game or if he was born there...
11  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 09, 02:30:21
Since IndieMod is abandoned, why not swipe that code that allows the sims to breed regardless of cribs? That's how it worked when I had it. I liked reading how so-and-so got married and had kids. Since it happened to sims I didn't care about, they hooked up all the time.

(There should be some sort of change log or description to AwesomeStory. Yeah, there's the old Awesomemod manual, but that doesn't really explain the logic behind the moves. Like, how do we get new sims? Breed them? Do they move away sometimes? Like, what are the rules for the whole immigration thing? I understand that this is still being worked out, but there should be an faq eventually.)
12  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 08, 22:50:40
Two questions: where is the manual for AwesomeStory? I don't see it anywhere.

And two, does AwesomeStory have notifications? The only thing I really miss from IndieMod is the news that so-and-so moved, had baby, ect.
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch ponderings... on: 2009 August 01, 21:38:49
Hybrid, all patches worked ok. I did fiddle around for the first patch, but haven't had any problems for the second one.

In fact why the FUCK are you complaining about the game not working when you have MODS? if there are issues with pathfinding and you have a mod install TAKE A FUCKING WILD GUESS TO WHAT THE FUCK IS CREATING THE PROBLEM.

Not necessarily. Might be the type of mod. I patched with all my mods installed (awesome mod and the Indiemod that works with it), have a RLD to Razor and it patched just fine.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.3 Released on: 2009 July 31, 02:40:25
I ran the patch and it worked perfectly, even with all mods installed, because I live dangerously like that. Without running the game, I installed new awesome mod update, deleted scriptscache, then ran the game and it's still alive.

So, here's a helpful new voodoo spell: delete the scriptscache.

(Bare in mind I have a Reloaded-to-Razor that I had to fix way back with the first patch. So Reloaded/Razor users should probably look into that.)
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hours of load time. (Specs & Time updated) on: 2009 July 11, 14:20:14
At this point, maybe it's not the game at all. Even at my most bloated with a crappy video card, my game loaded under 5 minutes.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Apocalypse! How many are left? on: 2009 July 08, 01:48:15
I'm doing both at the same time. Over 300 GB of free space and a shiny new graphic card for the WIN!

I had to reinstall both games at the same time, so I'm starting at zero with both. I'm having loads of fun redoing Sims 2 houses and community lots, so when I switch back to Sims 3 I'm just... bored. Yeah, it has its moments, but I find myself logging off after an hour or less. With Sims 2, I can play all night.
18  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: 3Booter, the Incooperative Game Kicker on: 2009 July 04, 15:37:13
I've had a ATI Radeon 3850 installed last week. Is my video card good enough to be in the danger zone?

(Man, crap like this is why I'm sticking to Sims 2 til the bitter end.)

There are supernatural entities in the game; they're called ghosts.

Yeah, but they kinda suck. For me, I'd do anything to get alien abduction back at least. I would also love something like Makin' Magic, but I know it'll never happen.
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 29, 06:13:18
Well, if you have the Razor or the Reloaded to Razor versions and type 'help', a new command --at least, one I didn't see with the plain Rld version-- says something like 'toggle on/off toddler to grow up and become NPC'.

I'm guessing it means you can make a toddler grow up and make him uncontrollable? Sounds kinda interesting.

21  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Razor1911 release vs. Reloaded release on: 2009 May 28, 16:26:45
Tried to patch the 'Reloaded to Razor' thing I have in my game through the patch someone left on rapidfire, but it told me I had the wrong region. How else can I patch it? Can I change the region? Or should I just shrug and be on my way? Can't say Sims 3 is a priority for me.
22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 May 28, 15:18:23
This might be helpful info or not, but my ancient ATI Radeon 9600 with 1GB of pitiful RAM runs Sims 3 just fine (in mostly low settings, of course.) If I crank up for sim detail, special effects and lighting, but leave the town details on low, it looks presentable and good enough.

Hope to get a new video card over the summer, though.
23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 24, 21:03:39
Fun bit: Child Mortimer once sat down to play chess with a ghost. He didn't even look scared.

Still, game is boring me already.

How'd you get them to be able to kiss? I have a pair of sims up to "Y thinks X is very alluring" and they can woohoo all they like, but unless they're cuddling in bed (or presumably on the couch) the option to kiss is nowhere to be found.

That's exactly what happened to me later.

When the interaction showed up, they were best friends and I had the relationship panel all maxed out, since I had them talking and flirting for a few days before that. She had the kiss want for awhile; I didn't control the other sim, so I don't know if he had it too.

Like I said, I was spamming the romantic interactions, then the kiss/confess attraction showed up. I didn't go for it, so continued to spam flirt and other stuff, the other sim thought I was boring, so I blew it. It didn't show up again, no matter how much I tried. That's when I decided to sit them on the couch; kiss and cuddle showed up again, along with make out.

Same thing happened on the bed. However, they were able to kiss normally after kissing/makingout/whoohooing. In fact, I think they fell in love after making out in the couch, when confess attraction showed up again and I used it. Now I'm not sure...

If kiss isn't showing up for you outside the bed/couch, my pet theory is that there's some sort of one-shot deal thing involved between 'true love' and 'fuckbuddy'. Maybe if they don't comply with some sort of invisible love parameters, they stick to fuckbuddydom? Maybe if you don't use kiss right away, you lose it?

Dunno. Further tests are needed.

EDIT:

Well, okay, they're just at Friend status but I still expected a plain kiss to be available by now.

Maybe that's the problem. My couple was maxed out all the way to best friends when the kiss showed up.
25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Story Progression Toggle: Is it borked? on: 2009 May 22, 05:50:03
The more I think about it, the more I believe that the legacy-style gameplay really IS the intended was to play the game.

Yes, we can switch houses, but the option is hidden away in 'Edit Town', sort of like a last-resort option. That's why we lose the wishes and some sims move away if you don't use them. It's probably bad design, but switching households shouldn't have to have such dire consequences unless they wanted to discourage it.

Like I said on the 'HORROR' thread, this is starting to feel an awful lot like 'My life as a king' from the Wii and other similar tactical games, where you send your little people on missions and you twiddle your thumbs while waiting for them. You're not suppose to see the action, only buy them the right equipment.
