Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread

I thought someone requested this before, but I don't see it here. A robot's desire to scan a human queue stomps the human's queue, including waking them up if they are asleep. This is massively annoying.
Also, when a person travels from the future to the present, the records of which nanites have been reverse engineered are reset back to zero in the collection journal.
ETA: Locking the bedroom door keeps the robots from waking the sim up to scan them.

I have seen this. It's been a while, but I think I either went out to neighborhood view and back, or I switched to another household and back. When it happened to me, I hadn't adopted a pet, I just selected the pet, then it got stuck on the pet.
Not very helpful, I know.

I've seen some references to this problem here and there, but there doesn't seem to be any way to fix it. Sometimes, when a sim or bonehilda are making a bed, something happens to cause the bed to be unusable by anyone. You can send a sim to sleep in the bed, but they throw a thought bubble with the sim or bonehilda's face, stomp and drop the go-to-bed command out of their queue.
The only way I have found to fix it is to buy a new bed and delete the old one. I tried fixall, reset bed ownership, picking up the bed and putting it back down. None of those work.
Is there any way this can be fixed by awesome mod?

Yeah, I saw this and thought of Claeric. Remember when he was whining about wanting Sims on Steam?
If I didn't already have it all, I'd probably go for the bargain pack thingie.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Still planing with TS2 anyone ?

I have to say that I, too, have been drawn back into TS2. I think part of it is the lack of the attraction system in TS3. TS2 has more to do. Collecting is good in moderation, but it seems TS3 is heavily biased in that direction. The puddings are another turn off. They just look weird, especially after all the advances in skins and clothing in TS2.
I still play TS3 a bit, but I enjoy my TS2 game more.

Windows Update downloaded an update that crashed my whole system. I lost everything and had to reinstall the operating system. So I've played the game with AweomeMod before the crash and I will tell you, without the mod this game is pretty much a waste of money. I'm really disappointed, but thanks for trying to help me.
You might want to check for a rootkit on your PC, it seems MS patch 977165 causes BSOD if PC has Alureon malware rootkit.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: So you married a famous sim...why can't you stay in bed?

Pretty much all of my musical Sims, since day 1, have had the uncanny ability to hear and groove to mystical tunes at all times, day/night/in the bathroom/death vault/whatever. They can sleep through this psychic barrage themselves, but no one else can ever stand to share a bed with them as they ooze noise through their very pores. Hence, musical careers have been blitzed since the advent of Sims 3, at least for me anyhow...
AH! So, that's what that was. I had a sim marry Jon Lessen in Riverview. She could never sleep with him. I thought he snored or something, but I couldn't hear anything. I finally had to give them separate bedrooms.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bugs in WA
|

The only issue I have to report other than blue lots which is documented in another thread, is that I appear to now have a serial killer on the loose in my town. Since installing WA, I have now experienced two random, non-age related deaths in my town. I clicked on a house with a engaged couple and noticed it was only the man. I figured EA's story progression just moved her out or something but when I went into the house, he had a broken-hearted moodlet that said "from death of lover" or something like that. And he kept crying with her pic as the thought bubble. I rolled back to an earlier save and tossed it up to random weirdness. Then several days real time later I noticed the teenage son of a different family was missing. Went into that house, checked the family tree and his pic is greyed out like he died. And he's not in their relationship panel anymore.
On one hand, I've always thought this game needed MOAR DEATH. It seems much harder to kill off sims in TS3 than TS2. And the randomness of it (neither were old) I suppose could add a bit of suspense and uncertainty to the game. But I want to be God dammit! I want to decide who lives and dies. And how they die! Anyone else have this happen? A connection I do see between the deaths is that both families did go on vacation shortly before the "death". One to Egypt, one to China. But neither saw a mummy, so they couldn't have been cursed.
I suppose I could just pretend one of my evil sims is on a rampage.... Just gotta decide which one.
Do those lots have transporters on them? My sims have developed an unhealthy obsession with repairing the stupid things. I had two sims die that way. They might have had one handy skill point each. Now I have been obsessively calling the repair folk to make sure the things are not broken. It seems any random sim in the family will suddenly decide they are so handy they can fix the transporter. And even if you stop them, they will keep trying to return to it until they get shocked multiple times.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Cannot get some sims pregnant

I had to manually age both of them in their respective households. They remained toddlers, children etc until I made their household active at which point they automatically had a birthday and hit the next life stage. It's quite likely their underlying ages would put Methuselah to shame. I guess that the pollination logic is probably checking days old rather than if they're at the appropriate life stage to spawn.
I just remembered that I had a problem getting a woman pregnant recently. She had just aged up from YA to A. I finally gave up on the normal method and used twallen's pollinator. At first, it said she was too old to get pregnant. I thought "weird" and did something else for a while. When I came back to her later, I was able to impregnate her with the pollinator with no problem. Not sure that is any help to you, but there it is.

cefwyn, check your config file. I noticed the last time I updated my Mom's config file that Awesome storymode had been turned off and Indie storymode had been turned on. I know I did not do it as I never installed IS and I know she didn't do it because she wouldn't even know where to look. I just figured it was some glitch in the save, reconfigured and all was well.

When I get the cash, hopefully in the next 3-6 months, I intend to upgrade. I am not awesome enough to build my own machine, and neither is anyone I know IRL, so I'll have to find someone at some computer shop who'll build it for me. Or else buy an overpriced Alienware monster, which is tempting me due to all the bling. Don't let the bling fool you. The extra you pay for the overpriced Alienware bling may enable someone else to get you more RAM, a slightly better CPU or even a better graphics card for the same money. If you did know someone who could build a system for you, you would have done better as you probably wouldn't be paying for labour charges to assemble the machine and install the OS, etc to get it up and running for you. But on the flip side, a good computer shop will charge reasonable prices, and if they use OEM products, they are cheaper than full retail, it may offset some of the labour charges. When your ready to upgrade, make sure you do some good research first to make sure your going to get the best bang for your buck. Also, sadly, Alienware is now part of the evil Dell empire now ; independent no longer.

Just my 2 cents. I just got error12 tonight for the first time. I have had the game open most of the day, playing some and pausing some. I tried most of the suggestions here with no relief. Then I typed "resetallwants" in the cheat window. Was able to save and quit. Not sure what will happen tomorrow when I play again, but FWIW, there you go.
