TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Switching from single PT replacement to multi-PT
|
on: 2010 August 07, 09:18:04
|
At the moment I use a single PT replacement hack (the default sim gets replaced, that's it) but I'm looking into getting a multi-PT hack.
A warning I'm seeing on nearly all multi-PT hacks is never to remove the sim files if you install a new multi-PT, as this messes up the genetics in the game and leads to borked fambly tree business. However, my single PT hack has no seperate sim file that I could leave in the game if I would switch to a multi-PT hack. Would switching mess up my game because it cannot link to the single PT replacement, or should I be fine as it would just link back to the original Maxis PT?

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Entire TS2 game moving in slow motion?

How long have you let the game run through this slow motion problem? My game sometimes gets a lag that resembles what you're describing, and if I leave it to chew through whatever it is that's bothering the game for a minute, maybe two or three, it picks up again as if nothing happened.

And, IMO, the design tool is overrated. It made creating a house incredibly tediously slow, although it is fun if you're in a particularly creative mood. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. I've given TS3 several tries (I'm halfheartedly poking around in it again nowadays, but it still fails to capture my attention) but I just can't seem to get into it. TS2 however is something I always come back to. I tend to play in cycles, with frenzied playing being followed by months where I don't touch the game at all and do other stuff, but that's more to do with my attentionspan than the game. Considering how much I still play TS2, it's actually been a better investment than most games I buy, which get played through once or twice and then thrown into a box somewhere.

I doubt it, seeing as you are not influencing single roofs - you are still changing the angle of the entire roof, you're just fooling the game by deleting the roof you had so far and then restoring it as it was originally. It may look like you're changing one particular roof section, but this is not the case as far as game mechanics are concerned.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Quick way of changing style on multiple objects?
|
on: 2009 August 14, 12:28:25

I'm customising some houses I've downloaded, including changing the colour of windows etc. I was wondering if there's a way to change the style on ALL windows (of the same type) at once, because going in and changing them manually one by one is a damn slog. Even dragging the style one by one to 20+ windows takes frikkin ages.
I know you can bulldoze things by type (fence, objects, etc), so maybe there's something like this for create a style too?

After some more playing I noticed the latest storymods has made my sims too picky. Absolutely nobody has any available romance victims, except for the flirty ones (a grand total of two in the entire hood), who only seem to fool around, and don't get married.
Seems like the pendulum has swung too far to the non-romance side?

That makes sense There'd be a godawful spam if it popped up everytime a sim went to work, and sims not going to work was such a major annoyance I couldn't really believe Pescado hadn't fixed it at all. Cheers for explaining that to me. As I said, I don't mind a bit of adultery, it's only Pauline Wan who's up to it atm anyway. I'll have to check her traits and see if she's flirty / has commitment issues.

Rampant Romancing has been adequately squashed now, huzzah! Sims seem very picky now, and there's still some adultery going on, but that's allright for me.
Is the pop-up announcing a sim is going to work supposed to, erh, pop up everytime they do so? If this is the case, most of my neighbourhood just isn't going to work at all. No idea if storymod is supposed to finally fix this problem or not, though.

Anyone else notice rampant romancing with storymod? My sims seem to be a very unfaithful bunch, hopping from relationship to relationship. In the one week I've played, Jamie Jolina has been married three times, and a certain Norbert Watson is romancing at least half of the town, grannies included. I don't mind some drama, but I liked some of the couples that were thrown up and I really don't feel like trekking across the neighbourhood everytime some sims get frisky to punch them in the kidneys Just curious if this is just me or other people have this in their game, too.

It was still the bunny, but allright then, I'll stick with the iconic one Bonus: Stupid Pink NepheBunny. (or well, closest I could get) I don't really think pink is her colour.
