Can't find a file labeled skuversion and altering Default.ini does nothing. Here is the patched version of the demo originally uploaded by Sims Island. The only "cracked" part about it so far as I can tell is that they ran TS4CAS.par through this site which is supposed to remove the Origin requirement for games but does not work for this demo.

Games that haven't been properly released or leaked are all Lies and Propaganda, and threads regarding such are supposed to go in Retardo Land. But this demo seems more of a gray area to me, as it has been leaked in an ineffectual manner. On topic, Sims Island has made a breakthrough with the crack and it's now in "testing." The bad news is that the crack is for the updated demo, so yesterday's torrent is useless, and the demo will be in Portuguese. Their Facebook page is where they're posting updates. Facebook strikes me as an odd place to announce updates for your attempts at pirating video games, but kids these days do all sorts of crazy things.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Sound Issues Paradise Island

I can second the weird noise problem; the sound seems to cut in and out, regardless of speed, though the sound does come back when the game is paused. In my game it started the second day after installing Awesomemod, specifically after buying and using the gem cutting machine.
My scuba diving sim has also started peeing herself regularly since Awesomemod was installed. When underwater, the sim pees once the bladder bar drops to about 75%.

Has anyone tried sending a second generation to University? I sent the daughter of one of my sims and when she arrived her father had de-aged from elder to a teen in high school in the relationship panel. The sim also jumped back to her dorm when I sent her to the meet and greet, and it was so glitchy in general that I quit without saving. Not sure if this is due to PEBKAC or EA.

Playing a single sim in a new game for just over one week with 1.42 and the Nov 2 test version. I haven't had a crash yet. One bug that I have observed, which I suspect is EA's, is with meteor rocks. When a sim is directed to collect one, anything in the queue after gets canceled. Additionally, meteor rocks can no longer be analyzed; they can only be given as gifts or sold.

The specifications you've listed are perfectly fine for Windows 7. The processor is old, but I had Windows 7 on a computer with a C2D 6600 with a worse video card and had no problems. The only possible issue would be hard drive space, but assuming you have a desktop all you need to do is put in another hard drive for the new OS.

I've noticed the fun motive decaying while sims sleep. Selling objects in a sim's inventory seems buggy; I spawned a random selection of rocks/gems/metals, and after collecting them and selling them, each object would appear on the ground near the sim. Selling the object a second time by dragging from the ground as opposed to dragging from the inventory worked.
Not sure if this falls under bug or feature, but using the gem cutting object on tiberium produced some tiberium dust, and each tiberium dust pile spawned the large spire after a period of hours. My sim's net worth increased by 280,000 in the space of a day.

Is anyone else having their lots vanish?
I've been trying to make a themed world, with a lot of small residential lots to emulate an urban setting. The map I'm using is 1024x1024, and it has 146 lots total. Most of these lots are clones; I cloned the empty residential lots in CAW, then dropped in a bunch of identical houses in edit-in-game mode. The problem is that the blocks of lots I made last night vanished after I saved a a bunch of new lots in edit-in-game today. The missing lots were still present in the Lots folder, but did not appear on the map in CAW or in edit-in-game, and I could draw new lots on top of them in CAW.
So I loaded a back-up copy of the world, saved it with a new name, and went back into edit-in-game to drop in the new houses and community locations. I added in all the new stuff, everything looked fine in edit-in-game, I saved and quit, and when CAW reloaded the map, all of the old lots had vanished again. They still exist in the Lots folder, but I can't tell which lot is which and am not ready to experiment by swapping random files around.
