Pathetic.

Winchester Farming Community or another litle world here: http://www.mysimrealty.com/Sims3_Worlds.html
I've been playing with Winchester Farming for a while. No routing issues and no lag so far.
3  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2012 September 08, 22:37:35
Updated with latest test awesome mod, and this version seemed to give me a large influx of zombies.  At all times of day and night all over the place, I had a zombie party at my sims house.  Some kind zombie brought a boom box so they could dance and it was like a flash back to the thriller days.  I wasn't that crazy about the thriller/M. Jackson thing in 83, and to see it on my sims lot gave me flashes of 8th grade dances where every boy in the grade thought they could dance like M. Jackson.  Which, until he won one of those music awards and spoke, no one really liked M. Jackson in the same way.  Anyway, before this test version, didn't have the hoards of zombies, which at first was kind of cute, but the moaning and not doing much in the way of game play is just plain annoying to me now.  Just wondering if anyone else is having the same thing, or am I just being a zombie hater.  No other mods are in my game, just fyi.  On the other hand all other commands are working that I had a problem with on the last version.
I'm having the same issue on the partition where I installed the vanilla (and legit) game, no AwesomeMod, no mods, no CC. The problem seems to be one of the usual glitches by EA.

Oh my. You can decrapify without  decrapify.exe. You just need to use s3rc -fD. Ask Pescado.

Edit:
There are several posts about using the updated "decrapifying tool". Decrapify.exe hasn't been updated since 1/28/2010. S3rc.exe was updated on 7/22/11.
Furthermore:
NEW UPDATE
Can now compress and decompress Sims3Packs directly.

EXPERIMENTAL "DECRAPIFY" OPTION!
Invoke with "s3rc -fD" (fixonly, decrapify) OR "decrapify" (drag/drop FOR TARDS). Should fix all busted s3packs that don't install correctly in the launcher, like those old TSR ones.
Caveats:
1. Permanently and irreversibly alters the target package/s3pack. Due to the type of damage involved, the game will see the decrapified object as a seperate object from a non-decrapified object. Any saved game that used these objects or skins will be broken as a result, but...
2. If you decrapify objects, you must decrapify all of your SAVED GAMES (.nhd & .packages in your .sims3), PRESETS (userPresets.package), and LIBRARY.
3. DECRAPIFIED saved or exported items containing CRAPIFIED content will malfunction in a non-decrapified install.
4. THIS PROCEDURE IS EXPERIMENTAL!
5. decrapify exe requires s3rc exe to be accessible on path.

THEREFORE:
Do not share decrapified packages, only share original unmodified packages.
"decrapify" not available for Linux, because Linux users are not stupid enough to need it and can just use -fD by hand.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2012 August 17, 23:14:53
The recompressorizer compresses. The decrapper decraps. Two different things. You do need the recompressorizer in order to decrap though. What would make you think that you don't need the decrapper file to decrap. Your (tard) logic does not resemble our earth logic.

Interesting...

By the way, one other thing confused me about the instructions. I thought running decrapify.exe runs s3rc.exe -fD. Do we really need to run the sims3packs through s3rc.exe first before decrapify.exe?
Ignore Moryrie. Decrapify is the same thing as s3rc -fD, it's just a mini-application wrapper that calls s3rc -fD so that you can use it drag-and-drop style.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2012 August 17, 20:35:26
If '-fD' is a command (switch?) in the batch file (or there's some other command test in the s3rcbatch.cmd) that means 'run the program decrapify.exe' and the decrapify.exe program isn't in place, then the stuff might get compressed, but the store crap isn't going to get decrapped...  At least that was my thinking when suggesting that TinyBear double check to make sure all the necessary files were in place...  As I said, I'm no expert, I'm just sharing what worked for me.

Long story short: Decrapify is nothing more than an application wrapper that calls s3rc -fD. I assume it was created for people that want to drag-and-drop. So, you don't really need it if you're using directly s3rc -fD in the batch. S3rc.exe is the application that does the work.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2012 August 16, 23:53:10
I don't see that you listed the decrapify.exe as one of the files in your downloads folder...   I put my store files to be decrapped in a folder that has s3rcbatch.cmd, s3rc.exe and decrapify.exe and then double click to run the s3rcbatch...
Isn't decrapify.exe just a wrap for -fD?

There is a way to go around EA's strategy. Basically, if you find a lot in the Exchange that contains the fountain, it is possible to buy it without the hideous compilation.

Actually I don't feel that I've any restriction when using the Kindle. My library is on epub format so I convert to mobi with Calibre. The Kindle reads all those and is the only device I know that is "kind" to my eyes.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Laptop Recommendations? on: 2011 September 02, 23:55:21
If I take a laptop somewhere, it's going to be used for reading eBooks or for internet access.  I can wait until I get home to stir the Pudding.
Isn't a tablet enough for that? Why, for Jupiter's sake, would you need to drag a laptop around?

I know of a really great thing you can do to entertain yourself when away from your desktop PC. It's called a book. It was a fantastic invention in the realms of entertainment discovered many many years ago, and it has recently gone through some radical alterations. Now, not only can you carry a light weight collection of papers which contain words of education, enlightenment and entertainment, but you can also opt for technologically more advanced versions. You can carry an e-reader and have a library at your finger tips. You can opt for a library of audio books on your phone or mp3 player. You could even sell out and get an iPad.
You do not need to be permenantly attached to a computer to enjoy life.
Agreed. I travel from Florida to California almost every week, so I've an average of 4 books in my suitcase and my Kindle in my purse. What if I really, really, really want to play Sims 3?

The "this is what I have! It runs great!" posts are almost useless without specs and game setup. Game settings, CC, Expansions and Stuff Packs, plus the specs on the Laptop would probably be much more helpful, just saying. Google could supply the specs, but not the rest of that info.
OK. You can Google the Asus G73SW. I replaced the primary HDD with a 256GB SSD and I'm using a Seagate Momentus XT 500GB (hybrid) as 2nd HD. I've every EP and SP.

I still did not figure out how to inspect/view packages in s3pe if they weren't previously "compressorized"/"dragged into s3rc"
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Laptop Recommendations? on: 2011 September 02, 01:15:39
Good luck finding a laptop that can handle TS3 for more than a few minutes at a time without reaching temperatures dangerous to both laptop and lap.
I have an ASUS G73SW, Republic of Gamers. So far, TS3 does not cause temperature problems. I'm grateful: when I'm traveling, I do not want to add a cooler to its 8 pounds.
13  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: TS3 Recompressor on: 2011 August 29, 21:42:19
I was hoping that Pescado would answer this one since I still have some doubts. I can confirm, based on my experience,  only the following:
- Compressing (recompressing?) and decrapifying are two separate functions. You can compress files without also decrapifying them.
- Compressing files is non-destructive.
I compress (but do not decrapify) because I do not want to use the Launcher and I convert all store sims3packs to packages that I merge afterwards.

14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here on: 2011 August 27, 03:45:27
I had no issue with the very first one that was offered, after decrapifing it installed just fine, so those that were still having issues with that first upload? User error or goombas in the tubes.
I'm under the impression that the ones having issues were just not able to decrapify before installing with the launcher.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Hidden Springs on: 2011 August 27, 03:43:17
I'd tested when I wanted to understand why I should have paid $20+ to EA to buy the "new Barnacle Bay" when I already owned the first one and the bounty set. That worked on the Mac but maybe EA changed something.I'll do some testing when I'm able to take the Mac from the brat - she will fall sleep sooner or later - and let you know if I find the right Mac-way.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Hidden Springs on: 2011 August 27, 03:13:16
Well, I cannot say this will work ( the only Mac in this house is owned by my kid and she refuses to let me have it right now to test - too busy with some flame war in Facebook) but you have nothing to lose at this point. Drop the world thing there and try again. I'm going to hide waiting for your angry reaction if that does not work.
17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Hidden Springs on: 2011 August 27, 03:05:04
And do you have /Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/Electronic Art/The Sims 3/GameData/Shared/NonPackaged/Worlds or similar? If yes, is Sunset Valley there?
18  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Hidden Springs on: 2011 August 27, 03:00:01
Well, I'm now kind of curious on the outcome of this.
If you go to /Application/The Sims 3/ and right click on the The Sims 3.app and select "Show package content", does a new folder appear?
For example, can you find there /Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/Electronic Art/The Sims 3/Game/Bin?
19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Hidden Springs on: 2011 August 27, 02:51:23
Actually that should be a directory. Do you have /Applications/The Sims 3/The Sims 3.app/
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Hidden Springs on: 2011 August 27, 02:17:24
And where are your executables? Just to clarify: we, poor Windows users, have Barnacle and Riverview in the Installed Worlds directory. But Sunset Valley is somewhere else.
21  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Hidden Springs on: 2011 August 27, 01:31:25
My bad, I didn't see the Mac reference. If you do a search in your Mac for the Sunset Valley.world, where is it?
22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Hidden Springs on: 2011 August 27, 01:14:09
Try this:
- Put the packages in your Packages directory (under Mods)
- Put the world with the Sunset Valley world. If you installed in Program Files, it's in a subdirectory a few levels below
23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Hidden Springs on: 2011 August 27, 00:06:19
Does it normally stay at 0% for a long time when installing it through the launcher?
Please tell me that you are not using dangrax's file.
24  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here on: 2011 August 26, 23:33:53
Didn't Pescado warned several times about NOT sharing decrapped files?
You can guess why this file "works". I wondered so... I checked. The packages out of it are directly editable. Conclusion, it is not the original sims3pack.

So, no, the others files are NOT the bad ones.
25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 August 26, 04:06:11
I have tried 2 and 3 and the same is happening to me on two files I have tried to install today. I realize the World files must be installed as Sim3packs but I get the same error as the poster above, even after decrapifying. My game is up to date.

I have searched, I have downloaded before, and I have been able to get sim3packs into my game in the past. But Hidden Springs is not working for me. I believe I can still get the bundle to work if I package it and I do know how to do that. World files though cannot be packaged, at least according to posts here on MATY.
- Compressorize the sims3pack with s3rc.
- Extract the packages with Delphy's Multi Installer.
- The biggest package is the world, rename it to .world. Put it in the same directory that contains Sunset Valley.world. Hint: look under the directory where you installed the game, probably Program Files.
- Drop the other packages in the normal framework Install the remaining packages as normal packages.
