1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons: What mods are you already begging for? on: 2007 February 28, 15:30:52
Beat me to the punch. The only weirdo who magically knows it's snowing in the dead of night is my girlfriend.
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: WTF? Seasons ate my Pets on: 2007 February 28, 15:23:17
It happened to my OFB when I installed Pets. Never did figure out where I went wrong on that one.
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do YOU Pleasantview? on: 2006 November 09, 13:49:46
Ah, let's see. I combined all my neighborhoods recently and weeded out all the townies except for Gordon the burglar and Kaylynn the maidwhore, but Pleasantview has stayed mostly pure as far as crossovers.

Mortimer Goth married the blonde Caliente slut and got her knocked up. They had a boy. Alexander aged to teen and is too much of a nerd to get any booty. Cassandra married Darren Dreamer and is now pregnant. Dirk and Lilith are still going for the gold.

The Oldies adopted another daughter, a teenager named Mia. Herb promptly died and I moved Coral and her new child in with the Pleasants. I keep making Daniel Pleasant sick on purpose so he's constantly running to the bathroom or coughing. Hopefully he'll die soon. Everyone else in that house is doing what they're supposed to, I think. I'm too lazy to care.

The redhaired Caliente moved in with our friend Don Lothario and they are seducing all the same people.

Jennifer and John Burb had another baby that I named Ethel and then Jennifer died, so now John Burb is dating Brandi Broke and Brandi's pregnant for the fourth time, so I'm about to move them in together and hum the Brady Bunch theme. Lucy Burb is dating the youngest Grunt from Strangetown.

I think that about covers it.

I downloaded the alternate .exe, disabled the EA downloader with a couple of extra letters in the title, made sure my firewall rejected EA's attempts to connect, and voila! No more retarded downloader.
5  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TUTORIAL: Merging the Maxis neighborhoods. on: 2006 October 30, 06:22:37
You are EXCELLENT. I attached the three base neighborhoods to a custom neighborhood, purged the unused townies, made a few minor tweaks that make my gameplaying experience better... and now I have Teh Bests Neighborhood Evar!!!1~!  Grin Grin Grin Thanks a million.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pet Adoption = Rich Sims Only on: 2006 October 25, 07:47:10
The point is, it's not proportionate. Well, not much in this game is, but at any rate, I would not pay more for a dog than a car in the real world, and I scratch my own head at those who would. It reeks of DOG OWNS YOU.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Pet Adoption = Rich Sims Only on: 2006 October 25, 07:09:50
I KNOW I did not just pay $3,650 for a border collie. You can buy a car in this game for less than that.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Question for the awesome ones.... on: 2006 October 23, 18:12:08
I make a lot of custom careers for personal use (since the whole OMG YOU'RE ILLEGALZ crackdown at MTS2), and none of them have any problems whatsoever. My custom objects work fine - Monique's computer has an update that I am loving.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Puppies Cant climb Stairs to enter the house on: 2006 October 21, 05:02:48
Puppies, like toddlers, can't climb stairs. If they live outside, stick a food bowl out there.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Let's Talk About Spyware, Baybee on: 2006 October 21, 04:54:00
Oops, #29 was me under my girlfriend's account. SHE still uses her CDs. Weirdo. Except we downloaded Pets from the installer from hell. Sorta regretting that now.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is anyone experiencing trouble adopting BABIES-in Pets? on: 2006 October 20, 08:33:42
I had a similar problem with social workers, maids, exterminators and repairmen - I had to spawn the NPC & Townie Maker and create more NPCs, which sucked, because I like my neighborhood light.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Desert Spice Wallpapers? on: 2006 May 20, 05:06:26
Seriously - it isn't MY friend. I've been looking for these things for two days. Thanks for the link.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Desert Spice Wallpapers? on: 2006 May 20, 04:23:55
My game went the way of BFBVFS, and I seriously lost everything - downloads, neighborhoods, Sims, houses, everything. *is non-awesome* I had these great wallpapers before the crash; I think they were part of a series called Desert Spice. I have no idea where I got them though - they came with something I downloaded, I think. Anyone know where these babies reside?
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: House Layout? on: 2006 May 14, 16:34:21
How can I make my sims go out the front door and not the back door?

Don't put in a back door. Works every time!

I tend to download a lot of houses from MTS2, especially from plasticbox. I also tend to swipe the houses from all the other neighborhoods, delete said neighborhoods, gut the houses of all their belongings and make them better looking + more functional.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: ooh, a mystery hack! on: 2006 May 03, 04:12:13
I went in and manually replaced my own version of this hack in the original Live file so it will never generate any Berjes or Abjiheets for me ever again in this life or any other. (Unless I don't deleteallcharacters in a new neighborhood. Then here come the Caryls.)
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Has anyone else seen this want before? on: 2006 May 01, 17:28:11
I've got a few weirdos that ought to spin that. Damn.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Santa Claus on: 2006 April 21, 21:31:09
My Sims always eat a cookie, but then there's plenty to go around. Those cookies actually look damn good.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Townie/NPC Precreated Templates? on: 2006 April 20, 20:24:19
I just created a mod for my personal game (after studying the great one by jordi for way too long - I'm not that smart) that gets rid of all the Abjiheets and Goopys and Caryls and Meadows and the weird last names, etc. I'm getting ready to go in and spawn the NPC & Townie Maker and create some new Solveig Chin-less neighborhoods for good.

Something I've noticed since Nightlife was released, however, is that there seems to be a set in stone "townie template." For example, if I don't use deleteallcharacters and leave the game-spawned characters in place, the townies retain their original Maxis-created names. If I DO use deletallcharacters in a neighborhood and then respawn the townies, I end up with townies that look exactly like the Maxis-spawned townies but with different names. I didn't note this to be a problem before Nightlife, but now it seems I always have a skintone 4 townie with the green glasses and supergay vest and the blonde girl in the brown hat and blue sweater.

To make a longwinded story short as possible, I've prowled through the game files until I got confused and decided I was more apt to do harm than good, so I thought I'd ask - is there a file somewhere that has townie templates (other than the face templates; I mean, these bastard spawns are identical from makeup to clothing to the expressions on their insanity-laced faces) and can it be altered?
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A RUMOUR about the next expansion pack on: 2006 April 06, 23:42:44
Now vacations AND animals together in one expansion pack, that would be interesting.

Mmm. The possibilities of new deaths would be ENDLESS with that one. The more deaths, the better.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Family Fun Pack - No Piracy on: 2006 April 06, 23:38:15
There's a wide variety of emulation software and it isn't that hard to get a code. Of course, I'm in no way advocating illegal downloads or usage. I just don't think that Maxis has come up with anything new to stop unpurchased usage.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Romance mod issue - am I the only one? on: 2006 April 06, 23:01:32
I was about to whine about it myself, and then realized I didn't have it installed. I'm such a dumbass.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Squinge found something interesting... on: 2006 April 06, 22:56:35
My doc just shoved me on birth control... he didn't test my insulin levels at all.

EH?! Mine didn't either, and it wasn't until last year that I realized the error of his ways - and when my insulin was finally checked I was producing eleven times the normal amount. PCOS is caused by insulin resistance. If left unchecked many people end up with diabetes. (This is of course a simplification on my part.) I'm not a doctor, and I don't play one on TV or in TS2, but birth control made my PCOS worse and that seems to be the rule, not the exception. I had to get three opinions before getting straightened out.

Wouldn't you be offended if someone judged the decisions you make with your infertility situation?

Being a nursing mom isn't a cakewalk in this country. You haven't yet been in this situation yourself so you don't know what it's like.

People judge us all the time, but you have to let it go or you get bitter and old before your time. No, I'm sure being a nursing mom isn't easy with all of the weirdos running around thinking breasts are a sexual object, but I'm a little confused. Actually, I'm a lot confused. Just because I haven't given birth to a live child doesn't mean I can't support breastfeeding rights. I would think that the pro-natural milk section of society would appreciate support no matter if it comes from someone who's had ten kids or none at all. If we (and there are a lot of potential crunchies running around) were going around yelling "OMG BOOBIEZ GROSS, WHERE'S THE FORMULA" all the time, it'd be different, but support is support is support. This isn't meant offensively, I'm just bewildered.

Would that be polycystic ovarian syndrome/disease? If so, that's what I have too, and the doctor told me, that I have a silm to low chance of conceiving without medication, and a high chance of miscarriage if I do happen to get pregnant without drugs. My mother had it undiagnosed before me, she had three kids with no problems, but she also had three miscarriages...

Yes, but my insulin is slowly returning to normal because I started taking medication last year. Most, if not all women with PCOS have insulin resistance, and when metformin is prescribed and the body processes insulin in a more effective and normal way which means the body's hormonal cycles begin to behave in a more effective and normal way. Metformin also makes you more fertile, and in some scenarios Clomid is also necessary. I'm assuming your insulin is being regulated, so that should help some.

I never had Unleashed, and I'm not a pet lover, but it might be interesting. I want some farm animals. I want farm animals I can BREED.
