1  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Getting Dell to honour Vista Upgrades on: 2007 February 05, 19:57:33
Maybe I should tell Dell to send me a disc of it, that way later on down the line when it's mandatory to use it, I wont be stuck paying for it!.. Tongue
2  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Getting Dell to honour Vista Upgrades on: 2007 February 05, 18:32:57
I heard Vista Requires at least 1 gig of Ram and a good video card, I was just so happy that my new PC excepted my Tom Clancy Splinter Cell Double Agent game the other day when my new PC arrived, my old PC rejected Double Agent, it needed that dual processor the games box said!..

Wow I inspired J.M. to change his avatar!, nice avatar!.. Grin
4  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Getting Dell to honour Vista Upgrades on: 2007 February 05, 18:15:39
Right now I have Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition version 2 service Pack 2 on my New PC, I managed to transfer all my DDR2 Ram all four 1 gig sticks to my new PC and I'm having no problem's, windows update wanted to add Internet Explorer 7 to my PC I denied it, because I don't like the button function and taskbar at the top of Internet Explorer 7!..

Think my run time error the other day was caused by Sun Microsystems java, I had problems with Sun Microsystems java in the past on previous PC's of mine!..

I'll wait to hear what everyone has to say about Vista, we should know more about Vista within a year and a half hopefully!..
5  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Getting Dell to honour Vista Upgrades on: 2007 February 05, 15:58:19
This was originally sent to my older sister in a e-mail, it wasn't personal, so I thought I'd post it here, also she just got a new PC at xmas time and was promised a free Vista Upgrade like me, the first two paragraphs are about  the Sims 2  and the last paragraph is about Dell and getting them to honour my Vista Upgrade!..

from e-mail

I had to start  over with my Sims 2 online downloads, because something I had downloaded was making my Sims freeze up, not move at all, plus the lot they where on would take forever to load, over 30 minutes, they only thing that I kept from online was my hacks/modds and Genetics/ Sims, started over with all my objects and building objects, my hacks/modds  and Genetics/ Sims loaded fine!..

I already had to roll back my new  PC, restore it, but now it's faster and easier, Dell installed symantec ghost on my PC,  the other day I removed my Sims 2 the wrong way, I deleted stuff from the programs folder, then they wheren't removable from my control panel, I was also having a run time error when I'd turn off my PC, so I called Dell yesterday and they helped me with  that new symantec ghost  roll back!..

I asked Dell  tech about Vista  upgrades and they at first  gave me a Dell Vista link from online and I started to give the site my info then it wanted my credit card number and I said to the Dell tech guy wow, I'm supposed to get the upgrade for free, then he gave me a phone number to call for Dell Vista upgrades, the number is  Vista Upgrade 1-866-634-7426 think you give them your service tag number then they check to see if it's available, I haven't called yet, there open from 8am to 5pm the Dell tech guy said!, sorry not sure what time zone there in!..
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Decustomizing Custom Content on: 2007 January 26, 17:25:15
Are you perhaps looking for the hack that removes  the asterisk mark from custom content thumbnail's in the game? I cannot recall where it's at anymore if so!..

8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Building/Upgrading a PC for TS2 - Update, 08 September 2006 on: 2007 January 24, 13:04:43
In reply to katenigma

I have 10 gigabytes in my downloads folder, I defragmented my hard drive on Sunday and my pc has both Spybot - Search & Destroy & Ad-Aware SE Personal, I bought this PC almost 3 years ago, bought it out in December!..

I have a visa card its maxed out right now  Tongue

My current pc has four gigabyes of ram DDR 2  ram which I'll transfer to my new PC and leave this PC with 1 gig of ram, it only has windows XP service pack 2, my current pc is going to be for online downloading surfing  and emailing only when my new PC comes!..

The rent to own store would of tried to charge me  $39.99 plus insurance plus Canadian taxes a week for a clone pc, which is a total rip off, and they don't build them to your specs,  you take what those damn rent to own stores have in stock at the time!..

Dell is around 50 bucks cheaper a month  compared to rent to own stores here!..

Also I'm on disability and live way below the poverty line,  and get what I can afford!..
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Building/Upgrading a PC for TS2 - Update, 08 September 2006 on: 2007 January 24, 10:21:19
My Sims 2  pets was taken over 45 mins to load and I got tired of it taken so long to load and I gave in and called Dell.ca they financed  me again for  a new computer..

For those wondering, I have all the Sims 2 games and stuff pack game's, my current computer  I'm on which is paid off, only had a
pentium 4  3.4 Ghz processor, it's a Dell Dimension 8400, I already had the hard drive and motherboard replaced under the 3 year warrenty and I maxed out the Ram to 4 Gigabytes DDR2 Ram last year,  video card ATI Radeon X300!..

not mentioning the price  tag, because that's my business and last time I mentioned I financed a computer on a gaming forum they all where shocked by the ammount I'd end up paying at the end of the four year contract, these  places that rent to own or that finance you are place's of last resort and convenience for those of us that can't dish out the money needed for a new computer each year!, the amount that Dell is giving me well be a better deal then Canada's MDG or those rent to own place's here in Canada, and both Canada's MDG  and those  rent to own place's  have crappy computers that are  over priced, enough said about  that!..

[I might transfer some of my DDR 2 Ram from my current PC to my new PC sense they both  use the same type of Ram]

Specs for new PC!.. [from e-mail from Dell]

Did the allvirgalissuck  account we donated to have problem's as well with paypal? are those funds frozen?
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dedicated Buttocks Proposal on: 2007 January 15, 11:00:19
Congratulations Grin

I figured out that paypal e-mail donation thing and I see that my donation got to you ok!..
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dedicated Buttocks Proposal on: 2007 January 14, 06:30:48
I can donate, but I never give my credit card number out by e-mail to anyone ever, need to see a more legitimate  secure way of donating, and I want to be assured that  if it's through paypal that it be a one time charge on my card, those prick's at paypal took  5 bucks for another month subscription to exnem that I never authorized, they'll get a ear full soon from me because of that!.. Angry

13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Does a 2nd XP user account give you a clean downloads folder on: 2007 January 13, 23:03:05

I used to create a 2nd XP user account on my PC four another game of mine that required a clean  plugin folder, no hacks for submitted content, does this work with the Sims 2 as well??  Would having a 2nd XP user account on my PC give me a different downloads folder? one without the same stuff as my main XP account??

  thx Craig
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Blue water Skeleton flash effect after adopting a Dog on: 2006 December 30, 08:52:36
Is the sprinkler a EA object? or do I have to download it from somewhere?
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Blue water Skeleton flash effect after adopting a Dog on: 2006 December 30, 08:04:22
Well I was playing the Gieke or Gieko family in Strangestown he's married to Some  judge name Julie Brown and they had twin boy toddlers as well and had there second set of twins about to give birth when  the game crashed, it was  also during the second  twin pregnancy when the blue water jesus appeared!..

I had LizzLove's twin hack in my downloads folder to get the  Gieke's to have twins, I sense removed LizzLove's twin hack  and well try  twojeffs Triplets & Quads hack, not the random one, next!..

Sorry I didn't take screen shots of the water skeletons, well next time they appear!.. Embarrassed
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Blue water Skeleton flash effect after adopting a Dog on: 2006 December 30, 07:14:05
The other night when I was playing  Pets and adopted a dog, shortly after having the Dog on my property  and having him chase away the General in Strangetown off the property, blue transparent skeletons where randomly flashing all over my property, the blue  transparent skeleton looked like water skeletons to me and had the stretched out arms like Jesus Christ  on the cross and they where headless as well,  I kept the game running for several hours and tried J.M.'s Debug cube and they still kept appearing, tried to force a error and they still appeared, eventually my game crashed!..

Don't think I'll adopt a Dog again tell the Pets patch comes out, also because I have no clue how to keep the Dogs  hygiene from being in the negative, red all the time!.. Angry
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: stretchskeleton cheat in a picture or object hack is it possible on: 2006 December 15, 07:19:56
Yea Em' I went and read that tutorial, and the guy lost me at CPF editor  Undecided  I have no clue what a CPF editor is Embarrassed

I'm just a simpleton and the most I can do is edit images in MSN paint and edit them by size etc, don't ask me about Word Either!.. sorry!.. Embarrassed
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / stretchskeleton cheat in a picture or object hack is it possible on: 2006 December 15, 05:54:47
I like playing with different sized Sim's, the adults/ elders are the same height I noticed, which is unrealistic, so I use the old stretch skeleton with the following numbers for different sized Sims,  I type this after the stretchskeleton is entered in the cheat dialog box, this is the female height I give my adult females 1.1 and the male 1.2  which is like over 6 feet tall looking in the game, and I don't like my servo's being tall so there height is .5 which is the height of a horse jockey in the game and if you want Sims as tall as magic johnson and other big baseketball players you'd type 1.4  after you'd  typed  with the stretchskeleton cheat, and if you like little people and mini me you type .5  or less, think .5 might be mini me size and point 0.8 jockey size, but my note's on paper aren't legible to me!.. Embarrassed

Anyhow it's a pain in  the ass to have to type in that cheat box  that cheat word and those numbers mentioned above  every time and I was wondering if it's all at possible if somebody can make a hack or object that have those size's indicated as pie menu option when clicking a Sim to make them the desired height indicated above!? Any Please!..

Damn feel like Hitler  with "Mein Kampf," the Nazis' bible, talking about peoples sizes!.. Embarrassed

Most go scrub myself clean now!.. ugggg

I just got off the phone with Dell tech, got them on this side of the world for a change Smiley, instead of outsourced Indie Dell tech, and the guy confirmed that there was a video drivers update for my video card, but I had to go to support.dell.com to install the drivers update sense Dell installed my OS and video card, at support.dell.com, if your un-assured   as to what to do, Dell tech well help you over the phone to get the proper driver's for your video card!, and that's if you own a Dell...

Try deleting the Groups cache

I haven't installed any games on my PC yet sense reformatting it, next time I'll try that!.. thx

If after this reformat I have the Same problem's with my Pets, I well have no choice but to buy a new PC!..

That's certainly twisted thinking.

I have the same computer:  Dell 8400, same processor, ATI X850XT graphics card, less RAM [2Gb] .NET Framework 2.0, all the EPs, and Pets plays perfectly.  What you did not name is the OS nor did you make any mention of running antivirus software.  Virus or Trojans could be the source of the system slowdowns.

The graphics card that is installed in that system stinks; it's an OEM card and you can save a lot of money by installing a new card over buying a new computer, however, you'll also have to upgrade the power supply unit and add a new card fan - visit and read the entire "Building/Upgrading a PC for TS2 - Update, 08 September 2006." And make sure to read the Dell Handbook which is (was) installed on your hard drive.  If you can't find it, visit the Dell Community Forums and download another copy.  http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/

Edit: Did you by chance update the driver on that X300 card?  http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

I have windows XP SP2 on my pc and  I've been buying a new store bought copy of Norton AntiVirus for the  last  2 years in a row, I  was also using LimeWire Pro on my PC because I liked sharing my music, yea I know  that's a bad ideal, probably wont  re-install LimeWire Pro this time, sense all the mp3 album's are corrupted  at LimeWire!, and I use the free zone alarm because I'm used to it and I'm not sure about using the one provided by XP SP2!..
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Problem's I've been having with Pets on: 2006 December 09, 13:59:09
I meant White Splash Screen, that pop's up at beginning of the game launch!...
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Problem's I've been having with Pets on: 2006 December 09, 12:04:41
Thought I'd mention this incase other people have also been having the same problem, and haven't reported it!..

My Pets game wont start at times, it just launch's the wallpaper with the white back ground and wont go any further,  I double click on the pets shortcut it installed on my computer's  desktop and it still wouldn't start, I would turn off my PC for a hour and my game still wouldn't start, I un-installed the Pets, then re-installed it, and it start up ok, but then a few day's later same problem happen's!..

I bought my copy of pets over a month ago and lost the damn receipt, so yesterday I went to buy a new copy of Pets, and it did the exact samething on the new copy of Pets!..

I've had the same OS since January 17th of this year, and I was also having PC problem's with clearing online address, passwords and usernames, windows would stop responding when I'd try and clear them, and my PC was getting slow, so  I backed up everything to my backup hard drive, and opened up my PC and disconnected my SATA backup drive from my motherboard  because Dell tech told me too!, and reformatted my main onboard hard drive that came with the PC and installed everything Brand new!..

Online program's I had on my  PC was netframe 2,  I think for some Sims 2 program that required it for use and I also had Ad-Aware SE Personal and spybotsd14, wouldn't run both at the sametime of course, and I use wordweb dictionary, and Eraser, eraser suposed to supposable  delete anything permanently from your computer  by writting over it with zero's and one's 31 times tell it's gone, same procccess it claim's the CIA uses!, and a program called readplease 2003, you paste text into readplease and it would read to you!, and finally I'd use mailwasher the free version before launching my Outlook Express to check for Spam mail!, don't think any of these have been the cause of my problem's, used them all for the last three years and this is the second PC I used them on!..

My current PC is a Dell Dimension 8400, with a 3.4 Ghz Processor  Intel Pentium 4,  the video card is ATI 300x and I maxed out my Ram to 4 gigabytes of DDR2 ram,  damn Ram cost as much as a new PC, one hundred and seventy nine dollers plus  fifteen percent Canadian Taxes per 1 gig Stick!, installed all four Stick's last year, had a professional tech confirm that the Ram's installed right!, sorry don't know the front bus information of my PC!..

If after this reformat I have the Same problem's with my Pets, I well have no choice but to buy a new PC!..
