1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons - custom content that doesn't work properly on: 2007 March 01, 13:02:34
The default skins I was using from SimSquirts are FUBARed in Seasons. They cause everyone's hair textures to go missing and in the Change Appearance window, the faces are totally gone. There's just a black void where they should be.

I haven't tried to put my default replacement skins in, but all custom skintones may require updating, due to the fact that a sim's skin will now change tone if they are near freezing or overheated.

The food sparkles are a feature of the EP.  It is supposed to indicate food made with home grown, or home caught food, and have a higher hunger value.
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Odd things I noticed about Seasons on: 2007 March 01, 06:19:50
I haven't actually played The Sims for at least a month, but I picked up Seasons yesterday.  Just before I got distracted by another game, I had started a new neighborhood with just 1 YA.  I don't think I even got her through her first semester.  So when I installed last night, I deleted the Sims 2 folder from My Documents, having moved Downloads to the desktop first, and let the game recreate all neighborhoods.  I don't have a Pleasantview.  There are 3 neighborhoods in my game now, Riverblossom whatever, Strangetown, and Veronaville.  And of course the option to add a new neighborhood.  Not that it matters really, I've never really been attached to the premade 'hoods, but it did surprise me.

The other odd thing I noticed, I went into the Greenman household to check out the house, and the new buy and build menu options.  The active Sim on entering the lot, was the Green woman, Rose, I think.  One of her starting wants is to be cured of Plantsimism.  If the whole purpose of her being in the game is to introduce this new "creature", why start her with the want to be cured?

I haven't decided whether to get LS or not.  Has anyone started the game from more than just a single XP login?  The reason for my question is that I can play TS2 under my login, and my sister can play under her login and not mess up my neighborhoods.  Does LS give you the same ability to allow more than 1 person to play the game?

OOH, there's cheesecake?
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: becoming the popular sim on campus? on: 2007 January 26, 06:41:59
No, that's a different memory - Big Slut on Campus.

TwoJeffs needs to add that into ACR.  I'm starting a new neighborhood with a romance YA, it would be perfect for her.

I'll chime in to confirm that my sims always achieve the Be Big on Campus when they max their influence meter at 12 non family friends.  I always try to achieve this, because then they are pretty much set for the max number of friends that most careers require.  I think there are just 2 of the Uni careers that require up to 14 family friends.
7  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Lighting not affecting objects on: 2007 January 25, 13:13:35
Do you use Numenor's CEP?  If you do, and you haven't updated it recently, since Pets, the previous version offered the option of installing Gunmod's light system with the CEP.  The current one no longer does, but if you have CEP 4 you might try reinstalling it, you should receive an option on whether to install the light mod or not.

But I don't think it sounds like the light mod, because that should cause all interior rooms to appear dark, and it wouldn't just affect the objects, but the floors, walls, and sims as well.
8  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Lighting not affecting objects on: 2007 January 25, 11:03:40
I don't have any help to offer, other than to ask for some clarification that may allow someone more knowledgeable to offer better assistance.

Is it all objects, or only certain types.  If for instance, it is just furniture (couch, chairs, loveseat), is it all of those types of objects or only certain ones.  Is it only happening in one room, on only one lot?
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Owning a Business on: 2007 January 25, 10:57:29
I would highly recommend Business Runs You.  Yes, the Hammer and Sickle are hideous, but if you take your owner sim to the lot, click on the BRY dohickey and choose "Assign Unmanned Owner" (I am at work, so not completely sure what the correct name of the option is).  Then in the future whenever you visit that lot, the owner will be doing whatever you assigned him/her to.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Paypal Robbery on: 2007 January 23, 05:42:18
This is the first time I have been able to access the site since last Wednesday, so I'm late in responding.  I sent a donation using the virgali email address, and want to verify that the funds were received as I intended.  Please let me know whether I need to pursue the issue with Paypal, or you received the donation.

I can provide you the transaction # if that would help.  Paypal shows that the transaction was completed.

I use both Monique's computers and Pescado's clothing tool, actually keep both on every lot, so the most recent versions should play well together.  I use the clothing tool to eliminate ugly age transition outfits and update appearances, and the shop at home option on the computers to satisfy the "Buy new clothes" want when I don't want to take the time to send them to a community lot.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lighting so poor in houses on: 2007 January 15, 19:59:39
The lighting issue sounds like you have got Gunmod's lighting mod.  There was a CEP that incorporated it a few months ago, but I thought Numenor had taken it out in the most recent version.  My only advise would be to check the documentation on the CEP, it should give you the option of installing it or not.

On the other issue, I believe that losing relationships to all non-household Sims is simply a symptom of moving them into the housing bin.  I don't think there is a fix for that.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Birthin' Babies and Genetics on: 2007 January 15, 15:46:07
If you have the Lot Debugger, do as vilia said.  Be sure to save your lot before running the generator because it will kick you out to the neighborhood screen without saving.  I usually run it before each birth, but that is probably overkill.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: any inventory management in seasons? on: 2007 January 15, 15:38:23
It would be helpful if the inventory was tabbed in some way, craftables in one tab, cell phones and personal electronics in another, diplomas, deeds, photos, etc. in another.

I didn't play Sims 1 for long, but wasn't their inventories split up similarly.

As to whether this will come about in a future EP, I will remain hopeful but not expectant.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dedicated Buttocks Proposal on: 2007 January 14, 20:52:05
Considering that this is the first time since I originally saw the thread on Friday, that I've been able to get on the site, I feel the new server is necessary.  Oh, please make my title the feminine equivalent please.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: business blockade on: 2007 January 10, 18:10:48
You let your sims go home?Huh  you're too kind - I take an energiser and an expresso machine and keep them there until they can't satisfy enough wants to stay any longer. I think I did most of the 10 stars in 1 go on that pay as you go lot with trees on a hill where the reporter finally gave a BofB award to TSR challenge guy Jack.  marathon playing session though.

Snapdragons and TwoJeff's Static Energy Sculpture, as mentioned by slurpeefiend.  Especially when I'm trying to satisfy the "Own 5 Top Level Businesses" LTW.  Of course in conjunction with BRU.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: i'm asking this sheepishly, on: 2007 January 05, 23:00:57
I also use Lyran's in conjunction with the laverwinkle alien skin.  The only thing I would change about Lyran's skins is that the areola could be lighter in relation to the skintone or possibly simply smaller.  If my female sims are wearing low cut tops, you can sometimes see the edge of the areola.

It doesn't bother me enough to stop using her skins.  And I wouldn't give up my laverwinkle aliens for anything.  The family I've just recently founded a new neighborhood with is made up of a CAS sim married to Stella Terrano from La Fiesta Tech's sim bin.  They have between them 6 kids (2 by alien abduction) and the only one who isn't laverwinkle is the dad.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Gender-reversed Pleasantview on: 2007 January 05, 02:11:00
I have to ask, where has your time as a pirate been spent?  I play Y!PP, myself.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Gender-reversed Pleasantview on: 2007 January 05, 00:51:18
Thank you Madame Mim.  Its been a long time since my last astronomy class.  I wasn't making the connection in my mind to axial tilt.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Gender-reversed Pleasantview on: 2007 January 04, 22:39:52
Since the weather in Australia is being discussed, I am going to ask a really stupid question, that I have been wondering about lately.  Are your days longer this time of year and shorter come June?  Or are the length of the days the same as the northern hemisphere.

And yes, I do know that I contemplate really odd things at times.

21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dognappers! on: 2007 January 03, 18:52:18
It's too bad that the little "At Work" icon doesn't show on little ones who go to work with Mama or Daddy.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Routing !!! on: 2006 December 29, 23:03:09
I choose to believe that the dogs are still learning their way around the house we've only lived in for a couple of weeks.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Routing !!! on: 2006 December 29, 22:37:58
You know I thought of this thread as my dogs were going around through the back bedroom and into the small bath off the kitchen to run into the backdoor, which blocks the door into the bathroom when opened, on their way outside this morning, instead of simply going through the kitchen for a clear unobstructed path to the back door.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Two Sisters and an Expected Baby on: 2006 December 28, 19:03:26
If you do decide to try out TwoJeff's ACR, and I would recommend it (be sure that you read all of the included documentation), the incuded pregnancy scanner will tell you who the father is also, along with how many babies are expected, and the number of hours since conception.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lot Debugger and Macrotastics box - recolorable? on: 2006 November 20, 22:10:55
I usually stick mine either in a doorless "closet" (but since I normally play with walls down, I can always find them), or in the back yard right up against the house, so an air conditioner recolor would look really natural.
