1  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Run, sim, run on: 2011 April 05, 03:45:24
Working as designed, then.
I figured now you made it that way on purpose.

If they walk as normal when interacting with objects, then what's the problem? I thought "go here" was if you wanted them to actually go somewhere, not just move around the house.
If I'm reading this correctly, I think he wants manual navigation to default to "walk" instead of "run".  If that's correct, you're probably S.O.L., little snowflake.
I use 'go here' a lot, especially on parties, just to move sims  from the yard to the living room or to move 2 sims to another room prior to interacting, etc, so i found manual navigation usefull.
You see, there's no information about the 'running aspect' of the manual navigation on the config tool. it just says it allows you to queue more than 1 'go here' command. So naturally i though it was a bug because they started running all around, everytime, and that just looked weird.
The default Automatic makes them run if the distance is something more than 30-40 steps away. if its nearer they'll walk.
Automatic from Manual Navigation makes them run if the distance is more than 3 steps away.
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Run, sim, run on: 2011 April 04, 17:24:27
There already are teleporters. They do a lot more than simply take you down the stairs.
Aren't those one-way only? Never bought it since I'd rather spend my points on other rewards.
use your phone to 'teleport home' if you have the teleport pad.

Okay, you're saying walk doesn't work? Even after you've done the resetwalk stuff?
Oh, I see. I don't think resetwalk is related to this. (oh and resetwalk returns 'unknown command' when i type)
It's not a walkstyle stuck to my sims. choosing walk works, i just tested.
it's just that manual navigation makes automatic = run. they never walk if the 'go here' option is on automatic, and they normally would if the distance was within 20 steps or so.
3  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Run, sim, run on: 2011 April 04, 07:58:53
If you actually want them to shuffle slowly for some reason, you could just pick that option: Automatic should automatically choose the best option.
but that's what i'm saying: with manual navigation enabled, the options automatic/walk/run don't work. sims will just run anyway.
I like manual navigation, so i wanted we could turn off the "always run" but leave manual navigation on.
4  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Run, sim, run on: 2011 April 02, 07:05:44
I'm sorry about the necromancy thing but i just had to revive this: the thread has ended with no solution reply, and i haven't been able to find any other info about this. i can't even use resetwalk because it says unknown command... sims 3 + WA + 1.19/2.14 patch + awesome mod

Been doing a little more experiments, and.. really, here's the deal:
they'll walk if i tell them to interact with an object;
they'll walk if i choose "go here" and the distance is like 2 steps away;
they'll run if i choose "go here" with the option on automatic and the distance is more than 2 steps away. without awesomemod this doesn't happen, the'll just walk normally

it seems like the mod was deliberately made this way, seeing that pescado just love to look at them running. so please, could you make this optional?
----------------------
Actually, more testing revealed that if i disable manual navigation the problem goes away. if i click "go here" somewhere nearby they'll walk. However the options for walk, run, automatic, won't make any difference
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: high texture detail, crappy clothes details on: 2007 November 21, 05:30:52
windows xp, just updated the dispay drivers, 256 video memory!!
i dont know why my game is like this. i'll format my pc and reinstall everything later. my xp is kinda buggy
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: high texture detail, crappy clothes details on: 2007 November 19, 20:01:50
Yeah.. its a shame though.. i didn't think my pc wouldn't be capable of rendering good textures in a lot so empty.

I have a Radeon X600 XT and 1 GB RAM, 3.0 GHZ ATHLON 64 . i thought that was enough.. bleh!!!

I have seen that a few times (mostly when i just started the game) the textures are rendered well, few minutes after and it is alll blurred...

BTW, i loved the re-build of my picture!!! when i saw it i thought: what the.. hahahaha.. very good!

7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cellphones in Hotels & Vampire-Plantsim bugs on: 2007 November 17, 02:02:12
really? i'm almost sure i already installed it
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: high texture detail, crappy clothes details on: 2007 November 17, 00:02:28
no, i don't think this is what's happening in my game. the clothes are like this all the time.

this is a test lot of a test neighborhood. so there is no one in the neighborhood but this family, that lives in a small lot, in a very simple house, with very few objects....

Also, the clothes are like this even in the CAS
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / high texture detail, crappy clothes details on: 2007 November 16, 23:38:31
look at this picture:

If you look at the floor, wall, and furniture, you'd say i'm using high texture details (wich I AM!)
So why does the clothes look so crappy? every clothe in the game is like this.
Anybody else having this problem?
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cellphones in Hotels & Vampire-Plantsim bugs on: 2007 November 15, 06:01:08
Not that i know of... I almost sure that
the CD-ROMs of each expansion pack have all the patches that were released before it. after it installs the game it installs the patches that *it contains* that are necessary. So the Bon Voyage CD has all the patches released before it was released. i don't need to patch anything, except bon voyage itself
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage, Seasons and Pets problems.. on: 2007 November 15, 00:57:57
allright! thx for that!

What about the cellphone-in-hotels problem? is there a fix for that, i've missed?
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage, Seasons and Pets problems.. on: 2007 November 08, 19:40:47
*consoles linolino for having to see only the Maxis fugly, then introduces to the "smooth edges" option.*
HAHAHAHA... Thanks! i actually use the smooth edges sometimes, but when i turn all those visual things down the game runs so much smoother and faster that i prefer this way! hehe..

Huh. I see fireflies all the time in areas without flower/bushes in real life. I've had them in my apartment on the 8th floor in Chi. Not a swarm, but still...I hardly see how this is bothersome. For those townies who goof off trying to catch them, they are obvious targets for pointing and laughing.
Ah well, nevermind then, this is not actually a problem anyway... hehe

Don't use cellphone for roomservice.
Oooohh. that's right i did ordered using the cellphone. is this what's causing the bug? Anyway who orders roomservice from their cell?? there shouldn't be that option in cells
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage, Seasons and Pets problems.. on: 2007 November 08, 19:39:36
Supposedly, the second Pets patch fixed the problem with strays on community lot (I had forgotten that earlier). Perhaps you should patch your game.
Supposedly, that's right, cause when i installed seasons and bon voyage, the installation automaticaly patched the game, so..

There are plenty of hacks to keep strays off community lots.  I use the Jeffian visitor controller.
I'm thinking here.. isn't there a "stray away" street sign in the game that keeps pets off the room it is placed?
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage, Seasons and Pets problems.. on: 2007 November 08, 18:29:40
BTW, are those zombie-vampire-werewolf-plantsims?
These indeed *are* zombie-vampire-warewolf-plasims! hahahahahaha.. however in the picture its not a warewolf anymore, i gave her the Lycantropy-B.
Oh this reminded me: i gave her al the potions (for plantsim, vampire, warewolf), but since she is a zombie too, i can't cure that, so i expected that after givin her all the potions she become a zombie again. However she kept her normal skin tone, and normal walk. no bluish-gray skin tone or foot-drag... only the "ooowwwaaaa" sounds and the weird face.(nevermind. the option to turn sims into zombies of that batman FFS Lot Debbuger doesn't turn them entirely zombies)

...Pescado has a 'vampwerefixes' hack that should solve the third problem...
does vampwerefixes.package fixes theses?? i have it in my downloads, but i also have a "bitingsatisfyhunger.package", maybe it's conflicting..
I just tested the game only with the vampwerefixes, and the problem is there yet, so i guess it just corrects the vampire and warewolves problems, but not the plantsim, cause the problem happens ONLY if you are already a vampire and then turn to a plantsim, meaning the problem is on the plantsim layer, i guess...
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Cellphones in Hotels & Vampire-Plantsim bugs on: 2007 November 08, 07:00:38
So i've noticed some stuff and was wondering if there is a mod to solve these: (tested with custom content disabled)

Bon Voyage:
After the 4th or 5th time my sim ordered room service/Group Meal, everytime i order a group meal the waiter will only bring a single meal, and charge a single meal too.
Besides this, the waiter doesn't search for an empy slot on the table to serve the food. it goes for the first slot he finds, no matter if it is already beeing accupied by another plate or whathever. and if this is the case, the food he brings don't show up at all, not on the table, not even on the floor!
All of this happend in a room of the "Jade's Exclusive Villas" hotel, in the default Far East Neighborhood.

Seasons:
I was jusst playing in the downtown neighborhood and... Fireflies showed up!!! Huh this not cool, fireflies shoud show up only nearby flowers or bushes.... not in the front of of a bar in the middle of the city. Can't it be modified so it acts more like the bugs the only show up where there is a garden?

Pets:
Pets in downtown are going in the restaurants and bars and nightclubs and destroying all the furniture!!!
Is there a way to keep them away?

Problem with Plantsim and Vampires
When your plantsim turns into a vampire, everything looks OK, but when it is the other way (a vampire turning into a plantsim), the head of the vampire-plant is greenner than the body. Actually, the lighter tone of the vampire skin affects the body but not the head. look at the pictures below:

Plantsim to Vampire (OK):

Vampire to Plantsim (NOT OK):
(this happens with male or female sims. no difference)

16  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Anti-Weather Reactions on: 2007 November 07, 14:46:08
funny. although i haven't experienced the phone problem, which is a bad thing, i don't seen to be needing this fix.

I mean, i don't use it, and the weather reaction icons are always queued up in my sims queue but they don't stomp the other actions. they just wait their turn. if my sims is slepping, a wheter reaction icon is queued up but he remains sleeping..! if he wakes up and it is still raining then it will react, otherwise the icon just vanish.

So, why is like this in my game?
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Servos Eating Food. on: 2007 November 06, 03:18:16
I think the noeatcrap mod makes servos not eat food when they serve a group meal, is this correct?
It also stops sims from eating food when they are full?

what is this hack: ProcessServosFix.package? What is it for?
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: "Hand Baby To" interaction on: 2007 November 06, 03:14:08
oh.. that should be it.
i forgot about those tiny little people
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / "Hand Baby To" interaction on: 2007 November 05, 23:04:00
Sometime ago I have certainly seen a "hand baby to" interaction in a pie menu, when you click on another sim, while the the active sim is holding a toddler.

However since SEASONS, or Maybe PETS, the option never showed up again.

I started the game with custom content disabled to see if it was a side effect of some hack, but the option still wouldn't show up.

Does anyone have any information on that?
20  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Why are my rugs looking like crap!? on: 2007 February 16, 03:05:25
I have never seen my stepping stones look like that... they still retain their stone like looks so its deffinatly NOT a feature

Your stteping stone rug is not going flat?

What EPs/SPs you have installed?
What patches?
21  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Why are my rugs looking like crap!? on: 2007 February 15, 15:47:52
Mine go flat too. I don't really care, because I don't use them. All my other rugs are ok though.
Are you sure? As i said before i don't think this is a issue of the stpping stones only. it affects all rugs in general. Everything that uses the rugsGlobal... test it with your bone-shapped if you have pets. i bet it will go flat too
22  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Why are my rugs looking like crap!? on: 2007 February 15, 10:03:26
but i remember it wasn't like that... it must have been a patch or a expansion pack that changed that... what would be? maybe the PETS patch... Is this happening to someone who haven't installed the pets patch?
23  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Why are my rugs looking like crap!? on: 2007 February 15, 06:02:42
It doesn't happen only to hte stepping stone rug. It happens to *ALL rugs*

I just posted the stteping stones because its easier to see the defference.

Another one that is easy to see the difference is that bone-shaped rug that came with Pets.
24  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Why are my rugs looking like crap!? on: 2007 February 14, 20:32:05
Setings are high, same thing happens if placed outside, on the grass, on wood, on tile, on carpet... Happens to every rug.
It looks like it looses its bump maps!
25  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Why are my rugs looking like crap!? on: 2007 February 14, 18:46:27
I remember when rugs looked thick with beutifully rounded edges and not flat like some crappy stamp on the floor. what happend?

Bofere I put the rug on the floor, while its attached to the cursor, it looks ok, but then when i place it on the floor it becomes plain as a piece of paper.

Is this happening in your games too?

Before placing it:

After:

Setings are high, same thing happens if placed outside, on the grass, on wood, on tile, on carpet... Happens to every rug.
