TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds
|
on: 2009 May 22, 09:15:19
|
I've started up the TS3 on four separate occasions and played for a couple of hours each time.
When I've played, it has felt like I have to spend time with with people I really do *not* want to hang out with.
Then I've quit the game, fired up TS2 and it has felt like "Honey, I'm home!"
Maybe it's too big of a change for me; maybe the game sucks donkey's balls; but I really can't see myself warming to TS3 anytime soon.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Broken appliances and plumbing problem. - SOLVED

I always play in debug mode, but I have no idea where the break inducer is. I don't remember clicking anything unusual, but just in case I did, how did I do it and what do I click to fix it?
ETA: I found the option on the mail box by shift-clicking.
I was fiddling with the mailbox as I recall, because the sims on the lot were having trouble with macro pay bills option. I did indeed accidentally click on the break inducer! Thanks very much for the heads up purplehaze.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Broken appliances and plumbing problem.

I have a residential lot that I've played for a few generations. When I entered the lot again recently, every single appliance and plumbing object that can be broken repeatedly breaks. every time they're used. It doesn't seem to matter what age the sim is that uses the objects and it doesn't matter if I direct a sim to repair the object or I force an error to fix it, they still break after each use.
I'm not sure if the lot is borked and if I should move the family back out and in again or move them out and bulldoze the lot ( both scenarios I would rather avoid if I can) or if there is some other solution. I've never run into this problem before and after doing a search, I can't find anything similar or anyone else that has had a similar problem either it seems.
I haven't D/L'd anything new recently. I have all EP's and SP's, all awesomeware hacks are up to date and I'm reasonably sure non awesome hacks are as well.

My suspicion is that Maxis has simply made it so that 6s/12s/YAs are too stupid to pick up the assignment from the left side of the desk (even if they have put it there themselves!), bring it somewhere convenient, and then do the assignment.
I hope that is the case as this particular problem is driving me up the wall. Desks are an absolute neccessity, but having to move the homework all the time is a PITA.

The only stuff pack that I haven't arrquired yet is Glamour Life stuff and that's only because every single file I've found on TPB has been labelled as having a bloody virus. Is it worth getting or should I just not bother to keep looking fpor a clean one?
It was my favourite SP until IKEA and M&G came out. (The quartertile cheat alone made M&G my favourite SP ever.) I use GLS objects quite a lot. PJs and coats are nice too. Certainly not worth to pay for, but worth enough to acquire. There is still one available on MiniNova. No mention of virus in comments. I never gave mininova a thought. Much appreciated, arrquiring now.

*aussieone watches and waits for Pescado to post something along the lines that Inge's Stay Things Shrub is the suxxzor because it corrupts the value of lots and then anticipates Inge entering the thread to tell him he's talking a load of old bollocks or somesuch.

A big draw of the Sims for me is the genetics. I love to watch families grow and genes get passed down, so, I started the neighborhood I have now about a year ago(?) and I've been playing it ever since.
Same for me. I like to see who new kids turn out and it's a nice surprise when you get a sim who inherits something recessive for a change. I have been playing Riverblossom Hills only pretty much, since BV first came out which was about a year ago I think.

Unless I have pre determined from childhood for storyline purposes, to determine what sexual orientation a teenage sim will be, I use TJ's crystal ball and click on the "I'm desperate and I don't care" option. I gives IIRC, 5, maybe 6 sims that your sim is compatible with. If my active sim seems to be more compatible with sims of their sex, then gay they will be, OTOH, if they roll more opposite sex sims, then I choose the straight option.
As far as who they end up with, it's usually the first sim in line on the crystal ball pop up who gets chosen. If they happen to be mega fugly, then I tweak them just a little with the makeover option on TJ's blender and make it stick in SimPe.

6. The pond/pool must be left in. They may be expanded, but not removed. Oh. Poo. I hate those things about this lot. Whoever thought of that needs to be beaten with a wet fish. Yeah but that's what makes this exciting. To see if someone can come up with an imaginative and aesthetically pleasing way to redo this monstrosity. Without the ugly pond and pool, it's just *another makeover. *Disclaimer: I can't build nice houses to save my life and I admit that, but it doesn't mean I won't can't coerce encourage others to do it for me.
