1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Need New Customers on: 2008 July 19, 20:23:46
I'm trying to get a top-rated business, but nearly all of the customers who show up already have 5 stars, so the business isn't progressing. Cry  How can I get new customers without any stars?
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: TwoJeffs Has Left the OTHER Building on: 2008 March 31, 17:46:03
Perhaps this one should be stickied and the other one about Twojeffs removed. Huh
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 December 14, 00:41:56
Sorry to be clueless, but even if you use the Maxis tool to remove SecureRom, won't it just install itself the next time you play using the CD?  I haven't been to the EA site, but are they recommending you use a no-CD crack?
4  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Immy Crown on: 2007 December 13, 21:23:12
If someone made a laurel crown, I'd make a Julius Cesaer sim. (And then of course, I'd have to make Cleopatra and Mark Anthony, and Brutus, and basically stage the Shakespeare play in my game. Hmm. That could be cool, acutaly....)

* Hecubus toddles off thinking about how to stage a play in the game
Oh, would you?  Please, please, please? Roll Eyes  I'd love to have them.
5  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Face Templates - Updated 2007-12-09 - #17 Added (Thanks Gwill) on: 2007 December 13, 21:15:34
Perhaps the dormies in the standard Uni neighborhoods are pre-made.  The dormies I see in the custom Unis I have made look like they use the alternate face templates I have loaded.

There's one here in Peasantry, at

There's a cat?  What cat?  Where?

On a side note: Will someone slightly more awesome than me explain MOAR to me - I see that acronym a lot. Slight flaming (and spanking) allowed, and maybe I might like it.
I'll take a stab at this, although I may be wrong.  I believe it is part of kitty pidgin, and means "more."  Check out LOLcats, aka cat macros - here's an example.

Speaking of animations, I don't remember seeing the check-my-underarrms one lately.  Did that go away during one of the EPs or do I just not have the right kind of sims?
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Did EAxis bork sharing beach front lots too? on: 2007 October 18, 23:08:49
I'm have a report that a lot I created for sleepycat's first beach terrain, that appeared to work fine in my game, is not placing well on someone else's hood, using the same terrain, and that terrain is nicely flat.
I haven't tried your beach lot yet, but just in case it doesn't work for me, could you put up some pictures in this or the original thread?  I don't have much imagination for creating but I can copy just fine.
11  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: The SC4 Terrain I did so I could have more beach lots on: 2007 October 17, 19:48:27
Not that it's a world beater or anything, but I can make my "starter beach hut" available if anyone wants it (must get some sort of fileshare account going).
Most definitely.  I hate building but your scenario sounds like fun, and I'd like to subject one of my new grads to it.  Be sure to say how much money it costs.  Thanks!

I don't know if I'm just lucky, or that much of a control freak, but I've never had a problem with bathrooms. Especially thanks to whatever EP introduced lockable doors. Never had a guest anywhere I didn't want one. And never have clogged bathrooms since I decide when they get to go (clogged bathrooms, no; clogged toilets - yes).
Do you never have a problem with guests at a party hanging around chatting in the bathroom and a sim who needs to use it has to shoo them out?  The best part of BUY is that sims immediately vacate the bathroom when they're done.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Three last questions, I swear this is it on: 2007 October 02, 17:08:06
Is it still a VBT to save a lot while a sim is talking on a cellphone?
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage on: 2007 September 26, 15:37:38
What happens when you replace the hotel doors with regular doors?  Can your sims sleep in those rooms even if you don't reserve them?  Although hotel lots are so laggy that I can't bear sleeping in the hotel, I just use maxmotives so they can get back to having fun at a normal speed.  This is the only place I have ever used maxmotives, normally I consider it too cheaty.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage dissatisfaction on: 2007 September 13, 21:32:43
I recall reading in the guide that the weather you will experience at your vacation spot is tied in to the existing weather in your hood, and that should be taken into account when planning a vacation.  Damned if I can recall the precise language, though, as my guide is at home and I'm here at work.    Something about seasonal quadrants..
I have the guide right here, and it is the seasonal quadrants that are matched.  I.e. if you are in quadrant 3 at home, and it's fall, then your vacation site will also be in quadrant 3.  That would be summer for Twikkii Island (summer, summer, summer, summer), fall for Takemizu Village (spring, spring, fall, fall) and winter for Three Lakes (fall, fall, winter, winter).

Do a book and the TV count as duplicate cooking skilling items?
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Moving the butterfly spot on: 2007 August 17, 20:07:42
If buttterflies were to be caught and released in a different spot would they stay in the new spot? I've never released any, so I don't know what happens to them.
The couple of times I've released butterflies, my sim went to the back of the lot.  I don't remember how long the butterflies stayed there.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Moving the butterfly spot on: 2007 August 09, 18:15:04
I can't even click on the butterflies/fireflies.  I keep moving the cursor all around near them and on the ground but the little hand never pops up.  So I can never direct my sims to catch them, they just have to do it spontaneously.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: ok.. how do I change a name? on: 2007 July 27, 20:29:29
This other thread http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,9199.0.html says that changing names in SimPE is dangerous, but I do it often - first name, last name, family name (the one that shows with the lot).  Have I been messing up my 'hoods? Huh
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Buyable craftables on: 2007 July 25, 20:35:31
Sometimes it seems like it just depends on what the InterTubes are doing at the time.  Just try later and see if it comes up then.  It's happened to me, and trying again usually works.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Microclimates in Uni? on: 2007 July 24, 20:05:01
thats how I was playing my current hood and I liked it but recently I decided to play only 1 household...so I made everyone else in the hood into townies, some are still married too *laughs*  (I grew up all the kids to adults)
How is making the other playable sims into townies different from just not playing them and letting them stay in their houses?
You don't see the plumbobs over their homes. Personally, I find excess plumbbobs distracting when trying to find a house in a crowded 'hood.
Aha, I see.  If you turn everyone on a lot into a townie, does the lot retain its furnishings?

What are those green and orange things on the floor next to the keg? I never really looked at them before.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: delete lots from outside game? on: 2007 July 17, 17:31:06
What about the ones with names like cx_Character_cx_yada_yada_etc?  Only 1 KB big.  Leftovers from lots with characters included that Clean Installer removed?
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: delete lots from outside game? on: 2007 July 17, 16:54:56
I've done it too, TaWanda, with no ill effects so far.  Clean Installer loads them up the whole folder at a time, gives a picture, super easy.
This is so cool!  I never would have thought of using Clean Installer this way.  I found 2 duplicates which I removed.
