I have tried your suggestion and I am still getting this error...any other suggestions or advice...my game is pretty mod free still.... Undecided
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What happened to the clothing tool? on: 2008 July 07, 11:59:51
I'm having these same two issues too....I've re-downloaded "autoyak" just in case I had an outdated version .... don't have time to go back in game to check if this worked or not but will do so asap....go ahead and laugh and point but what the heck is dead nesses....?
4  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: "Walk to?"....feature (Solved) on: 2008 January 11, 12:46:33

I use the 'walk to' feature all the time and I've never had a problem with it. Problems with it were caused by hacks that needed to be updated as already mentioned.

Why wouldn't you want to take the time to find the file causing you the problem? seriously, if it is breaking one feature, it's probably breaking something else too.

Alright already, sheesh, you can quit poking, I"ll get to it promptly!  But if you've only gotten back up to playing without any major issues you'd be more interested in the playing part as opposed to the searching through, though not tons of hacks, enough that it will take time.  But you are right, I do need to see if something is causing an issue, so here I go....off to find the issue.... I'm going now...

Edit: Sorry I left something in that I shouldn't have....I seem to have that problem.... Embarrassed

Whew, okay I'm back, anyway I found the issue...it was the "antiwatchout".  I guess when I was updating the rest of my stuff I accidently overlooked that one cause I re-downloaded it and now I get to "Walk to Lot".....no more waiting for the freaking taxi and trying to keep my sims from wandering off to do something stupid....ain't this game grand!  Roll Eyes

5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Where the heck are all the girls/women? on: 2008 January 11, 03:29:28
Yeah, it makes me really mad that all the aliens in strangetown are related. So I made them unrelated. No parents/grandparents, no problem! A much better setup, makes the singles aliens useful.

I hear you on that but I'm not brave enough to go mucking around with that kind of stuff....so I just suffer mostly silently....weren't "they" suppose to fix that issue in one of the eps? I thought I vaguely remember hearing/reading about something to that effect....then again maybe not. I guess it's just one more issue...I mean feature of this game.
6  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: "Walk to?"....feature on: 2008 January 11, 03:13:37
I'm going to be sending another couple on a trip soon and I'm going to try it again. As far as hacks go I don't have alot of them....espically the ones that "control" behaviors....I kinda like to do that myself even if it makes me crazy. I mostly have just the Awesome ones , and of course the puppy killer, yes I know but I LIKE IT.....Oh and sorry to the poster I made Crazy it wasn't my intention but my kids do often acuse me of doing that to them , maybe they have something. Undecided I hadn't really looked into this cause I really just got back into playing due to computer issues but I'll be doing some research to see if I can find a solution.

Edit: After doing my "research" I have come to the conclusion that I am better off NOT using this feature....so all I can say is "Never Mind" and goes back to what I do best lurking.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Where the heck are all the girls/women? on: 2008 January 11, 03:00:39
Well normally this isn't a problem cause I usually create what ever people I need...I'm trying really hard not to do this...I never manage to play them past 2nd generation cause I either lose interest or something , like a new ep, comes out and  I'll start over with a new hood....I'm takng a different approach this time.  I went and got twojeffs  crystal ball and it gave me some ya's for two of the Curious and they had 3 bolts for each other so I guess I complained too soon. I did unfornately have to get one though Uni....ugh.....cause I had sent her, unknowing that she would have a future romance with Vichund (?),  and  as far as the singles I had them paired up already....that was pretty easy....and pretty much any "aliens" I have I usually pair them up with someone who isn't, just it case they happened to be related.
8  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / "Walk to?"....feature (Solved) on: 2008 January 10, 15:41:57
I have tried this with 2 different sets of couples on a vacation lot....cause I hate having them have to call for a taxi and then get side tracked and wander off ....but all it does once it cues up is to disappear out of their cues....I get the who is going with whom and where but after making my selections....well I get nothing.  This happening to anyone else?  This is the first time I've tried this feature so I'm not sure what's going on with it.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Where the heck are all the girls/women? on: 2008 January 10, 14:52:15
I just got back to playing my sims, due to computer issues and other things going on, and so I decided to start with Strangetown.  I promised myself NOT to creat any sims cause goodness knows the game provides more than enough....but man trying to find mates for everybody is giving me fits. I had the
gypsy come (which I normally don't even bother with but I was desperate) and any way for $3000 bucks she sent me the freaking cow mascot for one of the Curious.  Needless to say I sent the sucker back....NO thank you....I hate when it comes around when I'm "suck" in Boring Land, I mean University. Also to add insult to injury all the babies I've had born are all boys except for one girl I finally had yesterday.....I guess I shouldn't complain as I've actually been able to play the darn game  but still....sheesh.
10  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Borked Neighborhood? on: 2007 January 12, 12:43:09
What EP's have you got?  The terrain paint situation was improved from OFB (think it was OFB) - could try adding OFB if you don't have it..  Wonder what would happen if you took out the lot where you deleted that terrain paint out of the lots folder....  should be the last one edited if you don't know the lot number..  Move it out and try.  hope somewone more awesome than me can help.

I have uni, nl, ofb, glm,and pets....I thought that that was fixed too....and yes my games are patched....I also deleted some doors and windows, some that I may have had "inuse"....as far as the terrian paint I deleted I don't think I used it in any of my lots in that neighborhood but it may have come with a house I had downloaded....don't remember...I sure hope I can get it fixed....thanks for the help....tgdrysix
11  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Borked Neighborhood? on: 2007 January 12, 03:00:17
I've been trying to do a bit of "spring cleaning" of my highly bloated downloads folder so today I went in game to a neighborhood that I just use to build things in, there are no playables at all, any way as I was deleting floors, wall, and other build objects that I just didn't use or like, I got to the terrain paint....and deleted just one....it caused my computer to crash, and I'm thinking of all the stuff I finally got rid of and will now have to start over....however when I went back into the game and the same neighborhood everything was still gone like it was suppose to be , so I'm thinking I'm okay....unfortunately when I tried to go into the neighborhood I normally play it will get to the neighborhoon screen and then crash.....I haven't started to panic yet....I tried  deleting group cach ..... still crashing....so evidently I have deleted something that I shouldn't have and now it won't let me into that neighborhood.....if I go with a backup of the neighborhood  before I did the "pruning" will that work or is my neighborhood borked for good?  Suggestions are most welcome....I've put in alot of playtime in this neighborhood and haven't nearly scratched the surface of what I want to do with it.  Tgdrysix

Hmmm. The only problem with that for me is I would have to buy 2gb from the getgo. I only have two slots (dual channel) so I've got two 512gb sticks. Upgrading isn't a bad idea, though.
[/quote]

I have 4 slots so I guess techincally I could have up to 4 gbs of ram...but I think that would be a bit excessive... Wink  Smiley.... Having the 2 made a real big difference and I have everything set on high....and I do have alot of cc....so far so good....I'm running sims2, uni, nl, ofb, glamour, and now pets.....Tgdrysix
13  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Grief, woe, despair and hideous black screens on: 2006 November 24, 23:26:17
How much ram did you add?

I added another gb of ram....I started off with only 1, now I have 2.  Tgdrysix
14  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Grief, woe, despair and hideous black screens on: 2006 November 24, 22:59:49

I installed a dashing new NVidia GE Force 7600 graphics card about a month ago

I have a 7600 nvidia GT... which now works.....but only after I added another gb of ram....it would not run correctly with only 1 gb....I would get the dreaded Blue Screen of Death everytime I played....sometimes I would get maybe an hour of play sometimes 5 minutes....I never knew and towards the end it would freeze up as I was saving....and there was nothing I could do but shut my computer down....it was very discouraging cause I had this compute build just to play this game.....now I can...but it took awhile to figure out what was the problem....hope your's get resolved soon....cause I've been in your shoes and it sucks....Tgdrysix
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sort Clothing by Categories on: 2006 September 25, 16:46:43
You can recatergorize clothing using SimPE.
Read this tutorial on the process here.

This link is most awesome......it was easy to follow and didn't take me very long to get my clothes in order....I guess some people like having  formal wear as everyday but it just irked the you-know-what out of me.....so as the "sheep" are so fond of saying ....Thanks!!! (not that I'm claiming to be a sheep or anything....BaaaBaaa....I mean Bye Bye).... Tgdrysix

So 1GB ram isn't really big enough? How very tedious when I bought this machine specifically for running the goddamn sims! Just how much fucking memory does this whore of a game require, then?

I wasn't able to run this game untill I upped my ram from 1 to 2 GBs....now it let's me play.....Tgdrysix
17  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Invisible Visitors (With Pic) on: 2006 September 22, 16:10:49
I have this issue also.....but I have OFB....my invisible sims are shopping or in a resturante......I can't click on them either and I can't tell who they are to try to fix them....they do however interact with other sims on that lot....maybe  it's a "feature". Tgdrysix
18  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Video Card Fiasco, SLI error? on: 2006 August 23, 17:58:11
It's not entirely Sims2 related, but it does involve my game. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT.

My game has been rendered unplayable by consistent Blue Screen of Video Driver Death. Every time I start up Sims2, it'll load up a neighborhood, let me play one of the houses, then BOOM! Freeze, BSOVDD. It used to let me play for longer (20 minutes or so) before dying, but last night, I barely got three minutes into playing before the freeze. It always gives the error of nv4_disp.dll (which dxdiag lists as my main driver).

It started out of the blue- I'd been using these same drivers since I installed the new video card a couple of months ago, and they'd been fine, no blue screens, no errors. When it started, I updated the drivers, but it didn't help.

Thing is, we've never had two video cards installed, and therefore, we can't figure out why this error started coming up when we hadn't changed anything. We don't have any options in the SLI menu to change anything.

Other games aren't crashing.

Would doing a complete reinstall help any? Could it be something in the game messing things up, or is something more serious wrong with my computer? I'm just at my wits end here.

Welcome to my world.....have the same card and same issue....haven't been able to play my game since.....it's probabley been going on about 2 months now.....I would really love a solution too!  I miss playing my game. *Sigh*  Tgdrysix
19  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Adding Memory....On of scale of 1 to 10.....how difficult should this be? on: 2006 July 01, 16:41:41
Some motherboards have trouble working with all memory slots filled up. I wouldn't be surprised if you swapped the 4 512MB sticks with 2 1GB sticks and it worked.

Well that would be my luck!

ETA: updating your motherboard's BIOS might do the trick.

My brother mention something about this but that's when I pretty much bailed on the situation....dizzy blurry making me it is......my little computer guy is suppose to be looking into this sometime, maybe today, not holding my breath... Undecided...going get more books.... Cheesy....they make me laugh....Tgdrysix

It sounds to me like it's just bad ram. Did you get an off-brand?

Corsair XMS 1 GB (2x512 MB) 184-pin DDR SDRAM unbuffered DDR 400 (PC-3200) It's the same type I ordered when I ordered the orginal parts for my computer a couple of months ago....I didn't want to get an off brand....and both of the sticks worked if I only had 3 in the slots....I tried them both by swaping them out....Tgdrysix
21  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Adding Memory....On of scale of 1 to 10.....how difficult should this be? on: 2006 July 01, 13:55:40
And I'd say you've probably either got a bad stick of RAM or one or more dirty/corroded slots.  Was there a lot of dust in your computer's case when you opened it?

No it wasn't too bad, dust wise, I had just recently "cleaned" it out cause with the case I have you can see inside and it bugs me if I see too much of it in there.....I do have ALOT of downloads....you'll never get me to tell how much NEVER I say.... Wink.....I'm waiting for my little computer guy to come back....he thinks it may have something to do with the motherboard not getting enough power....I don't know....I get dizzy and my eyes glaze over when he starts talking about that kind of stuff....I just want it to work I don't need the details....Thanks for the response....Tgdrysix

for now I'm reading....got into the Jane Evanovich series.....up to #4

Whoopee!  Reading about Miss Plum's mishaps (and Ranger) is much more fun than playing with pixels.  Especially if you have a good imagination.   Grin

Enjoy.....I have them all and just finished 12.

I'm half way thru #4 and have already contacted my bookstore for the rest.....I don't usually stay up very late at night cause I have to get up so earlier to get my husband out of here....on the first book I was reading I look at the clock and it's like 1:00 am.....and I'm thinking this isn't going to be good....needless to say I'm running on empty when it comes to sleep....can't seem to put the darn things down.....Tgdrysix

Well I got the guy who built this computer for me to see if he could figure out what the heck was going on....happy to report it did the same thing to him.....not that I am happy that I'm having issues just that he had them too which means I'm not crazy or doing something wrong....he will back to "work" on it some more, maybe one of these days I'll get to play my game for now I'm reading....got into the Jane Evanovich series.....up to #4....Thanks for all the responses.....Tgdrysix

Cause it ranks right there at a 10 for me!!! Angry   On the recomendation of my brother, who just built a new computer for himself, suggested that some of the issues I may have running this game could be to not having enough memory, I have 1 gb,  (which the guy who built my computer said would be enough), being at my wits end and ready to chuck this computer and the sims2 out the window, I figured I'd add some memory.....so I ordered the exact same memory sticks that I ordered when I had the computer built about 2 months ago....cause I didn't want to just get any ole memory......so I tentively open up the computer....locate the slots and added the memory sticks making sure they "clicked" in place as per directions....fired up my computer and it came on but the monitor didn't.....so I'm thinking maybe I accidentally cause something to come loose.....checked everything and it all seemed to be in it's right places.....so I call my brother who started this mess figuring he could help me "clean it up"....at his recommendation I first tried moving over the old sticks replacing the new ones in their slot.....same thing.....computer comes on but not the monitor.....next we tried taking the new stick out leaving the old sticks in their new position....computer came on , monitor came on......great.......then we put in just one of the new sticks in and turned on the computer....it came on the monitor came on.....great.....replaced the first new stick with the second new stick.....computer came on, monitor came on....great......(conclusion, new sticks were good).....put the remaining new stick in and computer came on monitor didn't.....WTF is going on?Huh This even stumped my brother.....so he went seaching for solutions but really couldn't find anything cause it should work.....he said something about BIOS stuff and I pretty much bailed at that point.....so once more I seek the wisdom of the more awesome than me folks here who could give me so insight to what the hell am I doing wrong.....and what should I be doing right.....hat in hand I slink away to await your responses.......Tgdrysix
