1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Was he supposed to take the baby to work? on: 2006 February 24, 15:07:11
I only managed to make all the stuffed animals "no talk through" because I was given directions *laughs*

Where could one find these directions? Smiley

I think it's great that you did this Data and were also so willing to share. I've no inclination to mesh myself but I imagine that it must take lots of time n' practice n' fine-tuning over time. Mostly my co-dependent self is hoping that you don't let the comments of others get you down so go data go... Or something cheery n' optimistic like that anyway. Wink
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Are the Critical Fixes Ok with NL? on: 2005 November 26, 16:42:24
Thanks Again...

It was autosoc that I was looking for and I'm just throwing it in there and hoping for good things or else they're never gonna make another friend. I've also added autoyak, encouragifcator, and the firemod. Dear Lord, the fire I had last night; nearly burned the whole bloody dorm down but only ended up losing a cheerleader in the end and cheerleaders are abnormally happy individuals and should really die anyway.

I do love that uni clock! Sync is good. Smiley
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Are the Critical Fixes Ok with NL? on: 2005 November 26, 10:35:23
Thanks Blue... This will be good news for my currently socially depleted sims. They haven't been making friends 'cuz I've zero inclination to watch and point and guide the entire affair. Macro control goes back in.

What about lot debugger? Can I add that too?
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Are the Critical Fixes Ok with NL? on: 2005 November 26, 06:56:26
What about MacroControl, AutoYak, and the Uni Final Clock... Do those still need to be updated or are they okay to use as is?

I finally got NL today and the oodles of fun I was having lasted mere moments until I realized I needed all my hacks back. I really don't know how I ever played without all the good stuff from here. I'm not so much a gushing kind of gal... But - Thanks. This is the stuff that keeps us all playing. Kudos. Good job. Keep it up.

I'm reverting back to my usual crabby n' sarcastic self now Wink
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Chemistry of Attraction... on: 2005 November 23, 20:46:18
Three bolts is nearly fatal, they will starve themselves, pee themselves or whatever to do nothing but suck face, play, flirt and hug on each other. It's ridiculous. Two bolts seem to be fairly decent but they do still tend to spend an awful lot of time ignoring the most basic of needs from their offspring as well as themselves. One bolt seems to be about the best I have found so far for my style of play, just enough wants for each other without being manic.

My very first date with my now-boyfriend lasted three days. No one peed themselves and we obviously didn't starve but we really didn't eat a whole lot either. So I guess we're three bolt types but a year and a half later and I still love our manic ridiculousness! Cheesy

I also really think I need to break down and get NL soon. Ooh - It does sound like fun! But is it safe now? Most mod's updated? Glitches worked out? Or since I've already waited this long, should I keep waiting until the casual romance mod is compatible? Suggestions/input most appreciated. Smiley
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Holiday X-mas Pack - Is it worth it? Please report all bugs and "issues" here on: 2005 November 23, 20:37:48
I used to think that I was loquacious... And Then I met SyberSpunk!  Wink Cheesy

Insert "No Malice" smilie... Just a friendly observation. Carry on as you were. Smiley
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: uncancellable action leads to frozen sim...help! on: 2005 November 23, 03:44:09
The phone is just evil... I am so NOT a phone person; not in my game, not in real life. I do not like the phone.

But I've had the exact same freezing you describe with the phone many times in my game. I've fumbled my way out of it this way or that but I'd be awfully curious as to the best way to fix it... Or even what's causing it to begin with.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does this mean what I think it means? on: 2005 November 18, 09:37:43
No need for thanks... It was more of a personal compliment Wink

'Cuz personally I think I've got a very good shot at being a Brynne-type when I grow up... IF I ever decide to grow up, that is. I'll definitely be a girl-type though. The boy-type Brynne's always spell it differently. No one ever seems able to pronounce either.

I'm going to bed now... I fear I'm only making sense to myself at this point.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does this mean what I think it means? on: 2005 November 18, 08:43:12
Seeing as this thread relates to the newsbox...what exactly are Brynne type people?? LOL

Brynne-type people are exceptionally cool - and definitely girls.  Wink
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Only one thing on their minds.... on: 2005 November 03, 01:34:31
I think I must be a vampire in real life then Wink

Moving along now on the basis of too much information! Cheesy
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Typical Playing Day? on: 2005 November 02, 03:30:44
I will admit that I've put off doing quite a few projects since I got the game.  After all, it is much more fun to play TS2 than strip wallpaper, paint, and clean!

Just about anything is more fun than stripping wallpaper! While I'm destined to forever be more of a lurker here, I haven't even been able to do that he past month as we're in the midst of extensive renovations to a new house purchase. And yup - People that paint over wallpaper should be shot, I reckon. Ick! Nasty job to remove. Thankfully, we've now passed that phase and are finally far enough to start texturing the walls. Since we wouldn't want to have two different textures - Oh no we wouldn't - my boyfriend is doing all of that chore, leaving me oodles of time to sim at the moment. How freaking cool is he?!
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife Rocks (Gasp!) on: 2005 September 25, 03:30:58
when my Sims hit college, I won't have them do class-related stuff like term papers or assignments unless they have a Want for it.  Since it's trivial to get a 4.0 grade if you make any effort at all, it becomes a game to see which Sims will graduate with based on their own "efforts."  I do make them study the required skills, since many aspirations never roll "get a skill point."

I've just started playing Uni like that myself... Unless they actually roll the want there's no classes, no assignments, no papers - Not even skill accumulation. There's plenty of time for them to earn skills later in life and I was starting to hate everyone coming out of uni with perfect grades ready to just roll right into their dream job. Of course, a lot get expelled now but it's interesting to see who does and doesn't and the story lines are more intriguing for me now. 'Cuz university should be fun damnit! Wink
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Why are they fighting? on: 2005 September 21, 08:14:48
Kennedy was the first sim I ever killed.

Because I seem to be losing brain cells daily, I'm still struggling with the immediate instint that your posts are mine. However, that one would be true. Kennedy was the first sim I ever killed too.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: telephone answering machines for sims on: 2005 September 21, 08:11:49
I don't think I'd use an answering machine for my Sims actually. I always play with the ringer off and only get them to use the phone when absolute necessary: Exactly like my real life. I seem to have missed that particular girly gene and if I struggle to listen to my own messages - which all my friends and family can surely attest to - I'm sure I'd struggle to listen to Sims messages too.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Woo-Hoo Sim Who Will No Longer Woo-Hoo on: 2005 September 21, 08:04:11
Thank you muchly... My eyes aren't quite open yet but I appreciate the response and will definitely look into the logs after more coffee.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / The Woo-Hoo Sim Who Will No Longer Woo-Hoo on: 2005 September 21, 04:54:43
Heavy sigh... A long day with much apprehension for tomorrow: I just wanted to play the game and relax for a bit but we all know it's not always relaxing.

So... University only. I was mere hours away from finally giving in and buying NL when I read about Ancient Sim's memory wipe-outs and am now reconsidering all over again. Romance Mod obviously installed.

Ms. Heather Huffington has been casually woohooing her way all over campus. How much do I love that she won't actually sleep in the bed with them afterwards? But yeah - I understand where the chick's coming from. At any rate, she finally rolled the want to fall in love with Andrew Thayer who she had previously woohooed; albeit casually. And now that she's in love, they can no longer woohoo the old fashioned way. It started in the hottub where everytime she tried, he'd just suddenly pop out: Premature Evacuation if you will. I bought a new tub to no avail and then moved them to the bed where Andrew does remain but all animations cease and both seem stuck until I cancel everything out again.

Exited, entered the game again: Same thing and Heather and Andrew just can't get it on. Further research showed that other Sims could woohoo in the same bed and hottub and now I've discovered that I can force Heather into love with other Sims and she'll woohoo with them also - Just not Andrew Thayer. Even more research - and much frustration and grumbling - sees that while his daily and lifetime relationship levels are both in the high nineties with her, Andrew still doesn't love Heather. I could understand his inability to traditionally woohoo if he doesn't love her but he's not actually refusing: Just jumping out of the tub and freezing in the bed -> Performance anxiety perhaps?

Am I missing something here or is Andrew Thayer just broke? Will Heather Huffington ever be able to woohoo the only sim she actually loves? Oh the suspense.  Tongue

Miniature Dachshunds can also be litter trained... She just hated the harsh elements of the great outdoors and would rather take her punishment than get a smidge wet, shiver in the snow, or risk melting on a sunny day. So my boyfriend finally trained her to use a litter box and it's been smooth sailing ever since. Our lab continually shakes his head at the doxie in disbelief - and I hafta admit that I still roll my own eyes too but at least I'm not cleaning up messes anymore.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: University installation advice? on: 2005 September 18, 13:08:42
I've tried fewer but the chaos of eight actually does makes it better for me... This of course in no way relates to the fact that I seem to live my real life in a constant state of chaos too.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: University installation advice? on: 2005 September 17, 22:19:24
Now see? I always play with eight controllable Sims in the dorms: Getting as many in and out as fast as possible being my theory. And I no longer send anyone to college that doesn't have at least an interest of seven or eight in school. I have to keep wondering why I even send anyone to college 'cuz I really don't so much fancy that aspect of the game at all... Then again, there's a lot of things about this game that make me wonder why I play sometimes. Wink
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: driveway placement difficulty on: 2005 September 17, 04:03:47
Thank you both very much... I do so hate building houses.

Merrily off to download even more now
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife bugs on: 2005 September 16, 22:59:05
Sigh, nm my previous post. I didn't realize that when a contact calls you and you agree to go downtown with them, that your husband (all sims in household?) have to go too. I had had the guy doing skilling, and so apparently the taxi was waiting for him. Either that, or taking out the downloadable hot rod, fixed it.

Seriously Huh

I'm still nightlifeless but I don't generally make it a point for my husband to go out on dates with me - Suppose that's why I divorced him!
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: driveway placement difficulty on: 2005 September 16, 22:38:39
Can anyone recommend a good site to download houses from? I'm not on the NL bandwagon yet so they don't necessarily hafta allow room for driveways n' such but I've heard so much about all kinds of shit coming with downloaded homes that I've never quite worked up the courage...

I noticed another sort of wierdness communication animation though, where sometimes when dining on a date, two sims look away from each other when they're having a conversation.

I've noticed that the male species tends to do this in real life even at the best of the times. Was there a TV in the vicinity? Perhaps a pretty waitress or another patron walking by? My otherwise perfect partner even does this in our own home as the dogs seem endlessly fascinating to him. Oh hell - Who am I kidding? He can do it in an otherwise empty room: Just sitting there chatting - or listening (Huh) - to me and looking all over the damn place. I think men are "shipped" with ADD fully in tact! Tongue
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A few nice features.... on: 2005 September 16, 03:07:20
Just a few new features of Nightlife that I like:

Cool. Thanks Karen. It was nice to read about some of the good things in NL rather than all the scary buggy stuff... But I'm still too scared to install it myself! Cheesy
