1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Stretched Screen on: 2011 September 08, 01:33:07
Along with my new computer I got a flat screen monitor, and the aspect ratio is different from my old screen.  The Sims appear stretched out horizontally a bit.  I can live with it if I have to, but I'd really like to go back to the old aspect ratio.  I thought there would be an option in the setting menu, but I don't see it.  Can someone help me out?

Good idea.  Thanks, Mootilda.

I haven't played TS2 for about a year because my old machine didn't have a DVD drive and Apartment Life only came on DVD.  Well, now I have a brand new, shiny machine with Win7 and I have reinstalled all the EPs through Freetime.  Before I did that I renamed my "EA Games" subfolder of Data to "EA Games old".  I played just a little bit after installing each EP to be sure it worked.  Now I'm ready to install Apartment Life.  I'm assuming I again rename the existing "EA Games" (eg. to "EA Games new"), then rename "EA Games old" to "EA Games" and proceed with the AL install.  Also I should make sure I have the final version of each of Pescado's hacks.  Does that sound correct?

Thanks, folks, it does seem to work.  Although the display is stretched out to fit my new wider screen.  Oh, well.

I just got a new computer with Windows 7, and when I installed The Sims 2, I got a message from the Program Compatiblility Assistant that "This program has known compatibility problems."  When I click the button for "check for solutions online" it opens a new window with a link to download the update, and sends me to the site http://thesims2.ea.com/update/index.php, where I'm told

I'm at my wits end and hope someone here can help.

Thanks in advance.
