1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: More Featured Than You on: 2012 December 30, 07:24:35
I made this:

pic

I submitted it to MTS for upload and it was rejected, apparently it wasn't appealing enough or something, bland I believe their words were.
The next day I was browsing and saw a recent upload of a house, it was on a 2x2 lot and it looked like a glorified cardboard box, 0 imagination or thinking effort put into it.

I want it, WCIF?

One of the main appeals of the Sims 3, in comparison to its predecessors, is the ability for the entire community to age collectively. Except, not so much. I don't know if the good ol' "testingcheatsenabled" cheat tripped up my game, but nobody in my town ages. I have confirmed numerous times that aging is indeed turned on. I have reset my Sims and moved them in and out of different houses. I have messed around with different lifespans. Nothing works. My Sims' aging bars are stagnant. I can only manually usher them into the next life phase through cheats.

I recognize that Twallan's Story Progression Mod will take care of the aging problem, but I'm hesitant to download it. My game has crashed in the past, and I hate to screw around with it by introducing foreign mods. I'd appreciate any thoughts on how to address this aging issue without having to resort to downloads.

Start a new game and see if the problem persists, it may be that your save is somehow broken. Or create a new family via CAS and see if it's the save or only the Sims. I've never had this problem, so I'm not sure what else to suggest...
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims 3 Folder Files Don't refresh upon Deletion on: 2012 December 16, 07:04:41
I happens to me too from time to time, but usually I just refresh and it's gone. Since I always find it in the Recycle bin afterwards, I just ignore the bug.

Actually, the point of this post is to say that my hard drive is not SSD and I also have windows 7 64bit, so I don't think it's related to the SSD, as witch suspects.

STUPID QUESTION ALERT!!!!!!!

Will the high fps kill a 660m?

Yes, why shouldn't too much heat melt it?
5  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2012 September 11, 07:40:36
Wish fulfillment is borked here too.
In addition, the new alchemy recipes need to be covered by BooksNotMagicScrolls. In my game they go puff! after being read.
6  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2012 September 09, 05:02:21
Please stop the constant zombie avalanches. They are not cool and I'm tired of using resetsim every time one tries to eat the garden.
Better, make an option to disable zombies altogether, so people who like them can keep them. The witch reanimation ritual will probably need to be an exception, though.
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 Patch 1.38 on: 2012 September 04, 06:45:52
Try downloading from beta: NO link

Yo, dipshit, the test version isn't made widely publicly available for a reason.

I think having the link posted once may be enough. And really, given that people usually need to be told to look 3 posts above theirs for a fix, with some luck nobody will notice who didn't know already.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Autosave saved when using Tab, now no map icons or motive/sim dashboard now on: 2012 July 27, 07:34:01
Have you tried pressing tab again? You didn't say.

Disclaimer: I don't use autosave and have never been in your situation, but I think it can't hurt to try.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: TS3 Store Content Fixes (Updated 07/21/12) on: 2012 July 24, 08:16:40
Looked into it, I can't make the stencil recolorable but I can remove it for you if you want.

Thanks, that would be great!

Doesn't this work? http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=478307
Admittedly, I haven't used it since 1.36 came out, but the creator has updated it and it may be worth a shot.

ETA: Post above was posted while I was searching for the mod. I think it's the same one.
10  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: awesome mod on: 2012 July 17, 06:06:38
why won't it work?

Because you're missing a framework component. There's a step-by-step tutorial at MTS, check that you've done everything properly before posting here again.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Do you crack previous versions of EPs? on: 2012 July 15, 15:14:39
You do not crack TS3. Search for an alternative.
12  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2012 June 03, 05:59:29
There's a clue in what you've written right there.

That the popup's called 'modify traits for active sim' instead of pet doesn't seem to be a problem. I can add and drop traits (the pet ones if I shift-click on a pet) just fine using it, with the only problem that I have to choose a minimum of three. I've actually used that and droptrait afterwards and the combo worked just fine. The only bug was addtrait adding sim traits to pets. But, since a workaround exists, it's not really that important anymore.

I can't think of anything else you might be referring to.

ETA: droptrait doesn't drop the pet version of the Adventurous trait. It says the pet doesn't have that trait. The pet wasn't born with it, it was trained, if that makes any difference.
13  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2012 June 02, 15:08:57
Does AM have a special addtrait function for pets? Because I just tried to add the genius trait to a kitten and it added the sim version of the trait instead of the pet version. It dropped the clueless trait just fine though. What I opened the "modify traits for active sim" popup, the sim-genuis trait didn't show up and neither did the pet-genius trait.
Did I miss something?

15  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod for 1.29? on: 2012 April 28, 12:09:36
Why don't you just update your game? I don't think there's any 1.29 version around anymore.
16  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2012 March 25, 09:08:27
I've installed showtime yesterday and I am already tired of the simport spam wishes. Could we have an option to disable them, at least while not logged in?

ETA: Also, could genies have NO autonomous behaviour before they're freed from their lamps? I currently have one that starts crying every time I summon it, so the 'wish for something' or whatever they call it interaction eventually drops from the queue.
17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Newbie needs help on: 2012 March 12, 14:56:54
You will want to remove it from that quote, then.
18  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patches 1.31/1.32 on: 2012 March 12, 04:43:10
Looks like I have a bad file:
"Applying DFC Update for 'Game\Bin\TS3W.exe'
Error: err0031 - Invalid file found"

My game is original but patch won't install. Any ideas how could I get a backup file?

Have you cracked the game?
19  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: weird jump bugs on: 2012 February 09, 19:34:11
I'm really glad, too, especially since it took me days to find out what caused the problem.
However, it wasn't the bed but its placement that caused problems. The bed itself wasn't even downloaded. I've tried with different beds though and the same thing happened, so it was definitely the placement. I placed it under the roof slope, where you normally can't place anything because the sims wouldn't be able to use/reach it then. I used moveobjects though, since I use Inge's hack which allows sims to sleep in inaccessible beds. It was neither the bed nor the hack itself that caused the bug.
The problem was the hack and the placement together and it didn't depend on the bed.

I must have been asleep when I wrote that, because you'd mentioned placement not the bed itself being the problem before.
20  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: weird jump bugs on: 2012 February 09, 15:16:32
Naiad, I don't know if you read the edit of my last post, because it seems that I found the actual problem. It was a base game bed which was apparently stuck or something like that, and it only happens when I place the bed at exactly that place. I use Inge's inaccessible beds mod, since I often have pretty small houses. On the lot where it happened, there were about 3 tiles where you couldn't place anything because of the roof slope, but I used moveobjects to place the bed there. And then, everytime someone slept in this bed, this error occurred. I replaced the bed and thought the problem was solved, but it wasn't the bed actually, but the fact that I placed it just there.

I noticed the bugs after getting this mod, which I took out of the downloads folder right after the bug appeared, but it didn't help.
The problem was that even when I took out the hack the bed was still where it was standing before, and moreover, there was someone sleeping in it, which caused the bug. I didn't get that it was because of this, though.

So you and morriganrant are right, because it was CC that caused the problem, at least indirectly, even if it took me that long to actually notice it.

I hadn't seen the edit, no. I'd hit quote before you edited, spent a while thinking and then posted, and did not notice your edit. Glad it's fixed! Mind sharing which bed, in case someone else has the problem in the future? I have a lot of CC in my TS2 game, for example, and wouldn't really like sorting through it in order to reinvent the wheel, so to speak.
21  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: weird jump bugs on: 2012 February 08, 13:30:04
Yes, it was the same house, but it also happens on other lots and in different neighborhoods. After moving them back the bugs vanished, but it happens again from time to time. And I forgot to mention that when this errors occur, the portrait of the sim changes frequently.
Besides, everytime it happens all sims on the lot are affected. I don't know if visitors are, though.
It also happens in other families, but not inevitably at the same time.

I'll try to remove all CC again, leaving only what is really important. The problem is that I never really know if I managed to fix it or not, because I dont know when it will happen again. Sometimes I just take out something from my downloads folder and then it works again, until the next time it happens and I realize that I didn't actually fix it. At first I thought it might have been a few AL incopatible hacks that caused the problem, since I believe it came with AL, so I checked for hacks I might have overlooked, but I didn't find any. Maybe I should try to find out what exactly causes the lot to freeze after I take out the entire downloads folder, since only lots affected by this bug seem to freeze. So if I could find the file responsible for that maybe removing it will help, if there even is such a file.

I don't know what else I to do, though, and it's just super annoying.

Truly, I don't know what might be causing the bug, since I've never encountered it myself, but what's the last piece of CC you added before the bug started occurring? Last time I played TS2 was a while ago, but I did have AL and this never happened, so it might not be the EP itself...
Perhaps you should try to test without the last 3-4 things you added, in turn, and see if that does anything? Maybe even non-mod CC too.
22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Clean Slate: Wonderful Relationship Fixer or Ruins Pregnancy? on: 2012 February 06, 15:00:25
If I did then hopefully I wouldn't have made a thread asking for the answer to a question that I already knew. So, no.

If you want to be completely safe, maybe you should just start a new game and test it there? I doubt anyone here will do it for you.
23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Any way to salvage Sims from a corrupted town? on: 2012 February 04, 06:33:53
The mod is Porter, yes, and it worked very well for me, but my save wasn't completely FUBAR yet when I used it. The good news, however, is that so far, my new save seems fine. I recommend a healthy dose of Awesome (mainly fixall) after using Porter though, just to be sure.
24  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Mod Censorship removal doesn't work here on: 2012 January 30, 19:10:03
as you can see, NoNudityCensorM & F are NOT enabled (& therefore should be left at their default values right ?) (& showconfig shows them as disabled so it should be fine right ?)

so do anyone have the slightest idea of what's going on here ?
Thanks.

You suffer from double negation fail. If NoNudity were enabled, you would have NO NUDITY CENSOR. However, with it disabled, you have no no nudity censor (=> nudity censor). Enable the option in your config and see if that works.
25  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Sims 3 Base Game with Awesome Mod on: 2012 January 16, 12:41:39
I use tthe Monkey Mod installer thingy with the framework provided here on the site. My mods all go into c:/program files(x86)/electronic arts/the sims 3/mods or something like that.    I know they're in the right spot.  I will try a few other things because I have trouble typing on this phone to reply.  I am pretty sure though it is not the framework.  Thanks I will not be able to test somethings I'm trying until around 4 AM central when I'm getting ready for work.  I have twofootmomma's mod from own site.  Yes.

The Monkey, as mentioned, is obsolete and has been removed from MTS. You should search for the new way of installing mods and use that now, as it's much simpler and, more importantly, somewhat supported. As much as can be expected of EA, anyway.
