Actually it should also be updated where it says [in the download thread's comment section] it's updated to 1.34.
While you may wish this to be so for the sake of convenience, you will be disappointed as FOJ does not update the thread comments every time he makes a change/update -- which happens quite a bit. KT is absolutely correct when he says that the most reliable way to know what version of AM you have is to look at the file date. While it is appropriate that the rtfm reflect the correct AM patch version (it is, after all, the manual), there may be several versions for any given patch. Look to the file date, but also read the fucking manual.

AM version information is updated exactly where it should be: rtfmActually, there is a fourth option. Once .36 is downloaded, ignore error messages and proceed to play game with AM previous version without a problem as I did. The only way this is a fourth option is if you choose to use an outdated and unsupported version of AM at your own peril. If this had been a more extensive patch, for instance an EP patch, you would have risked screwing up your game such that you would have needed to reinstall. Believe it or not, there is a reason that previous versions of AM are unsupported. It is a core mod. And since the status of AM as a core mod has been repeated and emphasized in this thread, on this site, and in the rtfm it would make sense, if one were ignorant of what exactly a Sims 3 core mod was (and if one weren't a lazy, speshul, snowflaek), to look for a definition on, oh, I don't know, let's say, Google. Beta asked a perfectly sane question to which he received varying degrees of abuse. Some of you are such smart alecks. What is obvious is that beta didn't see fit to search the site for the error message. Had "he" done so, this thread wouldn't exist. What part of Search Moar and Read the Fucking Manual don't you get?

Oh, for fuck's sake. This happens with every bloody patch. AM is always updated to the latest game patch and any previous versions are unsupported. Therefore you always need the latest patch to use AM. However, there is often a delay (and don't fucking ask, "How long?") between patch release and AM update. During this interval you have three options:
1. Wait to patch your game until the updated version of AM is released. 2. Patch the game and play without AM until the updated version of AM is released. 3. Patch the game and wait to play until the updated version of AM is released.
If you don't know what version of AM you have, look at the rtfm or AM file's date.

Did it work? Did you delete all the framework/files from all the Sims 3/EP program files? Are you fully and correctly patched? There are step by step guides on patching, installing package files, and troubleshooting at Mod the Sims. Read and follow them all.

It's not like AM requires some super secret, super complex handshake to work; everyone else can successfully use AM with either framework, but you can't. What does this mean? PEBKAC. You are doing it wrong.
Move your mods and non-store CC to a safe location. Delete any and all framework folders and files from the game. Start over using the Mod the Sims instructions. Add only AM (and the config file if you are using it) to your mods folder, delete scriptcache.package, start the game and check to see if it works.

Awesomemod works using either framework method, and since the framework outlined at Mod the Sims is marginally less complex (although neither could be said to be complex, really) you should follow their instructions.

Y'know how when you have a teen sim flirt with a young adult sim the YA rejects it (the first try) and gets the "Creepy" moodlet and the YA will only accept further romantic gestures after the "Creepy" moodlet disappears?
Well, it appears that the Creeped Out moodlet isn't much of a barrier if, as mentioned above, the moodlet only appears once -- especially in a family with more than one Flirty sim. In order to implement moral consequences, you'd need some sort of Deliverance- or Angels and Insects-type traits, or to build incest into the reputations system, or something more substantial than an ineffectual moodlet. However, I imagine there aren't a ton of people playing, or clamoring to play, the incest option, whereas the teen romance advocates are numerous and loud. It may be this, more than anything else, that inspired FOJ to implement the AM Pedobear system.

Nraas's Woohooer allows for Incest. Can we have family members whho try to flirt with each other get the "Creeped Out" moodlet too?
Have you tried taking this request (or complaint, rather) to NRaas? I personally see no reason to force T-T, T-YA or T-A woohooing. If there is a long aging up lag between members of a teen couple, there are any number of ways to even out sim ages built right into the game. Also, delaying the woohoo action until YA gives you something to look forward to and helps pace the game. But then again I use Rule of 6, i.e., I don't play teens exclusively.

It makes you wonder why people bother trying to market things to a demographic that lacks its own finances.
I know you shun teh spawn so you may not be aware that children are uniquely proficient at nagging -- it has something to do with the register of their vocal chords. Also, child product marketing is as much for parents as children.

The Sims 3 stuff is chockablock full of cultural references. For instance today I noticed that the crystal ball set decoration description references both the Lord of the Rings and the Magic 8 Ball. But I suppose, then, that since the Hidden Springs sims are neither aliens nor witches they are arbitrarily green. Unless the reference is to Kermit, since Muppets have eternal youth? And it ain't easy being green? Or maybe Hidden Springs is supposed to be like Brigadoon? But then the sims would need to be green ... tartan.

In real life "please" and "thank you" help us negotiate society. But then in real life we aren't walking around with an accumulated stack of every exchange made in every conversation. The idea behind sporking on MATY is to keep threads (especially game-related threads) from being clogged up with useless posts, such as Thank You Posts. Of course, there are some who claim that sporking defeats this purpose as it, too, clogs up threads with non-game-related posts. But consider this: How many useless posts does sporking prevent? MATYians believe the ratio to be a productive one.
The exception, however, is if a post is funny, in which case all rules and etiquette are made null. Mind you, MATY humor is often acerbic -- it tends toward satire, sarcasm, and insults. To post at MATY is to wear a "Kick Me" sign.

Go to Mod the Sims and read their information on patching the Sims 3. Read all of it. Make sure you are fully and correctly patched. While there find their instructions on how to install packages in the Sims 3 and read it. Read all of it. Make sure -- actually check, don't just assume (like Felix Unger) -- that you've done everything correctly. Then install AM, and only AM, (making sure to delete the scriptCache.package) and start a new EA neighborhood.
In other words, PEBKAC.

Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Random Crashing
|
on: 2012 June 03, 19:46:46

My interpretation is that the crash occurs if some objects around are or probably rather the object at the click position itself is not yet completely loaded. This assumption is supported by the fact that the game always lags when the crash occurs. It's like the game freezes and one or two seconds after the freeze began the game crashes.
Perhaps this is no more than a performance issue. If you try to run the game with parameters that exceed your computer's capability then all kinds of things can get hinky. Try turning the game graphics settings all the way down, start a fresh EA neighborhood, and see what happens.

Seems to me that those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Twitlights, you fail and demonstrate, yet again, why you are domed. I made the simplest edit required to make the sentence grammatically correct (depending on meaning - hence the two versions) rather than rewriting to match my personal preferences, as you have done. You consistently display a complete inability to think past yourself, and imo this, more than any other reason, is why you always fail.

But they will turn down the woohoo unless they're 'in the mood'.
Nope, no mood needed. All they need is to be in a romantic relationship and both relaxing on the same bed. It's a fast way to max the fun bar.
