Is there a way to hide the popups about flagrant system errors? I want to test something, but because the error pops up so frequently, I can't test without having to click it away every few seconds.

Having the same horse issue as Goggalor, but it's not just wild horses. Using a horse in the household and having them interact with an object that would create fatigue, such as the racing posts, the error will pop up. However, the exercise meter still fills and the thirst goes down. This happens every time a horse interacts with something that will cause fatigue. No idea if fatigue actually works since I haven't tested yet.

For people having problems on Macs, just decrapify the file. I installed Hidden Springs just fine.

Usually I can find my solutions on my own (hence lurking), but I'm trying to figure out a workaround to make BB work for Mac users. Since Decrapifying isn't really an option, does anyone have any suggestions?

The general answer is that you need to set up something like Bootcamp and install a second OS on your system.

Yep, I've got bootcamp set up with Windows XP running on my partition so I do have access to XP. What I'm more worried about is something getting lost in transition between OSes. I've got my Sims installed on the Mac side of my computer because it tends to run faster. Does anyone know if anyone's tried Decrapifying and then using the files on a Mac? If no one's got experience with it, I'm pretty okay with screwing around with my game for the purposes of experimentation regardless of explosiveness, but if someone's got an answer that saves me time, I'm all ears.
