TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims4 is not gonna happen on here, is it?

I'd tried to play Sims 4 before, and it looked okay, but in the end I found myself feeling pretty apathetic about it and dropped it pretty quickly. I reinstalled Sims 4 again today, felt a little more interested, and then decided to have a peek over here. Nice to know that this is apparently the year everyone decided to tinker with it again.
I look forward to seeing if Pescado ever rolls anything out for the masses.

Negative aspirations are not very realistic. No one has an aspiration to be a drifter or a loner. What would be more realistic is for it to be possible for a sim to have no aspirations at all.
I have to disagree with that. There are actually a lot of people who "don't want to be tied down by responsibility", either to other people, possessions or situations. I like having stuff myself, some people don't. There have been times in my life when I was absolutely not interested in meeting people and making friends, other people are very outgoing and aren't happy unless they are liked by everyone. I could see negative aspirations working well. As far as what I'd like to see- It would be interesting to see a "self sufficient" aspiration that involved living off of gardening, fishing and crafting. They could fear owning a car or "so and so takes out trash" rather than composting. The fear of owning expensive things would also make sense for them. Guess all the "Go Green" propaganda lately has gotten to me. Wants to donate money to charity and donate time to non-profit work might be interesting ways to burn some sim cash and get unemployed sims out of the house for a few hours. Also, I'd like to see memories of meeting a sim go into some sort of "dormant mode" (meaning it wouldn't show in the memory panel) if the relationship remains at 0 for a few sim days. If a week, or two, passes without another meeting that memory and the relationship panel entry should auto delete. I get tired of every sim in the hood ending up in my sims memory and relationship panels. Also, murder.

Its because they are being linked either directly to this thread or the index.
Yes, I know this. I tried to split the entire thread except for my post into a new thread (which would give it a new thread id, and so "fix" the direct thread links), then keep this thread as a locked "here's a link to the download. Do not register. Do not post. Go away." post. Unfortunately, it failed, because you can't split the OP of a thread into a new thread. Can you not just make an entirely new thread, move all these replies into that thread, and then edit the original post of this thread?

My dl folder went from 1.34 GB to 799 MB. I did it one sub-folder at a time. There was one file that went from 2kb to 0kb that I was a little worried about. The first time I ran my game it actually seemed to take longer to load but after that things went more smoothly. Probably I should have deleted the groups cache first but never even thought of it. I did load and even play a house for awhile so things seem to have gone really well. It would be helpful to be able to see the file name but I see you are working on that already so that's cool.

This was posted by Zythe on TSR a long time ago. There was a post with a pic of the process but the link goes nowhere now. :-( The easy way to do this is: 1) open a command window (Start - run - cmd) 2) go to the folder (cd "My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhoods\N004", enter) 3) type this command: REN N004* N00Y* 4) go to the first subfolder (cd characters, enter) 5) repeat 3 6) go to the second subfolder (cd .. , cd lots, enter) 7) repeat 3 Cool go to the third subfolder (cd .. , cd Storytelling, enter) 9) repeat 3 10) go to the last subfolder (cd .. , cd Thumbnails, enter) 11) repeat 3 or use http://www.123renamer.com/download.htm

This happened to me when I had one of my sims move in her police officer boyfriend. He brought 2 million dollars with him. I about fell over. He was a base hood NPC moving into a base hood home though so that doesn't really follow what others have said about the cross hood issue.

I think I had to exit and reload twice after I enabled before everything showed up.
Can you delete cigen? I just wondered cause once i moved it out of the folder and onto my desktop and then loaded the game. Nothing bad happened but it didn't respawn either so I just put it back.

I love Veronica Mars. I can't wait for the new season. I started watching just after the start of the first season cause Kyle Secor was on ( I still follow some of the Homicide actors) and I was instantly hooked. We burned my sister a disc of season one and she kept saying she didn't know when she would have time to watch. Once she got started she watched them all in one night! She called me very early the next morning yelling at me cause we had missed the last ep when copying them over. She had to wait three days to find out how it ended and whined the whole time about when we would be bringing it over. Poor baby, jezze! I had to wait all season.

I use a skintone from Rensim on my self-sim, and I love it. Not too shiny or oily looking. It looks odd on the guys, though. I think you have to create the sims AROUND a lot of these custom skintones because they all have different shading, etc. If you just switch skintones, sometimes things look a little "off". http://rensim.com/index.phpThis is so great I even hit "Thanks" a couple times. I have been wondering about that skintone since I joined CJ the other day but kept thinking I'd look around some before asking. I was about to break down and ask when I stumbled across this thread. I never would have found it on my own. I am so glad there are people around who aren't afraid to ask questions or I'd probably never find anything out. BTW is that the same as the one your avatar sim is wearing? If not what skin is she using? It is so hard to find ones that aren't to shiny looking (odd highlights etc.) or Way to realistic (I don't need to see their pores) for my taste.

I'm hanging around too. I was looking for something new to read and here it is. It was kind of lonely in here.
Thanks for the tip on fixing the appearance too!
*Well okay I tried the tip but it didn't work for me. It went back to page not found or whatever so I had to put it back.*

I use clothing, hair, and make-up to give my sims "personality". I of course usually consider their personality points as well. Then I just fill in the blanks with my imagination. Things happen and I dream up motivations for it that make sense. Or sometimes based on who I have decided they are I have to rig certain things to occur.
Anyway imagination is indeed the best part but just watching things happen is fun too.
