New member here, I'm sorry for any noob behaviour.
I tried installing the new patch from the launcher, as it have worked before. (No, I don't have a legal copy. I know that it was probably a bad idea.) Anyway, it installs normally but when close to 100%, it says "Invalid file found" and then it shuts down. Instead, the darn program started to install one of the old patches, and I mean REALLY old patches. I thought I already had them all, but the installation worked fine. So far, so good? Tried to install the 6.1 patch again, and still got the same problem though. I have googled the problem and someone said that it might work if I remove the crack and put the original TS3EP03.exe back, and so I did. The problem didn't go away, so now I ask you.
Pwease help me solve this problem, before I commit seppuku?
(Oh, and I also tried downloading the patch linked in OP's post, problem didn't go away..)
Don't use a cracked .exe, you can't patch your game if you use those. I've read putting the originals back when patching works but it never has for me. Use awesomemod or Nraas no cd mod. Cracked .exes are evil, at least for Sims 3, the Sims 2 ones still allowed you to update.

The launcher doesn't break them. They don't install because YOU DIDN'T PAY FOR THEM. I decrap store stuff and have never had to decrap my save files. I believe that's only if you switch from one method to decrapping, since you may have store items used in your game already. making a few large package files is pretty much the same thing as making dbc files, so it really doesn't matter. And I do believe, once again, the decrap process just changes the item instance number so that the launcher just "reads" it as a normal sim pack instead of store content.

...I don't know all those technical terms like numbers and such....
Are you fucking serious? Turn the computer off and walk away, I'd say run but you might hurt yourself. I didn't realize anyone would take that comment seriously. My apologies. Well you are asking about how to install framework, asking how numbers work isn't that far off.

And what do I do if there isn't a no-CD crack? I've been looking around for one online for days and haven't found one.
You're doing it wrong then. I'm going to assume your actually looking for a "Fun With Pets" no CD crack. Think about that for a minute and try again.

Okay, as far as I understand, with AM SP active the game will not spawn vampires. Correct? If so, how do I go about creating a vampire? I would like a few in my worlds but don't know how to create them if none exist to begin with. Is there a command I need to use or must I load Bridgeport and befriend/export one from there?
Not sure how you would go about it using AM but there is a mod at MTS that lets you change your sim to any of the in game "monsters."

Yea I know, I just don't like the extra pie menus Twallan's mods add. It is better than nothing I suppose, since he does update rather quickly.
Yeah, the pie menus are the only real downside for me. All of his mods seem to do it, so once you get more than one in there, it starts getting pretty cluttered. Well I just found out the maker of the"Extended Game Core" over at MTS is giving up on up keeping that mod so it looks like I'll be going on over to Nraas.
