TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Clean custom neighbourhoods + townie creation (pre-Pets only!)

Okay...I've got something worrisome in my neighborhood now, after following the steps outlined above. The hood was animal- and additional-sim-free after following Pescado's instructions for upgrading to Pets. It is still additional-sim-free. But SimPE now shows a grand total of 57 Unknown sims. All of them appear identical (all but one, which has a "Life Section" setting of "Unknown" rather than "Adult"), and none of them appear to contain any actual character data at all in any of the panels of the SimPE character view. How did this happen? How bad is this? What should I do? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I believe the thing to do, then, would be to: 1) Follow Jordi's pre-creation instructions, installing SaraMK's empty templates also if desired. 2) Run OFB using Numenor's BaseGameStarter, and create the new neighborhood according to the rest of Jordi's instructions. Add subhoods based on the blank templates as desired. Save and quit. 3) Undo the file and folder changes from step 1. 4) Back up the new neighborhood. 5) Launch Pets, open the new neighborhood, wait for it to generate animal spam, then save and quit. 6) Per Pescado's instructions upthread, find the new NXXX_SuburbN file that was created in the new neighborhood in step 5. Pull that single file out of the neighborhood; replace the neighborhood folder with the backup from step 4; then add the NXXX_SuburbN file back in. That ought to work, right? My custom neighborhood seems to be okay and this process was what I went through, with the exception of step 2 (instead of using Numenor's tool, I created the neighborhood under NL before ever installing OFB and Pets).

I've been trying to hide this and the debugger and Macrotastics controller in my foundations but can't figure out how to make it work. Can that even be done if the whole foundation has already been laid...and if so, anyone have some handy instructions to share?

I was running the old Dizzy d2Check scanner today, and noticed that it turned up a potential conflict for this hack with harderjobs: File: petsp0-jobfixes.package, conflicts: Type = 53545223, Group = 7F8F4EB6, Instance = 12F in file harderjobs.package I'm presuming there's no reason for concern, but wanted to make sure that was out there.

Could this hack be the reason why I kept getting jump bugs with Monique's computer? *** POSSIBLE CONFLICT DETECTED *** File Type: BHAV Procedure Name: Computer - Sit In Computer Chair Group ID: 0x7F441294 Instance ID: 0x00002003 Packages Containing This Procedure: \downloads\crammyboy Hacks\CBOY_ComputerMadnessFixOFB.package \downloads\monique\monique Computer\MQ_Computer_Global_Bank_Controller.package Or is that conflict report a false alarm?

While we're sharing Inge info, she's got new updates for agecons and the Heirloom Cake at her new dinnerbell forum. Sounds like her shrubs are working okay in Pets (Stay Things and Days Left, and also the jordi version of Teleporter Plus (latest version posted on MTS2)). I'm not 100% sure on "No Autonomous Computer Games", but it had better still work properly, 'cause otherwise I'll go mad. Also not sure on the status of all the hiders; but I never wound up using those anyway, so I've just culled them.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets compatibility for crammyboy hacks: Definitive calls?

I've seen crammyboy's famous *cough* discussed on many threads, but searching has still left me up in the air regarding compatibility of most crammyboy hacks with Pets. Less than half the threads in his section have had any posts at all since the new EP came out; and while it was very kind of syberspunk to include many of them in his own compatibility thread, for all but a few that doesn't go any farther than an initial hackdiff scan. Anyone out there have definitive compatibility info for most or all of crammyboy's hacks? I am especially in the dark regarding: CBOY_NoCommLotFoodServe.package CBOY_NormalClothes.package NoForceWatchFight.package

Glad this is back up. I've been playing around with the Sims on an alternate machine and needed this.
But I got myself confusinated reading the RTFM, where it talks about installing some stuff if you have no expansion packs, but not if you do, something something controller v153, etc...
Do I just install all three .package files included in these rars and not worry about it?

I imagine a person should be careful in dealing with the stuck-pregnancy issue.
You wouldn't want to overcorrect for the problem and cause your pet to deliver prematurely. (Who knows what unpleasantness would result then?)

How many copies of The Sims 2 and its EPs and SPs have EA sold?
And I'm supposed to be worried about them spying on me, personally?
Nah. I don't think I'm that special or important.
Nor is anyone else. Surely it's aggregate data they're after; and I personally think it's a good thing if they have accurate data on what sorts of setups their users are running. (Though it'd be infinitely nicer if they'd ask first...)
So long as they don't muck around with the core functions of my operating system, interfering with programs other than theirs, I can't bring myself to care.

Ah crap. No choice now.... *moves to a small island off the coast of Africa*
They're already waiting for you on the island. Remember: they know everything already. Better pick a new hiding place. And fast...hear those black helicopters approaching?

Now here is where hackers could actually perform a public service for once.
Shouldn't it be possible to hack things so that the "phone-home" data is loaded with some...er...less-than-friendly code?
After all, in Soviet Russia, end-user spywares you!

Funny how results can vary so much from user to user (my nVidia has always treated me well), and even more from game to game.
Over on a Civ IV board I've frequented, I remember the ATI people envying the nVidia people because they were having so much less trouble with that game.
