I attempted this, at first with a large number of files, but soon realized that I was trying to merge too many files as I kept receiving error messages.

Once I started merging a smaller amount of files, I stopped receiving these messages, but after saving a newly merged file, S3PE stops responding. I'm not sure why this is or if this is at all normal.

My torrent finally finished just now. I'm installing it.

I noticed when I read the installation instructions that the last step is "Die like the rest." Creepy much?

Well, I'm back to torrenting. I knew getting a legit copy today was too good to be true. Woke up and discovered my wallet had gone missing. If my friend can't find it at her place, I'm reporting it as stolen.

I'm giving up and just buying the game tomorrow after my driving lesson. My birthday's in August and I'll get birthday money from family members that will make up for the purchase, anyway, which I'll put towards university. Financial problem solved (in theory).

I think my connection just plain sucks. As of right now, I'm living with my parents (yeah, I'm so cool) so I have no control over any of the Internet settings and don't know too much about it, since I've never had any control over it.

I'm okay with computers in general, but I am a n00b when it comes to this sort of thing, though I have used torrents in the past. I suppose if the speed continues to be unbearable, I will poke my computer whiz friend tonight and see if she is able to help improve the speed. She's usually the person who solves any and all problems I'm having with my Internet connection and/or computer.

Well, my speed was at 170 kB/s a while ago, which was shocking, but welcomed as that was the highest it's been since I started the torrent yesterday. Now it's back down between 8 and 10 kB/s. Pathetic, really.

I've already set it to allocate a high amount of bandwidth, but is there anything else I can try to help the speed along a bit? Perhaps changing some kind of setting in BitTorrent?

I wish I was a good enough builder to create sunken/raised rooms. Maybe this cheat will give me the opportunity to practice building some more.

I'm too cheap to pay for anything, especially since I lost my job and can't find another one AND I'm due to start university again this September and need every penny in my bank account to afford it.

My torrent is at 45.2% now and the ETA fluctuates between 14 hours and 3 days, so there's really no telling when it will be finished.

I wouldn't put it past EA to pull a dirty stunt like that. They don't seem to realize that tampering with mods is only hurting them, as the majority of players wouldn't purchase the game if they couldn't use custom content or hacks, myself included. They don't seem to understand the concept of getting more bees with honey than with vinegar.

Hm, all these problems make me a little wary to install the game. Still, there are many people who claim to have no issues at all. I've already set up my game to install Ambitions once my torrent finally finishes. I've moved my entire Mods folder to my desktop so the game is 100% vanilla. I don't use custom music, so there's no need to remove it.

I do hope that solves any problems for when I do install Ambitions. I often find that a lot of problems with installing new patches or expansions could have easily been avoided by removing the entire Mods folder, first, and running the game vanilla before putting the Mods folder back in.

Would simply blocking the game with Windows Firewall be effective? I'd rather not install any more programs on my computer if I can help it. I just uninstalled a bunch of programs I don't use anymore, completely cleaned out my entire computer and moved all of my media to my external to keep my C drive nice and empty for university in September.

That's what happened to me as well. It appeared to be finished downloading, but the file was broken and I couldn't extract it. The file's supposed to be 4.2 gigabytes, I believe, but when I checked the filesize of the download on my computer, it was only 1.5 gigabytes, which makes me think it only partially downloaded, then quit on me. This happened twice to me.

I gave up on the download after it died on me twice. My torrent is at 36.1% with an ETA of 1 day, 4 hours.

Yes, this is the same torrent I started downloading yesterday. The current time elapsed is 22 hours, 34 minutes.

The download's ETA is 1 day and the torrent's ETA is 3 days for me right now.

Neither of which really makes me happy, but I guess I just need to wait it out and see which one finishes, first. I just keep telling myself I will have Ambitions soon enough. I will just need to wait a bit longer than others. It is torture reading about other people playing it and looking at their screenshots, yet I cannot look away.

EDIT: The download just died on me and I had to start it over. It was running at 20 kB/s before it crapped out on me. If I don't have this downloaded by tomorrow, I'm just going to suck it up and cough up the forty bucks to buy it.

I knew it wouldn't be long before I asked a stupid question on here, and here it is: how do you stop the game from accessing the Internet without stopping it from letting you know when you need to download a patch or whatnot?

The ETA for that download is 1 day for me. Still painfully slow, but better than the 3 days I've got on BitTorrent.

Rad, check your graphics setting in Options. It may have changed the settings you had before you installed the new expansion.

I'm so jealous of people with high speed. Even with this torrent being seeded everywhere, my ETA is a week and I'm still at 7.4%. I may just suck it up and buy the game, even though I can't really afford it.

That is a gross invasion of privacy as far as I'm concerned, especially since they didn't warn us about that and ask our permission to log our data, first. They just did it. Most people wouldn't even realize their data was being logged and sent to EA if they didn't visit the Options panel in their game.

Will definitely be switching that off as soon as I get Ambitions.

Oh so the lighting only extends off the lot if there's terrain. Suddenly not as excited for that.
