TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Error in carpoolfix.package

Is carpoolfix the one that moves sims from in front of the bus exit toward the mailbox when they get off? I thought maybe it was, but I have it in my game, yet since I installed Pets they just stand there, sometimes for a very long time.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Looking for a hack
|

I just installed ZOMGPETZ!!!111oneoneone and now my student sims stand in front of the bus door when they exit the bus, sometimes for a very long time. Previously they would move toward the mailbox then check their report cards, allowing others to exit the bus. I know it was some sort of hack I had that was doing this but can't remember which hack it was.
Anybody know which hack I need to get/update? TIA

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Newer Shinier Comm Skilling hack at MTS2

And another thing, don't playables already gain skills on community lots now with OFB? I know the guide says that cooks and waiters on community business lots gain skills and they have been in my game. Maybe it's just the new OFB "skills". Badges, in other words. Of course, I've not played OFB without the FFS comm-skilling hack in, so I can't answer your question one way or the other.

No, I'm wrong, you're right Motoki. I just went and looked at the RTFM for comm-skilling and this is what it says: Controlled sims, NPCs, and townies may gain skills while visiting community lots, including non-college community lots. Notifications of skill-point gain will only be displayed for controllable sims. I've never noticed any other sims but my controlable sims gaining skills on community lots since NL, I believe. So I guess it is broken (or so it seems anyway). Sorry.

The FFS comm-skilling hack has worked fine for me since OFB. At least it does what it says it does in the RTFM, which is your current controllable sims gain skills on community lots. With that said, I think I'm gonna try this new hack, as I like the idea of other playable sims and townies gaining skills as well.

As long as you ignore the mystical ability of the elevator car to always be on the wrong floor, and therefore take forever to arrive before you can get in, sure. If only there were someone around who could fix annoying problems like this... If only...

There's no option to repair, it's probably a programming error as I have two sims on the verge of energy exhaustion pushing the button, getting in, getting out, pressing the button in an endless cycle. I haven't seen a busted elevator yet, but as far as I know, the getting in, then out, then pressing the button again in an endless cycle problem is related to JMP's sleep clock, as mine have only ever done that when called to bed by the clock. Does it happen for others under different circumstances? Because of all the problems with the Maxis elevators, I too use Targa's Ascension V2 elevators, which work great. A little too great, actually, as travel between floors is virtually instantaneous. But I'd prefer to use the Maxis ones if there weren't these problems with them. And yes, another place to woohoo is a bonus as well.

If y'all need a place to exchange files, feel free to use my place: http://klaatu.dyndns.org/Uploads/Just upload what you want there, then tell others here the link to the file you uploaded so they can download it. Please keep it related to Sims2, if you don't mind. I can't do any modding myself, so this is about the only way I can contribute. If we need more organization later, that can probably be accomplished without too much trouble. HTH

If you move a townie in to your lot, does he/she bring with them all the stuff they've ever bought? If so, it could be quite a windfall when you finally sell it all.
I can see it now: Jane Golddigger goes around marrying all the townies she can, selling all their stuff, then they somehow wind up dead from trying to fix that TV with zero mech skill! LOL

I noticed a small problem with the sleep clock and OFB, specifically if using an elevator from the EP. If the sim is on one floor and their bed is on another, when the sleep clock calls the sim to bed the sim will walk up to the elevator and wait for it, and get in. The doors close then immediately open again where the sim departs from the elevator, turns around and pushes the button again. This goes on in a loop, at least long enough for me to get tired of watching it happen over and over. The sim never gets to the floor containing their bed.

While it's true the current version of comm-skilling is not working, has anyone noticed if sims are indeed earning badges on community lots when working with benches? I know I've tried some and haven't noticed any badges being awarded.

What's the difference between "CLEAN and do not require any updates" and "work with no changes" (the first and third list)? Of the second list, I get it that GREEN one have an update, but not sure of the ORANGE ones or the STRIKEOUT ones. I could guess, but would rather not.

Yup, that's how it works. deleteallcharacters means just that. It nukes ALL characters. Are you saying that deleteallcharacters deletes all characters from all neighborhoods, not just the current neighborhood (and universities and downtowns)?

I do, but not sure what version I'm using. I went ahead and updated it anyway. Not sure if it was updating this, or something else I did 'cause I tried some other things too, but things work the way they should now. Thanks.

I've tried a number of beds, both custom and non. Doesn't seem to matter. Maybe it's a third hack somehow where the problem doesn't occur without Inge's. I mostly only have hacks from JM, twojeff, and one or two from Inge's; vary few of anything else.

Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but this hack and Inge's Double No Kids hack seem to clash in some way. My adults would get called to bed by the sleep clock fine, but when reaching the bed they would just look down at it and not get in. After taking out Inge's hack they got in fine.
