TwoJeff's Visitor Controller bans uninvited guests on the lot.
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / "The Sims 2 is already running!" on: 2006 December 30, 14:34:54
Recently i have been sorting my downloads, to find a problem which has been crashing my game. Anyway, when i quit the game, i would try and move my downloads folder to the desktop or seperate folders, but i get an error message saying "This file is being used by another person or program." and if i try and start the game again, it says "The Sims 2 is already running."

I think i saw this problem before but i couldn't find it.

Im assuming that Lobonanny is compatible with Pets? And that we dont have to kill them again/sort the stuff out in Simpe?
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Quicker Downloading on: 2006 December 17, 15:55:11
Still, PMBD is really slow downloading. I downloaded another file from a different website and that didnt take long.

Anybody have suggestions on how downloading can be quicker?

7  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Atavera's Stuff (Check the entire thread) on: 2006 December 14, 17:07:08
I downloaded a bunch of guitars (and the band controller V4 which Jordi modified) but my game crashes to the desktop. I renamed the package so it would load last but am still having problems.

You might have accidentally downloaded a guitar that works only with his previous version of the band controller (I spotted a few of those in here). All the guitars I uploaded are properly named BlahblahwhateverV4, since they all require Version 4 of the Band Controller (now called Custom Instruments hack), and I believe Atavera named all the guitars he had updated accordingly. I'd keep all the guitars that are named thus and temporarily remove the others from the Downloads folder. If you're hell-bent on using all the guitars and/or want to track down the culprit, add the rest of the guitars (i.e. those that are not named blablahsomethingV4) ONE BY ONE, start the game, and see if it crashes. If not, add another one, etc etc until you reach the one that crashes your game. Single that out and set it on fire, proper Hendrix-style, or smash it to bits a-la Malmsteen. Of course, you could always be less dramatic and just delete it  Grin

Ah, thats probably why. I thought the others will still be compatible with V4, but obviously not  Tongue

10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / No Bodyshop in Pets? on: 2006 December 10, 14:06:50

11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Default pet breeds on: 2006 November 20, 19:56:15
If you go to The Sims 2 -> PetBreeds, at the end of the file names there are the names of all the breeds. I dont know if deleting them will work though.

Ok, the new version is working great. Game updated successfully and everything. It also seems most (not all) of the flashing blue accessories have stopped flashing. Yay! I still suggest you make a copy of your entire EA folder. I do that regularly anyway. Here is the drivers page. I wasn't sure what version of Windows you are running so it is the selection screen. Hope this helps Smiley

Thank you! Ill try it now.

My gravestones do the opposite. They just all disappear.
17  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Graphics card or corrupted object? on: 2006 November 11, 14:01:12
Yup, it was similiar to all the modes, live mode, buy mode, build mode. When i clicked F5 (because there wasnt any buttons) all the buttons had disappeared so i clicked where the graphics settings were, changed one of them and the screen refreshed itself. Nothing happens with Esc.
18  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Graphics card or corrupted object? on: 2006 November 11, 12:02:12
Hmm...something is obviously going wrong, and its not just this lot either, its every lot in the game.

Sorry for such the big picture.

Also baths can be used at 45 degree angles. I think i downloaded a house from here and it had a diagonal bath and it worked fine.

I'd attach the error log except I have no idea where it's located

It should be located in EA Games, The Sims 2, Logs. Then sort the files with last modified. The one with the most recent date is usually that one. Also, only attach logs that begin with "Object Error" the others are pointless.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: locks on doors and gates not working ... on: 2006 October 27, 14:20:25
I think it should. I dont know as i havent played the sims in a while.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets and Cars on: 2006 October 27, 13:41:39
Forcing errors have no use when trying to fix problems.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: locks on doors and gates not working ... on: 2006 October 27, 12:54:58
Well...you could always use JMP's Authorized Personnel Only, in the Firing Range.
25  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: error in object "controller - stray" on: 2006 October 26, 12:37:44
